Obama Says “Nobody’s Talking About Increasing Taxes” …Then 9 Minutes Later Proposes Increasing ‘Revenues’ (Taxes)

During his press conference today Barack Obama told reporters that nobody’s talking about increasing taxes:

11:22 a.m. ET – @LisaDCNN: OBAMA-TAXES: Nobody has talked about increasing taxes now or next yr. We have talked about closing loopholes in 2013.

Then 9 minutes later told reporters that we need to increase revenues (taxes):

11:31 a.m. ET – “It is hard to persuade people to do hard stuff that includes trimming benefits and increasing revenues” Obama said. “Reason we have a problem now is people keep avoiding hard things.”

Hey… Somebody has to pay off his debt!
Barack Obama increased the national debt by over $3 trillion in just over 2 years.
Obama tripled the deficit in one year with his failed stimulus plan.

The Obama deficit this year may reach $1.65 trillion. (The Captain’s Comments)

Barack Obama and Democrats also added over One Trillion Dollars to the Federal Budget in the last 4 years.

That’s at least a 30% increase in federal spending in just 3 years.

For the record… The only reason there is not an agreement already is because Obama and democrats insist on increasing taxes.

Obviously, Teh Won is counting on everyone in the US having ADD, and therefore, expects that the collective “we” stopped listening after he said the words “not increasing taxes.”

“Reason we have a problem now is people keep avoiding hard things.”

What an intellect, and so smooth and refined.

Obama speaks with a forked tongue. So, what else is new.

#1 -BINGO. We have a winner! He thinks he’s a genius, so it follows that we are too stupid to know a lie when we hear one. Sadly, some of us are, but not all of us. Not yet at least.

Any fool who listens to this clown for more than five minutes can tell that he’s a compulsive liar, and it’s real easy to tell when the lying starts … when you see his lips start moving, he’s lying.

If the MSM would get busy, do their JOB, and expose his involvement in Fast and Furious, we could be rid of this criminal in a few days. I’m not holding my breath though, and that makes them complicit. When we take this government back, there needs to be hell to pay for that.

  • illiniguy

Hello? Hello!! The 800+billion stimulus SPENDING has been added to the base line budget each year since 09. Wanna cut “spending” start there. Now wasn’t that easy.

  • Ella

    Traitor-Bama – we need a friggin’ BUDGET!

  • Gimme a Break

Raising revenues could mean selling government land or maybe timber from national forests or oil from ANWR. But not in the Marxist lexicon of King Putt.

  • jony101

Its time they start firing all government workers except military an essential personnel. We don’t need 100,000 of overpaid paper pushers. senators don’t need an army of staff overpaid personnel.

  • Ang

I can’t even stand to look or listen to the anamoly.

  • lemonaide

I’m sure we all know how to determine when Obama is lying. (Hint: it’s that “lips moving” thing.) My only fear is that it applies equally well to Boehner.

  • Missy8s

    Don’t forget this gem Jim…

“We need to get this deal done so we can “make the investments” necessary to WTF”…

Classic big government proglodyte bull crap, “we’ll give you what you want with one hand and stab you in the back with the other because we know what’s best for you…”

He said at one point “the American people don’t really care about or understand the ins and outs of treasury auctions, we get paid to worry about it for them so they don’t have to…”

The arrogant S.O.B. commie prick actually believes that Americans are as dumb and gullible as the Euro-peons!

  • FurryGuyJeans

So what is the ROI (return on investment) the government expects for increasing the revenue stream (taxes)?

  • Bunni

What a disgusting liar! He really looks desperate & strung out.

The results of elections held for most of the 20th and 21st centuries gives credence to that belief. The simple fact that Dems/Leftists/Progs hold any political power shows the seductiveness of creeping Socialism that is poisoning the Republic.

  • Chris in N.Va.

Well, that only slightly exceeds the average “shelf life/expiration date” for most the O-Zone man’s promises.

Pay no attention to the empty suit behind the curtain….

  • FurryGuyJeans

Barry took a whole nine minutes to contradict himself.

That is a new record even given he believes Americans are too enraptured with American Idol or the like to pay any attention to what he has to say.

  • A_Nonny_Mouse

You’re talking about DEMOCRATS here: the party of “words mean whatever I want them to mean”.

Thus: taxes are completely, entirely, utterly different from “government revenue”. Really. Trust us, we’re professionals! And we have credentials! And you backwater yahoos just don’t understand that we, your betters, have magnificent plans for your “revenue”. So- start cooperating – NOW.

  • jmm

Let us play a game. Try to count all the times that a lib has over the last several weeks talk about raising “revenues, fees and taxes”. That would be a fun ad to play over and over again. “No one is talking about raising taxes, except me, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Chuck Schumer, Charlie Rangel etc”. What an idiot.

  • FurryGuyJeans

As Barry fiddles with the economy in flames, the free market points the way to how to get things going again:

Oil boom causes housing shortage in northeastern Montana

MILES CITY – Contractors in northeastern Montana are building 72 mobile housing units in Miles City to alleviate what officials say is a serious housing shortage for oil field workers based in Bainville.

“We’re out of room,” said Garth Harmon of Blaze Enterprises, a Bainville native who is developing the camp. “We’ve got people already every place we can shove them.”

Rob Shores of Signal Butte Builders said crews are building the housing units as quickly as possible.

“Actually, they want them down there last week, because they’ve got guys sleeping in pickups,” he told the Miles City Star.

A boom in oil activity in the Williston Basin has brought in workers while also creating a shortage in housing and other services.

The editors at the AP must be getting the vapors having to report news that shows Barry and his Merry Band of Marxists as the incompetents they are.

There used to be something called “Short Attention-span Theater.”

This fool makes that look like a multi-part episode of “Masterpiece Theater.” (He IS, of course, one of the obvious masters of political theater – of the absurd!)

    pardon if a repeat:

    Taxes Upon Taxes Upon . . .

[Keep in mind that Mr. Obama has already signed the largest tax increase since 1993. While everyone focuses on the Bush tax rates that expire after 2012, other tax increases are already set to hit the economy thanks to the 2010 Affordable Care Act. As a refresher, here’s a non-exhaustive list of ObamaCare’s tax increases:

    • Starting in 2013, the bill adds an additional 0.9% to the 2.9% Medicare tax for singles who earn more than $200,000 and couples making more than $250,000.

    • For first time, the bill also applies Medicare’s 2.9% payroll tax rate to investment income, including dividends, interest income and capital gains. Added to the 0.9% payroll surcharge, that means a 3.8-percentage point tax hike on “the rich.” Oh, and these new taxes aren’t indexed for inflation, so many middle-class families will soon be considered rich and pay the surcharge as their incomes rise past $250,000 due to tax-bracket creep. Remember how the Alternative Minimum Tax was supposed to apply only to a handful of millionaires?

Taxpayer cost over 10 years: $210 billion.

    • Also starting in 2013 is a 2.3% excise tax on medical device manufacturers and importers. That’s estimated to raise $20 billion.

    • Already underway this year is the new annual fee on “branded” drug makers and importers, which will raise $27 billion.

    • Another $15.2 billion will come from raising the floor on allowable medical deductions to 10% of adjusted gross income from 7.5%.

    • Starting in 2018, the bill imposes a whopping 40% “excise tax” on high-cost health insurance plans. Though it only applies to two years in the 2010-2019 window of ObamaCare’s original budget score, this tax would still raise $32 billion—and much more in future years.

    • And don’t forget a new annual fee on health insurance providers starting in 2014 and estimated to raise $60 billion. This tax, like many others on this list, will be passed along to consumers in higher health-care costs.]

more @ link, and of clurse in the unread unrepealed bill.. /truth sarc/

How can obama continue to hold both sides of an issue at the same time. Ever since the article
‘The Two Obama’s’ in Reason, I have been focused on the dicotomy.

Obama definitely fits into the “unorganized sociopath” caregory.

Boehner is having a presser right now. So far, he’s hanging in there against tax increases and raising the debt ceiling. Rush says that Barry needs Boehner to cave so that he can get re-elected. He will keep trying to wear Boehner down till Aug. 2, the day after Ramadan begins (Aug. 1). The “Ramadan default”. Heh.

The GOP had better make it clear that there will be no default if the debt ceiling isn’t raised. They need to support Boehner to stay firm and keep up the resistance to pressure from Barry and his congressional henchmen.

We need to call our GOP reps and especially Boehner’s office to support his resistance to Barry’s dangerous siren song.

There was once a time in this country – not very long ago at all – when if a President started to blame the economic woes of the greatest country on earth on a little tiny country like Greece – he would have been outright laughed at and hooted and jeered out of town by a press corps that would have rightfully sneered at such a sight.

How far our media has fallen that they blindly and faithfully regurgitate this pablum.

  • the real wow

Between the Dems and the squishes… will this country make it to 2012?

I’ll bet these go into a ‘lockbox’ for use for ObamaCare.

Wonder what happens to the funds if ObamaCare is repealed. I don’t really wonder.

does anybody know of a tax increase that ever resulted in politicans spending less money, anytime, anywhere in the world? the tough thing to do is to get politicans to spend less, that is the tough decision. they won’t spend less because if they spent less they might not be able to buy enough votes to get re-elected.
