Dan Coffman, PresidentHundreds of Longshoremen stormed the Port of Longview early Thursday, overpowered and held security guards, damaged railroad cars, and dumped grain that is the center of a labor dispute, said Longview Police Chief Jim Duscha.
Six guards were held hostage for a couple of hours after 500 or more Longshoremen broke down gates about 4:30 a.m. and smashed windows in the guard shack, he said.
No one was hurt, and nobody has been arrested. Most of the protesters returned to their union hall after cutting brake lines and spilling grain from car at the EGT terminal, Duscha said.
The International Longshore and Warehouse Union believes it has the right to work at the facility, but the company has hired a contractor that’s staffing a workforce of other union laborers.

The classic bit was when the reporter asked if the profanity spewing union thug was the union’s PR agent and was subjected to a huge string of vulgarity. “I guess not,” the reporter drily observed.

Someone told me a story about a friend of his. Her husband who works a union job, goes to liquor store every day, buys a 12 pack, sits and drinks at home, which is better then on the streets, then passes out.
If she needs help with something, she can’t call family. So, she has to call in someone else.
Pilots can’t drink 8 hours before a flight. My point is how many Union workers are getting by with drinking and drugs just a few minutes before returning to work.

Many years ago I was a Teamster local 299 in Detroit! I tripped on the tailgate one day and broke my foot. The teamsters refused my Hospitalization. I went down to Trumbell ave. Just across the street from old Tiger stadium on crutches to straighten out the mess. The problem was my SS # they transposed two of the numbers. Instead of correcting it the woman got nasty, she told me to go away, when I complained 4 thugs came out of the back, picked me up and bodily tossed me into the street followed by my crutches. That is how they do business. I sewed and won, but all could have been avoided except for their thug attitudes.

It would be a waste of human potential to squander this guy’s natural ability to intimidate and threaten violence. Who knows what progress his verbal skills and physical ability to defend his territory from ‘perceived enemies’ might yield in certain high stress/high stakes interactions with our frenemies and declared allies (those states bribed by foreign aid). I would argue that when the presidents of the SEIU and Teamsters blatantly advocate violence against ANYONE who stands in the way of their agenda—needs to experience ‘blood in the street’..or be ‘taken out’–and there is deafening silence from the President of the United States and MOST of congress—-no wonder unions are embolden to perpetrate violence.
