Liberal Media Tries to Bloody Republican Herman Cain on Halloween

You knew it was going to happen sooner or later…
The liberal media began its organized attack on Herman Cain this weekend.

For Halloween the Obama-media pulled out the fangs and tried to bloody the Cain campaign.
The Politico reported that two women accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment in the 1990s.
The AP reported:

Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain’s campaign is denying allegations that he was twice accused of sexual harassment while he was the head of the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s.

In a statement Sunday to The Associated Press, his campaign disputed a Politico report that said Cain had been accused of sexually suggestive behavior toward at least two female employees.

The report said the women signed agreements with the restaurant group that gave them five-figure financial payouts to leave the association and barred them from discussing their departures. Neither woman was identified.

The report was based on anonymous sources and, in one case, what the publication said was a review of documentation that described the allegations and the resolution.

Cain’s campaign told the AP that the allegations were not true, and amounted to unfair attacks.

“Inside-the-Beltway media have begun to launch unsubstantiated personal attacks on Cain,” spokesman J.D. Gordon said in a written statement. “Dredging up thinly sourced allegations stemming from Mr. Cain’s tenure as the Chief Executive Officer at the National Restaurant Association in the 1990s, political trade press are now casting aspersions on his character and spreading rumors that never stood up to the facts.”

Asked if Cain’s campaign was denying the report, Gordon said, “Yes.”

“These are baseless allegations,” Gordon said in a second interview later Sunday evening. “To my knowledge, this is not an accurate story.”

Remember, no matter who the Republicans choose as their candidate, the liberal media will do its best to destroy the nominee… Country be damned.

Where have we seen this before? (Clarence Thomas).

    Isn’t it odd

    1. the media was silent on “indiscretions” that actually occured in advance of the election of candidates (like Mr. Clinton).

    2. the way the media and the left wants all/any sexual behavior to be “personal choice” when it is one of their chosen ones

they are now trumpting unproven allegations of sexual predatory behavior by another conservative Black man?

It sounds like soft racism to me and very ugly.

Mr. Cain must be a real threat; he is now receiving the Palin/Bachmann/Perry treatment!

I am a little concerned about this. I heard a campaign person this morning not denying this, just trying to evade the question.

If the race card can’t work, we’ll use something else.

I give the media 20 minutes before they release stories from the poor, unfortunate victims.
The story didn’t release the names of the accusers, but they left enough visible tracks even Stevie Wonder could follow.

  • NeoKong

This is going to backfire and make people despise the media if they didn’t already.
After having to watch the way that they absolutely and most enthusiastically hid Obama’s background from us and the way that they totally tanked any rumors of scandal about John Edwards this is absolutely disgusting.

We are going to remember this for a long time. Even people who do not support Herman Cain will understand what a clip job this is.
    The leftie media is scum.

Sexual harassment is an easy claim. Most black conservatives face that charge when they get successful.

  • Let me guess, Amiga Hill? This would be funny if not so serious. Keep in mind many an accuser has been paid hush money just to get rid of a nuisance lawsuit. I wish all states had loser pays tort reform. This reminds me so much of the smear campaign against Justice Clarence Thomas. I hope this has a reverse effect. I appreciate the effort to educate people about Margaret Sanger, the founder of Planned Parenthood and White Supremicist (sp?).

Since the reporter allegedly saw the settlement papaers and since only those two women could provide those documents either directly or indirectly they are now in violation of the agreement and should be forced to return all monies allegedly received as well as additional damages to Cain caused by this wrongful disclosure. This is a high tech lynching.

  • I don’t know why you’re complaining about the liberal media Jim. You’ve been doing your own bashing of Cain with hyperbolic and inaccurate headlines and characterizations of his missteps. Your conduct has mead me wonder if you’re not on the Perry campaign payroll.

  • Show me some proof, any proof at all, and I’ll give this allegation another look. Until then, it just reeks of foul play. And, of course, media bias. As always.

  • If someone gets a settlement that includes a gag order then “leaks” the story to the press either directly or indirectly shouldn’t that person or persons be required to repay that settlement back to the company or individual that paid that person or persons? I hope that tort reform comes to all 50 states. I think of all the ambulance chasing lawyers on TV that salivate over the prospect of a drug harming a group of people so they can sue. I think of all the cases OS malaria that has killed so many since banning DDT.

This smear was cooked up by the Romney camp as was Sarah Palin’s campaign clothing budget “scandal.” He’s damn good at tripping up fellow Republicans.

The web article that started this has almost no details. Nearly everything is vague.

    We have:
    1. Cain supposedly made gestures to one of the accusers that were non-sexual in nature but that were offensive
    2. Cain supposedly invited the other accuser to his hotel suite.

I can’t find any other description of a “wrong-doing” by Herman Cain.

The non-disclosure agreements may keep us all from learning the details. That means that, if there is nothing to the charges, this will still sit out there as a problem, like an acid eating away at Cain. Unless and until I see more specific and credible charges, I’m going to try to ignore it.

Hmmm, I love the smell of desperation on the left in the morning. Smells like victory.

Left wing liberal media strikes again. Did anyone see “the rock” they used to attack Perry? Hell no and you won’t.

  • wodiej

Two women paid 5 figure sum to leave company and keep quiet. Cain takes several seconds to answer after being asked 3 times if he did it. How many people get falsely accused of something? Not many. Remember Clinton on national TV “I did not have sex with that woman!” This is what is called vetting. Gov. Palin went through all of this and still the left could get her on anything. If Cain has nothing to hide, then why the secrecy? He could address the situation without giving out personal information.

  • Wodiej, we need a yes or no answer: Have you stopped robbing banks?

  • Earthmover

Wow, we know more about Cains’ past than Obama! This should secure the liberal vote
because they loved Bill Clinton and how many women accused him of RAPE?

  • Carbon Monoxide

Proof or no proof. I don’t care if it’s freaking true. We’ve passed this. We have had a seriel rapist in the White House, who admitted having something we would all call sex with an intern 20 years his junior. Allegations of sexual harassment? Yawn!

  • workingclass artist

    yeah…it kinda smells “Rovian”

But unless Cain’s team handles it better it will hurt him.

He needs to take it head on directly like Perry did over the “painted rock” WAPO story. That had Rove smell to it too…Rove scrapes the bottom as does Ron Paul. Most folks in Austin think Rove is working for Willard under the table.

I guess Herman is learning that Willard aint’ his friend…Politics aint’ beanbag.

Yeah, been there done that. Just so damned 20th Century, isn’t it?

But we got lucky and this time it came out before he got elected.

  • Objective Analysis

He is probably going to win the nomination and presidency just to pist the establishment off. thanks msm.

  • Mama Grizzly

The Nat. Restaurant Association has deep pockets. I have NO DOUBT this happened. Here’s why. In lawsuits, the accused party will fight tp prevent other lawsuits, UNLESS the situation is true. Then settlements are made. Otherwise, if they just settle every time someone
brings a charge, lots of lawsuits start happening. Those claims are fought, and fought hard. SO if 2 women were settled with in large money amounts, and they put I place non-disclosure agreements, then it it NOT false as Cain is claiming.

I hate Cain now. He turns out to be arrogant and has a chip on his shoulder. He’s green. He doesn’t understand the complexities of the presidency and thinks he can “run” it like a private business. Plus he pulls the race card–“high-tech lynching.”. Boo-goo. Poor Herman Cain.

Totally unlike Justice Thomas. Anita Hill was apsycho and there never were any settlements.

Wake up. Don’t be like sheep. Cain needs to get off his high horse and do the real work of politics if he wants to play.

Compare to newcomer Alan West, and tou’ll see the difference between a showman and a man of character.

I think Herman Cain is dangerous: inexperience aside, he supports Federal tax (bad because they never stop– give a mouse a cookie… )–and tort reform, which takes away the jury system. Now this.

  • daryl

This exact response was predicted from the moment the scandal broke … but surely it’s a mere coincidence that every time that dog-whistle bell in Dr. Pavlov’s hand rings you mysteriously start drooling.

Politico as “liberal media” = laugh of the day!

The left cares a lot less about these allegations than the right does. What’s killing Cain isn’t the scandal itself – it’s his eight (at last count) different cover-stories explaining it to the media. Just like his marathon of flip-flopping on abortion, he’s obviously winging it & hoping to please whatever audience is in front of him at the moment. If ever there was solid proof that Cain has absolutely no idea what he’s doing in national politics, this is it.

What the left (along with conservatives) likely WILL care very much about is the currently surfacing allegations that Cain’s campaign war-chest was started in part via anonymous money. That’s a felony, & if true will put Cain out of contention for this or any other run for POTUS.

  • joblowNewMexico

I listen to Jim Villinucci local talk radio show, Jim is convinced this is coming from Rick Perry’s campaign. I’m telling you right now this is right from Obama’s campaign and leftwing backing. Cain is a threat to status guo-both isles, but Rick Perry’s campaign is already in the toilet, he would only threaten his campaign further dredging this up against Cain. If this came from Romney’s court, he too would risk damaging his foothold. No folks this is coming from the left and Obama’s campaing! I’m telling you right now, if there is any truth, there will be many many more women coming fourth! Why because if Cain truly did harrass some women, well people who do so make a habit of it, they make many incidents! If its true there will be 30 or more women speaking out. However if there is only 5, I have a hard time believing it.

  • joblowNewMexico

If this is true than he’s done, he was the last chance to get a true conservative, but we’ll end up with Romney trying to distance himself from “Romney care” and it will be a conservative disaster next November! America is finished with a second Obama term!
    Obama beats Romney!

  • joblowNewMexico

BTW I like Gary Johnson who is criminally getting left out of debates and even pols!
I also agree with a previous poster, Alan West would be a better candidate than everyone up for primary right now! I like Cain but I’m a little worried when he comments that he likes Alan Greenspan-com’n really? Greenspan is one of the main reasons our nation is in the economic and housing cirises we’re in! The fed reserve needs to have checks and balances!
