Figures. Another Top Obama Bundler Was Pushing Solyndra Deal While His Wife Represented the Solar Firm

On May 26, 2011, the White House posted this video praising Solyndra as a Recovery Act success story. In August, Barack Obama’s gleaming example of green technology – Solyndra – filed for bankruptcy. The solar panel manufacturer squandered $535 million of stimulus money in a little over a year.

Why Solyndra?
Top Obama bundler George Kaiser made multiple visits to the White House in the months before the company was granted a $535 million loan from the government. And top Solyndra officials also made numerous visits — 20 — to the White House, according to logs and reporting by The Daily Caller. Solyndra officials in the logs included chairman and founder Christian Gronet and board members Thomas Baruch and David Prend. The company secured the $535 million loan despite the fact that it was widely known Solyndra was in deep economic trouble and had negative cash flows since its inception.

Kaiser said he did not use political influence or talk to administration officials about a massive government loan to Solyndra. However, the Solyndra investor made multiple visits to the White House in the week before the Department of Energy approved a $535 billion guaranteed loan to Solyndra on March 20, 2009

But, Barack Obama had no regrets.

In fact, Barack Obama was so impressed with the failed solar company that the administration wanted to give it another $469 million on top of the $535 million to make it an even billion dollars in taxpayer cash.

Now we find out that another one of Barack Obama’s top donors was involved in pushing the deal.
One of Barack Obama’s top bundlers pushed the administration to approve the Solyndra deal as his wife’s law firm represented the the solar company.
ABC reported:

An elite Obama fundraiser hired to help oversee the administration’s energy loan program pushed and prodded career Department of Energy officials to move faster in approving a loan guarantee for Solyndra, even as his wife’s law firm was representing the California solar company, according to internal emails made public late Friday.

“How hard is this? What is he waiting for?” wrote Steven J. Spinner, a high-tech consultant and energy investor who raised at least $500,000 for the candidate before being appointed to a key job helping oversee the energy loan guarantee program. “I have OVP [the Office of the Vice President] and WH [the White House] breathing down my neck on this.”

Many of the emails were written just days after Spinner accepted a three-page ethics agreement in which he pledged he would “not participate in any discussion regarding any application involving [his wife’s law firm] Wilson [Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati].”

The $535 million loan to Solyndra was ultimately approved in 2009 and for months was touted by President Obama as a model of his efforts to create new jobs in the emerging field of clean energy. But in late August, the company abruptly shut its doors and days later declared it was filing for bankruptcy.

CNN reporter Brianna-something had the story incomplete. She reported on the restructure of he loan but not why. At least I didn’t hear it. That it was to move the private investors ahead of the taxpayers.A big change. She reported like it was all ‘situation normal’.
maybe the protestors in the BD have a point about the money being pulled out of the economy.
But where are these “investors banking this money and can it besiezed? At least temporarily, like Madoff money, until family and friends get squeezed for info

I’d like to know how much money was skimmed from this ONE deal…
…specially when the California Democratic Party is listed as one of the creditors of Solyndra,
and the said CDP never invested any money in Solyndra .
I’m sure when the creditors are paid , CDP will get a big chunk against it’s ZERO investment
while the taxpayers get a punch in the face for more than
    half a billion we ” invested ” !

Analysis: Iran’s biggest financial scam weakens Ahmadinejad

[“Now Ahmadinejad’s hands are filled with the scam … Weakened in the
eye of the nation, Ahmadinejad has been rendered impotent to initiate any
political action ahead of the (March 2012) parliament vote,” said a former
senior official, who asked not to be named.

The judiciary has said corruption at this level could not have happened
“without the involvement and backing of different individuals,” a reference
    to high-ranking government officials.

The fraud was made public with Supreme Leader Ayatollah
Ali Khamenei’s approval, said some hardline politicians.

“Ahmadinejad’s allies are determined to win the next elections and
Khamenei’s allies want to block their way … That is the main reason
behind the revelation of this scam,,” said an economist, who identified
    himself as Saber Lavasani.

“People will not vote for those linked to the scam.”]

yeah right, like they too have a choice?? /s/

It does not matter how much the Obama administration has wasted. What they care about is optic.

Does anyone believe anyone connected with these scams will go to jail. We have a corrupt political system and a joke of a judicial system. In a civilized nation the government oficials and the crooked businessmen cronies would be hanging from a tree limb.

C’mon people its your money thats being stolen and going into these Marxists Swiss bank accounts. Totals for these crooked loans are now over 1.5 billion and god knows how much more is involved.

Let me be clear, I should be in jail instead of being in the White House. I am a real money dog! They call me Barky and slap me on the back… I can’t see the teleprompter. Please adjust it. Thank you.

Let me start over. I am not a crook. Eric Holder will agree. It takes a lot of money to run for re-election with the horrible numbers I have.

So, what if stuck my hand in the cookie jar and grabbed some cash. That is what I do best. It is perfectly legal.

We have a system of checks and balances. I make a big taxpayer loan to Solyndra and they kick a check back to me. I deposit the check and my campaign balance rises. That’s called “checks and balances.” Eric Holder will protect me.

My limousine is limousine is running and I have a meeting with Barney Frank. Any, guy trying to investigate me will get a swift wedge. Think about it. Good day.

Enough with the soap opera over who was how stupid! Rehashing the details of the time line is distracting us from the most important part of the story and that is – where, exactly, did all that money go?

People don’t just throw money at a losing company for no reason. There had to be people and organizations that benefited from this deal to the detriment of the taxpayers. Who were they and how much did each one get? We now need to see the ledger of expenditures so that we can all see who got payola, commissions, fees and kick backs.

When we find out who benefited from this deal while concealing how bad this deal actually was, we next want to see people indicted for fraud, conspiracy and theft.
