Unreal. TN School District Tells Coaches Not to Bow Heads During Prayer

Now they’re telling us that we can’t bow our heads.
Football coaches in Sumner County, Tennessee, are in trouble for bowing their heads during a student-led prayer.

Teachers and coaches cannot appear like they are endorsing prayer.

Some football coaches are in trouble for something they did with their players. They said a prayer.
That has the school district taking action.
And the policy, while it may be the law, has plenty of people up in arms.
Every school district has a responsibility to follow the law, and separate private faith from public school. It can be a fine line at times. One crossed in Sumner County, it seems, when the coaches didn’t say a word during a student-led prayer, but they did bow their heads.
In a town like Westmoreland, faith and football seem to matter.
“We’re just respectful, God-fearing people up here,” resident Tony Bentle said.
Bentle called games for Westmoreland High School for 42 years.
“A lot of history. A lot of changes. A lot of football,” he said.
So when he, like a lot of people, heard what happened after a recent game at the middle school.
“It actually blew my mind, that we had come to that point,” he said. “Nobody in this town is offended if you pray. Nobody.”
During a student-originated, student-led prayer, four coaches bowed their heads. They didn’t say a word.

I will go out on a limb here and say, no truer words have been spoken. We need faith. Many faiths are in this nation and many faiths believe in God. Only a minority of one can take this nation down.
You see, if one just one person has an objection of any kind and goes directly to someone of importance and threaten them with State and Church have no place in School then there you go.
The Cross, A bow,?, A Pin with some religious sign, this person can object and that will be the rule as the law is clear.

He also needs to eliminate the Department of Education, but as the last official act, the new Education Secretary should send a letter to every school district in America instructing them that if they continue to deny students, teachers, coaches, and parents their rights under the U.S. Constitution, the DOJ will come after them next.

I live in Sumner County and we are God Loving people. The KIDS led the prayer and we see that all the time. The community came together as one in 2006 with our killer tornado and believe me, the line in the sand has been there, is there, and will be there. I would make an announcement before all games with a monstrous PA system I own that anyone who did not want to see someone bow their head, or hear a prayer step outside while it was happening. (then I would send the “good ole boys” out there to promptly open a can of whoop a** on them.) That would happen every game until they shut up or gave up. Eventually even old hippies get the message after they have been “told” enough.

Actually I don’t believe they can tell the teachers to bow their heads or not bow their heads, nor can they tell them to pray or not to pray. It is a matter of faith and outside the boundaries of any school administrators authority or the authority of any US lawmaker. Once they allowed Islam into the schools with private prayer rooms that solidified it. They cannot deny everyone else what they have readily given to Muslims.
Last I heard this was a free country (someone better remind Tennessee administrators.)

Has anyone ever gone over to the Superintendent of Schools office and asked him why it was against the law to bow your head while a prayer is being said? Isn’t that what is customarily done when we are going to the Christian God of Israel in prayer? Ask him/her if they are Christian and ask them if they bow their head when they pray or are they heathen?
I’m like alot of people on this story, when in hell are we going to put a stop to this? Or can the acceptance of belief be a public thing? Mine was both private and public. In the Bible there are some beliefs who believe that if you don’t make your belief public it isn’t for real, that you have to make it public that you accept Christ so that people will know your name and know that you are with God. I think that would be something that people could do before a game, and real quick ask how many people in the stadium believe Christ is the true Son of God? The only other solution is the dissolution of the public school system that they have thoroughly destroyed or perverted. More importantly, government has no vote except as individuals. Each member of government has ONE vote. Therefore, any petition for redress by any body of government or individual is subject to the ratification by the states and their citizens.

At Sept. 25th 3:30am Ohiochili left the phone number for Sumner Co. Schools call them today bombard their phones and tell them you want this madness, intimidation and violation of prayer stopped! My daughter was a senior in Robertson Co. Schools next door to Sumner Co. And I have removed her to homeschool her for her last year. I did this not because of anytghing happening political correct in Robertson Co. But it’s gonna come there to and I am just tired of public schools. There was 2 instances that my daughter complained of at E. Robertson where 2 lesbians were kissing in the ladies bathroom and it made her very uncomfortable.

I live in this community and we are all just sick about this. The principal is a good man but he has been pressured by the higher-ups and is prone to knee-jerking. NO ONE was offended or complained about what the coaches did. They were observed by the principal who, because of pressure from the county board of education, felt he needed to turn his coaches in.
Even as a Christian, I have no problem with teachers not being allowed to lead prayers or promote their religion in the class. I wouldn’t want a Muslim to be able to do it either. But they cross a very large line in the sand when they tell them they cannot even bow their heads during a moment of silence or student led prayers.

Religious persecution is alive and well in Sumner county schools even though presidents and politicians use God for their own purposes. I thought we had freedom of religion in America. If I were in that county Id pull my children out and send them to a different school. Bowing a head, what a bunch of antichrists that works at this school. I can’t believe how stupid this country is becoming. Not to mention gangs that commit acts of terrorism against citizens. Yes gangs are terrorists!!!
Separation of church and state means that churches can’t influence government, not, we can’t pray to what we believe in. Screw this county and their schools.
