Every democrat voted “no” including Obama.
Drudge just posted this debt vote reminder from 5 years ago.
EVERY SINGLE Democrat opposed raising the debt limit when George W. Bush was president.

Every – Single – One.

It’s funny how things change when there’s a new occupant in the White House, huh?

  4. It appears that out of the 100 senators, only 3 have principles. Coburn(R), Burns(R), Ensign(R) voted nay in 2006.

  5. you will never see the lame stream media report this nor will you see any repubs start talking about this for fear of being RACIST….all demoturds are herr hitlers henchmen in this whole fiasco…every single f’d up politician has got to go..term limits…no pork…just govern for the people by the people if not get the F%%% out of office

  7. Whenever a member of the Black Congressional Caucus opens her mouth, something stupid or dishonest (or usually both) will come out.

If it wasn’t for affirmative-action voting districts, most of these losers wouldn’t have jobs. They’d be on the dole, like most of their constituents.

  8. Moron, your name is APPROPRIATE. You are a lightweight. Most Senators are willing to raise the debt limit, but with CONDITIONS.
Come back when you wipe the drool off your chin bucko.

  10. It’s amazing what calling out a person’s race can do for your Parties position on the debt issue, isn’t it? Shiela Jackson Lee’s remarks on the floor of the House Friday takes the cake for what a Negro woman will go to to get attention to the fact the we have a half breed Negro as President who isn’t even a American citizen, and uses a false passport, and has 15 other passports he has used in the past to get into other countries that are Muslim. Now does any of that sound good for America? I don’t think so. And Mrs. Lee isn’t innocent either. In her 2000 run for office it was found out by the FBI that she met with two leaders from the terror group Hamas and Hezbollah and talked to them about funding her campaign and they agreed. So she has violated the Campaign Finance law for accepting campaign contributions from foreign countries, which is a felony she needs to be arrested for. Ohhh, but why do you think she wasn’t? Because she was Black and the authorities knew it wouldn’t be worth it to try to convict her because every Negro there is would come out of the woodwork to defend her including Obama, I mean Soetoro.

She should be centured so that we won’t have to hear her pull the race card on every White person she hates. She is a big supporter of the same groups Obama supports from the Middle Eastern terror countries that attack Israel all the time to. She supports the PLO just like her hero the little commie boy from Kenya we have to tolerate until we can empeach him which from what I hear from my Congressman won’t be to much longer. He said he has committed so many crimes while in office that it’s hard to find where to begin, but they are going to start proceedings soon. It cannot be tolerated much longer to just look the other way as he flushes this country down the drain. And Mrs. Lee is part of his support group who will see to it that things like ACORN get their 4 billion dollars. If the Republican’s want to put something else on the table they can put ACORN on the table and watch Obama squirm. Hell, that’s four billion dollars! That’s alot of money that would go a long way in bringing down the budget deficit.

  11. Pointing out the obvious (thanks Moron – you got it right!) All but 3 Republicans voted for it! Where was their moral outrage then? Partisan politics works both sides of the aisle. I don’t agree with Coburn on most issues, but I admire the fact that he does have principles AND the best interests of 350 million Americans at heart, not just wealthy special interests.

  12. JT how fuxing stupid are you?? All the LEFTIES voted against increasing the DEBT LIMIT in 06. Obama has spent 5 TRILLLLION more than we have in just 30 months. He is not TRUSTWORHTY with money. The GOP is not saying it won’t raise the debt limit you stooopid cox sucker. They are saying, that IF they raise the limit, Obama must have his CREDIT CARDS revoked and must get serious about our DEBT.

    JT go fux yourself.

  13. JT you’re a fuxing clown.

  14. Wealthy special interests??? JT, where does your income derive from???
    a) Government
    b) MOMMY
    or
    c) gay sex

  16. And his polls are going south…

    http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/other/president_obama_job_approval-1044.html

So go his polls, so go his policies.

This would be the time for the GOP to hang tough.

  17. The problem with my boy JT, is that he doesn’t have a clue how the economy operates.
    And he’s just plain ignorant.

For example. Here is a factoid that my gay son hasn’t seemed to grasp.

ALL DEMOCRATS ALL OF THEM, EVERY SINGLE ONE. Voted AGAINST an increase in the debt limit.

ALL DEMOCRATS, EVERY SINGLE ON. EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM. Supported Obama’s PORK-U-LUS, that handed out a TRILLLLION DOLLARS to SPECIALS INTERESTS THAT DO NOT PRODUCE A DIME for the economy.

Is that hard to grasp ass hole Jt?
OBAMA then spent another approximately 4 TRILLLLLLLLLLION that we don’t have that year 09 and the next 2. Now he wants more.

AND EVERY SINGLE DEMOCRAT GOES ALONG WITH IT.
    EVERY SINGLE ONE.
When the money goes to BUY VOTES. Libtards are all for it. And you talk about SPECIAL INTERESTS. You’re a clown son.

  18. Only problem with this is that the Republicans were voting FOR the debt limit to be raised.

  19. …must have been because Bush was white, right Congresswoman SJL?

  20. Seems like some of you here are in VIOLENT AGREEMENT. I’m not sure what the point is. BOTH parties have voted to raise the debt limit in the past, making BOTH culpable for the excessive debt.

However, 2006 is practically ancient history and the issue today is that the Republicans in the House are failing on the MANDATE they were given in the 2010 election to primarily do 2 things:
    1. Repeal, replace, or defund Obamacare
    2. Stop the spending

The first chance they got was the 2011 CR that runs through the end of September – STRIKE ONE! Our “reliably conservative” Missouri congressman Todd Akin, who is looking to get promoted to the senate in 2012, voted “yes” on that one to continue the insane spending and fund Obamacare.

Next up is the debt ceiling increase. Will supposedly “conservative” Republicans like Akin stand firm on this or once again follow their establishment “leadership” off the fiscal cliff and vote for whatever crazy deal Boehner and his golfing buddies cook up at the very last minute to spend more of OUR money?

After this, I predict that the THIRD strike will be the fight over the 2012 budget – probably another CR. Once again, and true to their nature, the establishment Republicans will likely make tons of noise then cave in to a rotten deal at the last minute. Unfortunately, this will likely result in the demise of the Republican party since fiscally conservative independents and “tea partiers” will abandon them in droves, possibly setting the stage for a 3rd party to emerge as the Republicans go the way of the old Whig party. Trump may see an opening for an independent run for president with Palin on the ticket as VP.

2012 could shape up to be real interesting if these gutless Republicans hold true to form…

  21. The obvious problem is that both sides have been playing politics for much too long. Time for politicians to think in terms of our country and NOT their parties.

  22. Sheila Jackson Lee says the rotten conservatives are against raising the debt ceiling be Obama is a minority (is playing the minority card better than the race card?).

Did these democrats oppose raising the debt ceiling because George Bush was caucasian?

  23. Say remember during the GWB admin theyy wre alawayus talking about M1 and M2 and there was another one, too. and it was the money supply.
Now no one mentions it at all.

We know the Donks are lying liars and the dopes that support them.

But the democrats are dragging this out for the whole summer apparently to distract americans
from High gas prices, the dummy foreign policy, the Dodd frank bill and ObamaNo/care. This is 3 card Monte with no winner. All axel and Jarrett. Plouffe and Obama to drive incompetence off the tv an off the breakfast table. Do NOT buy it.
the GOP should say we are separate branch and will not be summoned to a whippin’.
Pass a budget and a statement of what will be cut and let us know. It will be debated in open chambers~!
Stop letting these Democrat weaklings set the agenda and the motif…
And no more laughing. There is NOTHING funny about what is goin on.

  24. This only demonstrates there isn’t a nickels worth of difference between these bottom feeders.

    We need term limits.

  25. Yep, isn’t it different when the residence at 1600 Pennsylvania changes from red to blue!! Got a blue puppy living there now looking for a new red fire hydrant to hike its leg on.

  26. Hooray!! My senator (a Republican) voted AGAINST it BOTH years! That’s principled consistency that I can happily support.

  27. Yes, as the political winds change — so do Democrat votes. But this isn’t a vote for some social gay rights legislation, No, this is about the entire economy, everybody’s well being at risk. The people are aware of these games– Democrats are the enemy of liberty, capitalism, of America. Permanent minority status for their party is the solution. I see November 2012 from my house.

  28. With 52 people voting for it I think that implies all republicans voted to increase the debt didn’t they or is my math wrong. I am a republican but believe the old guard that got us into this mess have to go.

  29. We know in the past that that raising the debt limit is politicized usually with the political party of the President supporting increases with no questions asked and the opposition party voting against it, either in whole or part. It is only with the advent of the tea party that business as usual in Washington changed. So Obama is correct that he changed business as usual in Washington, accidentally, because his policies put into office a significant number of tea party sympaticos who are serious about fighting nonsensical government budgetary policies with the effect of bankrupting the country. We have to make serious cuts to the 84 percent increase in non defense discretionary spending passed by the democraps in the past two years and cap future increases.

  30. dnb nailed it. I want to thank all of you for the vitriolic name calling, really people? Grow up. Hopefully, your children know better.

  31. “It’s funny how things change when there’s a new occupant in the White House, huh?”

Yeah, it is funny. You know what else is funny? Almost every Republican – the supposed party of fiscal responsibility – voted FOR the debt ceiling increase when Bush was president. Quit pretending like Dems are the only ones playing politics here.
