Michele Bachmann: “I Call on President Obama to Demand Resignation of Secretary of Treasury Timothy Geithner” (Video)

Michele Bachmann reacted to the news tonight that S&P downgraded the US credit rating. Bachmann was on with Greta Van Susteren.

“This president has destroyed the credit rating of the United States through failed economic policies and his inability to control government spending… President Obama is destroying the foundation’s of our economy one beam at a time. I call on the president to seek the immediate resignation of Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner and to submit a plan with his list of cuts to balance the budget this year, turn the economy around and put our people back to work.”

Bachmann calls for Geithner’s resignation:

The Geithner Clan has deep roots in Obama. Little Timmy won’t get fired.

  • rbosque

    It’s a good start.

  • Atlas Shrugged

I’ll be impressed when someone calls for Obama’s resignation …

  • toongoon

I don’t Michelle puts that stinky drawers fear in zero like Mrs. Palin does.

  • Conservative Ken

This woman should be our next President!

  • Atlas Shrugged

The left will ignore the administration’s responsibility for this, and throw everything they have into blaming the Tea Party. It will be laughable ….

It’s like blaming the fire department for arriving too late, when you set the fire yourself.

  • “We Are The Ones We’ve Been Waiting For”

    http://www.BirtherReport.com

  • Heh, it’s more than Geithner that needs to resign.

And you can bet that there’s more economic woes coming our way. If the S&P went thru with downgrading us, what’s to stop Moody’s? They threatened to do the same as S&P.

We’ve been at the precipice. We’re no longer at the precipice, we’re over the edge, and while both parties and Congress share responsibility, Obama has a larger measure of blame.

    This is his albatross.

Our economy will not pick up by Nov. 2012. Obama can outspend any competitor and I bet he’ll still lose. Why? Because he’s lost most of the important votes that got him elected in the first place, that important swing vote. The muddling, moderate middle independents.

  • Bachman rocks and she is 100% correct however, as everyone knows, Tax-cheat and Beavis look-alike isn’t going anywhere. The media will continue to cover for the Narcissist-in-Chief and make fun of Bachman.

Another reason is that the misery factor is going to be so much worse by next summer. zero can’t pass the blame on that.

  • Bill

Bachmann is just being a big shot. Her own party doesnt listen to her why should anyone else. The woman is a religious fanatic and her mouth is unneeded in the congress

  • noislamocommie

Both chicks + DeMint are the true conservatives (that means enforcing immigration laws and not supporting the Institution of cheap labor) and snap about running the budgets and economy.
The rest not by a long-shot.

  • Multitude

noticing the poo-slinging-progressive-monkeys blaming the tea party on twitter for the downgrade. having spent a few hours reading thru Carl Schmitt and then Peter Sloterdijk on aspects of how the Progressive National Socialists blamed the Jews for Weimar inflation and economic downgrades, it was rather ethereal seeing the Bammer’s lil’ brownshirts off on a contemporary jew-hunt tonight.

hopefully this should reaffirm why we cannot afford people like McCain, Hatch, McConnell, etc. on our team as we stand up to tyranny. these fools will compromise their way to the gas chamber, only too eager to delay their termination by a few days by handing over the rest of us.

  • Rock

Lets see WTF or Bachmann, oh who to vote for, someone who looks to fundamentally change America, and see’s the Constitution an impediment to that agenda or someone who loves America and believes in that same document. Seems to be a no brainer unless your a friggin Commie.

  • big L

The Men candidates won’t say a word on all this controversial stuff. It is Palin and Bachmann that have the guts, and are hardly covered.
We will be so disappointed in the GOP campaign. But it won’t matter as there will be no coverage of the GOp candidate. HE/she will be made out to be a fool if there is any coverage at all.

Also Sweetness-and-Light Blog posted that Tim Geithner’s father-Peter and Obama mother-Stanley Ann, worked together doing “micro-loans” to Indonesian women. and at least one Inspector General looked “askance” at the plan. It was Ford Foundation money thru the UN.

  • gus

I hear she has MIGRAINES or something.

  • arnonerik

If Obama had any shame he would resign without being asked.

  • greenfairie

Heck, he should be in prison for this. Obama too.

  • Molon Labe

We need all who voted for the DEBT/SPENDING Bill to resign. All of them.

  • bigkahuna

I wont worry about headaches if you dont worry about cigarretes and cocaine.

Bill Those that dont listen to her are just as guilty as the liberals for the debt, deficis, and this pathetic economy and downgrade.

You hate her for wanting the govt to actually live within its means? follow the constitution? Act responsibly? What planet are you from and what world is that an evil thing ? Your not only a moron but youre a braindead liberal flake who hasnt got an ounce of common sense.

Tell us all what your wonderful prescription for success is ? Liberals never want to be judged on their results just their effort or lack of it and their intent.

Liberals have not submitted a budget( their actual job) in over two years. They spend money they dont have and wont have for years and years. They blame others for their mistakes and problems and then tell us how great they are. They rarely offer any solutions and then deride those that do. You are pathetic . Liberals are parasites who live off of their hosts and they are slowly killing it. They want to blame the host for not feeding them forever when the parasites grow in size and number.

  • ahem

    Impeach Obama.

  • FurryGuy

Demand all you want, Ms. Bachmann, but you are pushing for the wrong people to be dumped. Geithner is but a symptom of the cancerous hard-core socialism being pushed by the triumvirate of Leftists: Barry, Harry, and Nan.

  • Estragon

Geithner is certainly inept, but he is also the last man in the Obama Regime with any real world experience in business finance and economics. Think about who is left: a bunch of career bureaucrats and academics who would probably make us yearn for Turbo Timmy’s return.

Gotta love Michelle Bachmann. She may be the most courageous of the DC inhabitants.
I understand she represents a very split district in which her seat is not secure by any means.

  • SSBN 627(B)

Geithner is merely performing as directed, a trained monkey on a leash. Soros the organ grinder holds the leads of a plethora of other monkeys, each polished at the art of distraction whilst the main goal of dismantlement proceeds.

    Oh, wait, that’s racist vast-right-wing-conspiracy skinhead militant Christian ignorant low-brow non-college-educated ex-military domestic-terrorist talk.

We did not sell Khrushchev the rope with which to hang us, we merely waited for the Chinese to manufacture it, whereupon it was issued under government subsidy to card-carrying dues-paying union members who lovingly hand-tied the noose.

That guy said ‘noose’. What a racist.

  • mg4us

Way to go Bachmann!! Seems only Palin and Bachmann have the balls to straight talk and confront what is fundamentally wrong with the leadership in our government!

Obama parties in Chicago and DC Rose Garden while nation sinks. .just like the band played on while Titanic went down!

Wonder how the Sunday talk shows and MSM will spin this?

Not one but two Unprecedented events. . .
    – US debt downgraded and
    – officially we have a worse president than Carter!!

As bad as Carter was, as bad as the US economy was with odd/even gas line days and a sky high misery index, he never has the US credit worthiness downgraded.

Obama surpasses Carter to officially downgrade US credit rating thereby gaining him the official title “Worst President Ever”.

And people like her, “F-’em” Romer, Commie Van Jones, “kiddy-perv” Kevin Jennings, “Mao-loving” Ann Duncan, “my people” Holder, and “Tax Cheat” Geitner, to name a few, only reinforce Obama’s incompetence and ineptness at building a qualified team.

This is what you get when you elect someone who is not a naturally born citizen, who keeps their transcripts secret, reveal a fake birth certificate, and pals around with commies and known terrorists.

Obama – – INCOMPETENT, Inept, Inexperienced and In-to-himself. . .Obuma!

Obama/Geitner. .wrong on US credit rating, wrong on recovery, wrong for America!

2012, if not sooner, get them both out! Time for real change to restore our country’s credit rating.

  • jakee308

Why does everyone persist in thinking that Obama CARES about the US economy?

Haven’t we seen enough? Is he really THAT stupid or getting THAT bad advice?

Isn’t it becoming more likely that THIS IS HIS PLAN? He did say he would “FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE AMERICA”.

How many times have we read about how some tyrant declared in advance the destructive actions they wished/wanted/would take once they achieved power?

And surprise, surprise we find that people at the time were shocked that when they had the power, they acted ON THOSE DECLARATIONS.

Why are we ignoring Obama’s declaration now after he has implemented the beginning of the end for American Exceptionalism and Leadership of the free world?

One may ask; ‘who benefits’? Look at the world today and carefully calculate who wishes to regain/gain control of at least some parts of the world and who’s main adversary in that endeavor has been the U.S.

What countries are actively increasing their military reach and what client countries are striving to acquire a nuclear force?

What has been their stated goal?

Who has been number one on their list of future targets and who is their current (barely) source of materiel and military backing?

How can/will the U.S. be able to project military force anywhere if it is broke or in civil turmoil?

We have been a force for stability and civil negotiations (rather than war) world wide.
If we are ‘broken’ and unable (or unwilling) to back our words with deeds what will certain ‘rogue’ states do? What is Obama’s connection with these countries?

We know his wife doesn’t think much of America. We know his preacher for 20 years doesn’t think much of America.

Why do we assume that Obama thinks contrary to those closest to him?

Are we too afraid to state the obvious? Or is it just head-in-the-sand wishful thinking?

OBAMA should be asked to resign. Now.

I never thought I would say this but BIDEN would be and improvement.

Regardless of how likely it is that tax cheat Geithner would resign, at least Michelle Bachman is standing up and calling attention to the failures of the Obama Brotherhood administration. How many other Republican Congressman are doing that?

    Go Michelle!

  • Mary

Turbo Timmy was going to leave after the debt debate was done and a bill passed. Amazingly enough the day after the vote it was announced he would stay on. They are not yet finished putting nails in the US coffin. BHO HAS GOT TO GO!!!!

  • Jim

This is very Romneyish of Ms. Bachmann. What did Michele have to say about Geitner back during the time of his nomination?

  • Christina Romer

    We’re f^%^ED.

  • Joanne

Obama is just doing what he set out to do to America – destroy her! If the American people even allow this evil muslim usurper to run in the next election, I will possibly see the end of a great nation.

  • Christina Romer

#33. This is very Romneyish of Ms. Bachmann. What did Michele have to say about Geitner back during the time of his nomination?

People get hired, screw up and get fired. Timmy screwed up. Michele is calling him on it.

  • mg4us

As I said . .only Palin and Bachmann have the ‘balls” to do what is needed to restore our country.

Here is an excellent piece on Palin to that effect:
    http://www.americanthinker.com/2011/08/palin_power_coming_on_stronger.html

  • Old Fan

I like Mrs. Bachmann’s demand, but I think she missed the larger priority. She should be calling for Obama’s resignation. She misses it here, and the other candidates actually did better, by focusing on the heart of the problem – the failed Democratic Partisan policies which led to this mess.

  • Old Fan

    “mg4us”

Well, Sarah Palin did have the ‘balls’ to stay true to her Oath of Office in Alaska, and ran away on the threat of cheap leftist lawsuits. She also embraced the Maverick Platform, a complete disaster.

The fashion is thick, and hardly reasoned or conservative. Mrs. Bachmann is impressive, has the substance the Hockey Mom lacks, but she too has rushed her ambition over serious efforts – having no CEO experience makes her very weak as a Presidential offering. They play Our Base well, but Mrs. Bachmann’s accomplishments remind one of very little.

Ron Paul has this problem, he talks a big game about Washington, yet he has been there forever contributing to this mess.

  • Andreas K.

I demand the entire Obama cabinet to resign, plus almost all senators and congressmen. They are all enemies of the people and should be treated as such.

  • dunce

Geithner is just a tool, not the main spring of obamas clockwork orange. The disease is socialism and the carrier is the democratic party. The symtom of economic failure is typical of the disease. Every economic failure is not caused by socialism but socialism always causes economic failure.

Bachmann was right about the TARP, one of the few to recognize at the time that the $700 billion demanded to “rescue the financial system” was grossly oversold. Only $74 billion went to rescure the financial system, and most of that forced on banks like Wells Fargo. The rest of the money was handed out eventually to Obama’s political favorites like the UAW.
She is also 100% about this fraudulent debt ceiling deal: $900 billion increase in debt immediately goes into effect vs. only $71 billion in cuts in discretionary spending guaranteed in 2012-13. The U.S. debt to GDP ratio will go over 100% by 2014 as a result of the Obama spending binge. http://www.usgovernmentspending.com/federal_debt_chart.html
When a country’s debt/GDP ratio gets above 110%, as in the case of Greece, Portugal and Ireland, then foreign creditors begin to desert the ship. The U.S., unlike Japan, has a large part of our debt held by foreigners (Chinese, Japanese, Saudis.)

  • Me

Also need the resignation of Ben Bernanke with his Q1 and Q2. But people forget it was George W. Bush who started spending like there was no tomorrow. The blame starts with him.

  • Leatherhelmet

Geithner is a puppet. He pimped Obamacare as a cure for the economy. He claimed cap and trade was essential. Neither helps our economy. It is time for him to go and for Obama to be thrown out next year.

  • Danny Sugerfield

The TeaParty is nothing more than a greedy, racist, FASCIST MOVEMENT, hell bent on destroying the social stratification of this country for obvious wealth & power. Billion dollar corporations are in a lower tax bracket than myself & are still shipping American jobs overseas. Tax them to the hilt, let them leave, impose tariffs & then new corporations adhering to fair tax codes will sprout, re-employing Americans. This isn’t up for debate, this is an executive order.
