This is going around from a twitter post:

Ketil B Stensrud, a freelance journalist says that the worst thing about the incident on Utoya is the gunman would only get 21 years sentence by Norwegian law.

Anyone know the details on this obviously foolish looking law setup? (and/or if its even true of course)

That is correct, murder in Norway only carries a maximum sentence of 21 years.

I didn’t know this was Celebrate Multiculturism Day in Norway.

Of course, it’s the jihad. Revenge for the deportation proceedings against the vile, Oslo-based Mullah Krekar appear to be the excuse for slaughtering the kuffar.

    See Pamela Geller’s report:
The bombing was unusual for Norway, which has rarely been a target for terror groups. That said, last week, terror charges were filed against an Iraqi-born cleric who allegedly threatened Norwegian politicians with death if he is deported.

The indictment alleged that Mullah Krekar — the founder of the Kurdish Islamist group Ansar al-Islam — made various threats in interviews with news media, including the U.S. network NBC.

Norway ordered Krekar deported in 2005 after declaring him a national security threat. The decision was suspended amid worries he would face execution or torture in Iraq.

At a news conference in June 2010, Krekar said that if he were deported to Iraq and killed, Norwegian officials would meet the same fate. He singled out former asylum policy minister Erna Solberg.

This was a huge attack – probably a car bomb – or 2. An Islamist group has been mentioned elsewhere to have taken credit for the attacks.

WASHINGTON — Al-Qaida-linked terrorists have taken responsibility for Friday’s bombing of a government building in Oslo, a respected blog about counter-terrorism reported

Abu Suleiman al Nasser issued a statement saying the bombing was connected to a Dec. 2010 attack in Stockholm, Sweden, according to The Long War Journal, which received a translation of the statement from the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors jihadist groups online.

“Norway was targeted today to be a lesson and an example to the other countries of Europe,” Nasser said in a statement posted on the al-Qaida -linked Shumukh al Islam forum. “Since the Stockholm invasion we had threatened more operations and we demanded that the countries of Europe withdraw their armies from the land of Afghanistan and stop their war on Islam and Muslims. We repeat our warning anew to the countries of Europe, and we say to them: carry out the demands of the mujahideen, because what you are seeing is merely the beginning, and what is coming is more.”

    Good grief!
The foreign minister spoke at Utøya today, and the topic was the Middle East. There is even a video of it, uploaded three hours ago. Seems to have been an anti-Israel speech. According to Fjordman: “It’s an anti-Israeli, pro-Palestinian crowd of young Socialists.”

The jihad hit an anti-Israel conference! How ironic.
