Report: ‘News of the World’ Journalists Hacked Into Phones of 9-11 Victims

News of the World reporters hacked into the phones of 9-11 victims, too.
The Mirror reported:

DESPERATE Rupert Murdoch yesterday flew to London to try to save his crumbling empire.

He arrived in a cowboy-style hat to be hit by claims News of the World reporters hacked the phones of 9/11 victims.

Murdoch held talks with News International chief executive Rebekah Brooks, amid fears nine staff and three cops may face jail.

HIS media empire is crashing around him, he’s just shut down a scandal-hit newspaper and his BSkyB bid is in tatters, but Rupert Murdoch still came out grinning yesterday.

And this cosy picture of him giving his backing to smiling Rebekah Brooks will no doubt infuriate the 200 loyal staff at the defunct News of the World who were sacrificed while she clung to her job.

As Labour leader Ed Miliband vowed to scupper Mr Murdoch’s bid to own all of BSkyB, the News Corp boss seemed to brush off his troubles to joke with the under-fire News International chief executive – who was editor when murdered teenager Milly Dowler’s phone was hacked. Asked what his first priority was, he gestured at Mrs Brooks and said: “This one.”

Mr Murdoch arrived in London yesterday, wearing a Panama hat and clutching a final copy of the News of the World, in a bid to save his crumbling organisation after the phone-hacking scandal saw the 168-year-old paper axed.

But he flew straight into another storm as it was claimed 9/11 victims may have had their mobiles tapped by News of the World reporters. And there was more bad news when it was revealed nine reporters allegedly at the centre of the phone scandal and claims of police corruption could face jail, along with three officers.

and if the “journalists” who hacked into the phones to get the stories didn’t, then the people involved would have SOLD the stories anyways to make a buck. The people who were hacked are upset they weren’t able to cash in themselves.

this is what TMZ does anyways as papparazzi, they pay the waiter to call them that an actor/ress is at their place and having a fight. I’m not seeing the problem except for the ‘hacking’ portion of cell phone calls but paying a cop to tell you Hugh Grant is in the pokey – who cares? FOIA would get the info anyways.

It’s difficult to not get the impression that Fox News is merely a stage for Murdoch. He’s a global capitalist, there to cash in on the calamity of the collapse of cultures, nations, peoples, societies, etc. He’s a voyeur, masturbating with hundred dollar bills as he watches civilizations end.

Soros likes to set the theater ablaze, requiring the screams of the suffering in order to reach his climax. Murdoch likes to watch, empowered with his panoptic gaze, his technological connections into the cell phone conversations of the dying or dead.

This is the face of the global elite. Pervert, voyeur, masochist, sadist. The Ponzi scheme of interconnected economies are imploding, yet the masters (who command our political elite) are entrapped in an end-game of narcissistic engagement, each pursuing an end which provides the sexual finality they desire.

I reported on this all week. The worst abuses were earlier, around 2002. But Murdoch seized the moment by closing the offending newspaper: ‘The End of News of the World’.

The progressives have been chanting and cheering for the demise of Murdoch. They need something, anything, to convince themselves that they’re not the most evil in the world. News Corp. will be okay once it gets over the legal issues and makes things right.

We are the party of billionaires because it’s all about winning. To the victor go the spoils, and if the rabble have to suffer, it’s their own fault. If children go hungry, it will teach parents a lesson not to mess around so much. Jobs are not created when we give poor people money to spend at Wal Mart, or the little shop on the corner, or on tuition, it’s created on the whim of rich people who get a little more tax money and decide to either create a business or expand whatever business they have even if demand is down. After all, tax breaks make rich people want to create jobs. Sure, if you give poor people money, they will just spend it and put it back into the economy, and maybe a store HERE or THERE will hire an extra employee because real money is being put into the economy, but the real job makers are the rich, who get a little extra tax money, and decide that instead of just having the bank account look a little fatter will USE IT TO MAKE JOBS AND SAVE AMERICA.

I tried to follow this, I’ve read a few articles and none of it made much sense to me. Unless someone can explain why I should care, and it is more than reporters being slimy…………..and Murdoch being slimy and their rivals anxiously awaiting their demise because they have no other way to compete…………………who cares?
I am glad you posted this though, have seen it all over Drudge for days and just do not get why I should care.

FYI, conservatives never “cut Fox loose.” Its only been the liberal media that is trying to do that. Most conservatives love Fox, and indeed, most Americans, as you can see by their TV ratings. Those of the commenters in the Gateway Liar’s comments section who have been arguing against Fox are simply not conservatives, as evidenced by the fact that Fox is conservative and thus they are attacking a conservative entity.
