Debt Deal Reached: Obama Rushes to Hold Press Conference …Update: 50% of Cuts Come From Military

After a debt deal was reportedly reached tonight Barack Obama rushed out to hold a press conference.
He still has no plan.

Barack Obama just announced that he will continue to push for tax hikes.
The current plan does not include tax hikes.
Republicans gave Barack Obama a pass. The deal will last until 2013 after the election.

He hasn’t blamed Bush yet.

A bipartisan committee will meet and suggest new solutions which may include tax hikes.

UPDATE: On Sean Hannity tonight Senator David Vitter (R-LA) 50% of cuts may come from the Defense Department.

If the Republicans had made it so that we had to go through this again right before the elections, it would allow the Democrats to play the “obstructionist Republicans are going to kill the economy” and “Republicans want to kill Medicare” card again.

This way, the GOP can hammer away on jobs without any other distractions… unless we go to war with China or Iran.

Yup. People are right on the edge of refusing to face reality. The Republican governors addressing their states’ financial problems are losing all their support, because the electorate still isn’t serious about the danger we’re in.

Too many people are dependent on government handouts now for us to address this issue quickly. The Democrats are looking to demagogue this any way they can, and more than half the country is receptive to the message “You don’t have to give up anything!”

The GOP got the most out of it that it could. In a lot of ways, the Democrats got their clocks cleaned, as you can tell by the screaming of the far left.

From a pure negotiating standpoint, it is not recommended that one rushes to announce a deal prior to seeing the words on paper. It puts him in position of having to be the one who blows up the deal if he doesn’t accept important details.

It looks like DumBHO is desperate and, like with OBL killing, will rush to take credit while talking too much.

The debt limit is much less important than the continuing resolutions that will come up. The sad truth is that, unlike getting a higher credit card limit, all the politicians have done is give themselves a higher limit. You can do that for yourself but don’t try to pretend it means anything. It doesn’t mean the bankers/investors will raise their house limits for US paper.

We have been living in a fool’s paradise for last 18 months wherein the the treasury issues and the fed buys trillions and everybody pretends interest rates are really fundamentally low – this game is over –

No, only if the Super Committee doesn’t do its job. The deal is that if the Super Committee fails in cutting the debt, then cuts will hit the Defense Department and the current Medicare program. In other words, politically it’s not going to happen.

DEFICIT REDUCTION =/= Spending Cuts

To achieve a reduction in the deficit (not to be confused with the debt since it doesn’t reduce that) you can get it by one of two ways: Spending cuts or Tax Hikes.

So there you go folks the 12 member commission is going to have 6 liberal Dems telling the 6 GOPers on it:

You either give us $1.5 trillion in Tax hikes or Defense gets gutted by that automatic 50% spending cut.

So you will get a recommendation from the commission that the additional $1.5 trillion DEFICIT REDUCTION has to be all tax increases and this come up for a vote in Dec just before Christmas and just when the Election campaigns really begin.

This was a total GOP cave.

Under current law, the Congressional Budget Office assumes that the Bush tax cuts will expire next year, bringing in $3.5 trillion in additional revenue over 10 years. That means that if the committee chooses taxes over cuts, it’ll have to start out at $3.5 trillion in new taxes. Anything lower than $3.5 trillion will be be scored as a tax cut, making it virtually impossible to get to the $1.5 trillion.

Essentially the committee has been prevented from doing anything at all to the tax code and is left with only cuts in spending.

Gays, lesbians, transgenders, blacks, and other minorities echoed what the Global Man told you to through his Mainstream Media — MSNBC, CNN and the New York Times became your unquestioned gods. You called those who questioned tyranny “terrorists” and joked that they were inbred, knuckle-dragging idiots while also constructing them as complex geniuses. We knew your representations were fascist and enabling of the totalitarian masters, but you refused to question and think. Strangely, we will probably have much in common as we once again repeat the tragedy experienced in Germany some 70 years ago.

I’m afraid we have to face the inevitable: the majority of Americans have been either lazy, stupid, foolish, or indifferent to tyranny. You realize that you just shot down your own point?

IF they don’t count the $3.5 Trillion (over ten years) of “new” revenue from the expiring Bush tax cuts as part of the Baseline then the commission has to only recommend letting the cuts expire and thus getting more then the needed $1.5 Trillion is Deficit Reduction (over ten years). By letting them expire it is the same as a Tax Increase and thus meets the definition of DEFICIT REDUCTION. So by that method we get a tax Increase.

IF, as it really is, already considered part of the baseline then the commission has to find an additional $1.5 Trillion in DEFICIT REDUCTION. This brings us back to the point that:

DEFICIT REDUCTION =/= SPENDING CUTS.

The Dems can hold out for Tax Increases as I stated.

However you can keep believing the Boehner BS but if you do I got this nice bridge in Brooklyn, some ocean front property in Arizona and some bottom land in the Everglades I can sell you real cheap.

The ONE thing the federal government is supposed to do is to provide for our national security/defense. So we’re going to cut that by 50%?? Entitlements are not the business of the federal government. Why isn’t all of it entitlements? Why not a flat tax? Why is the debt ceiling immediate but the cuts in spending are over a period of 10 years? Why do they think this is good? How stupid do they think we are? You’ve completely misunderstood what’s going on. The agreement is that if the Joint Committee can’t come up with solutions for cutting the debt, then across-the-board cuts in federal programs will automatically take place. Possibly 50 percent of those cuts could come from the Department of Defense, but the GOP is already saying that won’t happen.

Funding for the DoD is not being cut by 50 percent. We’re talking possible cuts of less than $700 billion over ten years. The DoD is given about $700 billion every year.

But again, it’s not going to happen.

I see you changed your stance. In your initial foray into fantasy land you stated that the revenue from the expiration of the Bush tax Cuts were additional to the baseline:

to now saying that they are part of the baseline:

Now you either don’t understand how this works or your are willfully dense.

If the Revenue from the expiration of the Bush tax cuts is not considered part of the baseline that revenue can be used by the commission as the additional deficit reduction (remember deficit reduction can be accomplished through either spending cuts or increased revenue) this deal requires.

If the Revenue from the expiration of the Bush tax cuts is already factored into the baseline the commission still has to find $1.5 Trillion in additional deficit reduction. They can do that through all spending cuts, all revenue increases (tax hikes) or a combination of the two. At that point the expiration of the Bush tax cuts is not a factor in the equation and does not stop the dems from demanding tax hikes in the commission. That is why the deals language says the commission needs to find additional deficit reduction and not additional spending cuts.

Get that through your head nothing in the deal prevents the Dems from demanding tax hikes in the commission. They will give the GOP a choice tax hikes or face a gutting of Defense.

I agree with the need to take the senate and WH….
Absolutely…..exactly…..indubitably….keep the focus on electing the fiscal conservatives and firing the old boy network….we need to keep up the pressure and the positive reinforcement of the TP….Americans need to feel like they can affect change…..the freshmen were a start….
Regardless of semantics or partisanship, I still believe it is irresponsible to raise the debt ceiling….please don’t yell at me and say I don’t understand that….immediate increase vs spending cuts over 10 years is just plain stupid. Also for certain others FOX is reporting the same thing I said about the commission: The Commission can advocate tax Increases, the deal does not stop them from doing so. Matter of fact Lindsay Graham (who is not a conservative by any stretch of the imagination) laid out the exact same scenario I did to Sean Hannity. He stated flat out the Dems are going to want Tax Hikes in the commission and will hold the Defense cuts over the GOP’s head and he will not vote for this deal.

I am not A big Obama Fan, but at this point in the game he is our president, I believe in respect for the president. I am sick of all the BS going in Washington. The rich people any to pay a tax. they get all the duductions. and pay no tax. I am sick of a big government. IF these large companies paid taxes and the government wasn’t so big some of the money this country is in the whole for would be paid for. I don’t agree with taking money for the soilders who serve and protect us. Take it from the ones who can afford it. NOt the ones who can’t. Tax those. Just because someone makes more money doesn’t make them more human than someone who doesn’t make as much. Some people R born with silver spoons. Others never get a break. ITs not always what u know but WHO u know in this life. I can have all the knowledge and skills, But If I dont know the right person, and If I am not in the right place at the right time, I wont get that job. IN this ecomony we are in , I have the skills and the education for the field of my choice, but the EMPLOYERS have the pick of the litter to choose from. They like it like that. THEY don’t want it to change. They can pay someone one LITTLE wage and get by with it. They can get more money in there pocket. ITs good for the RICH man. BUt not the working CLASS..

We need to put this country back in its rightful hands in 2012. By that I mean those hands that will honor our founding. Honor our Constitution, Declaration of Independence, Bill of Rights.

Agencies need to be shut down. Defense is the one thing that is obligated in the Constitution. This is not first on the chopping block. Shut down the EPA, Dept. of Energy(not necessary they stifle energy production,) Dept. of Education(Jimmy Carter started this to indoctrinate children into socialism,) and so many more that I can’t name or don’t know the names of. These agencies have no place in our Republic. We are going back to our founding, even if we have to drag these commies kicking and screaming out of there. It’s over.

He may be your president, he was never mine. He is not an eligible president. Lenin said, “A lie told often enough becomes the truth.” Just because of a herd mentality where everyone jumped on the he was born in America, birthers are kooks bandwagon, doesn’t make it the truth.

He is an impostor. He is a front man for some of the worst elements of our society. The UN, Weather Underground, Muslim Brotherhood. I don’t call a man president who took $10 Million dollars out of his so called stimulus bill, which was actually a looting of the US Treasury, to purchase AK-47′s for drug cartels and then lie about it. A mother lost her son Border Agent Brian Terry, another mother lost her son, an Ice Agent. 150 other mothers lost their sons from this ruse. Not to mention the soldiers who have died under his suicidal policies.

Why is no one asking him about this? Then they want to raise the debt ceiling for him? For a man who hasn’t even presented a budget.

I’m tired of the charade. He is not a president. He is a dangerous, lying, sociopath, and I think enough damage has been done to the country and innocent people, that people need to start speaking the truth about him. HE BELONGS IN LEG IRONS.

On Tuesday (5/31), Ron Paul announced that “we are on the verge of having way too much dictatorship in Washington, D.C.” Verge? Verge??

The time is way past for verging. Our Federal Government has already become a dictatorship run by a criminal conspiracy calling itself a political party – just as the totalitarian conspiracy of Islamism calls itself a religion.

We owe no respect whatever to a fascist ideology posing as a religion – and we owe no respect whatever to a criminal gang posing as a political party.

The time is way past for ending the charade. If it is not ended now – if the Democrat Gang retains the White House in 2012 – then game over for America.

We’ll itemize a few of the legion of examples of the Gang’s criminality – but at the outset, let’s clearly state the purpose here.

It is of mortal importance for our future that we deny legitimacy to the Democrats. They are not a legitimate political party advocating legitimate political goals. They are a collection of looters, gangsters, thugs, extortionists, hustlers, shakedown specialists, scam artists, smooth-talking con-men, and mafiosi. All banded together to steal our money and control our lives with guns.

The monumentality of Democrats’ corruption is overwhelming. They are a criminal conspiracy, not a political organization, and they belong in jail, not Capitol Hill or the White House.

The current leader of the Democrat Gang, Barack Hussein Obama, is a Chicago mobster for whom “the law” is only a device to extort money and power. The current Exhibit A is Waivergate, his policy of using waivers from ObamaCare to reward his cronies and punish his foes.

It is little wonder that the Gang’s leader in the House, Nancy Pelosi, is ObamaCare’s Waiver Queen.

One of Pelosi’s principal partners in crime is Barney Frank. No one is more responsible for the sub-prime mortgage crisis and 2008 meltdown of the entire economy than him – and now it turns out he used the government scams known as Fannie and Freddie to benefit his homosexual boyfriends and himself.

The IBD says this should be a slam-dunk case for resignation from Congress – it should also be one for prison.

Or take “Global Warming.” Warmism is not a genuine scientific theory – it is a criminal conspiracy run by the Democrats to extort trillions of dollars from the private economy by paying scientists billions in grant money stolen from taxpayers to come up with phony research and GIGO computer models.

Last week, Richard Rahn mentioned the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA) which, according to Treasury, “requires overseas financial institutions to identify U.S. account holders and report account information directly to the IRS, including the account balance.”

It’s actually much worse than that. It was slipped into HR 2847, the Hiring Incentives to Restore Employment or HIRE Act signed into law by Zero in March of 2010. It is a clear indication of the level of fascism the Democrats have planned for us.

Here is one of HR 2847′s provisions as described on the IRS website:
FATCA will also require foreign financial institutions (“FFIs”) to… withhold and pay over to the IRS 30-percent of any payments of U.S. source income, as well as gross proceeds from the sale of securities that generate U.S. source income, made to (a) non-participating FFIs, (b) individual accountholders failing to provide sufficient information to determine whether or not they are a U.S. person, or (c) foreign entity accountholders failing to provide sufficient information about the identity of its substantial U.S. owners.
What this means in reality is that as of January 1, 2013 when this law takes effect, any money you send internationally as a bank wire – personally, say to pay for an overseas vacation, or for a business expense – your bank will add a 30% tax (the recipient FFI will demand this to save it the hassle).

What this means as a consequence is that your local bank will simply stop offering wiring money internationally as one of its services. Your money will remain trapped in the US where it can be targeted by the Gang.

Of course this is unconstitutional. 90% (at least) of what the Federal Government does is unconstitutional. There is no enumerated power for FACTA’s provisions any more than there is for the EPA or the BLM. This is what makes the Democrats a Gang, not a Party.

As Pelosi Galore sneered at a reporter when asked where in the Constitution was the authority for ObamaCare, “Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me?”

Outlaws and criminals have, by definition, no regard for laws and have no intention of obeying them. The only purpose of the “laws” the Democrats pass is to use them as a weapon to steal money from taxpayers and control their lives.

Well, if the Democrats feel no obligation to obey the Constitution, what obligation have we to obey their unconstitutional laws? Indeed, the edicts they pass and our gangster president signs are out-laws, not legitimate laws at all.

What about the Republicans?

First, they are an actual political party with political, not criminal, goals. There may be among them individuals desirous of office for criminal gain, but they are in the minority, instead of the majority of Democrats.

Often, they are the bullied or intimidated accomplices to Democrat criminality. More often, they simply do not possess the courage of their convictions. The townspeople of High Noon afraid to stand behind Gary Cooper come to mind.

This is why what is critically needed in 2012 is the antithesis of a Republican Establishment candidate such as Romney. Someone crazy ballsy enough to go straight at that Establishment while slitting Democrat throats with a smile. Someone crazy brilliant enough to turn pompous enemedia journalists into panicked paparazzi. Anyone come to mind?

The fundamental event that must take place, however, is not an election. It is a change in perspective leading to a decision. What created the American Revolution was not any decision by the colonists to fight the Crown. It was first a change in their perspective on the legitimacy of the British Crown to rule over them.

Only when the American Colonists decided that the British Crown had lost its moral authority to rule them could they then achieve their freedom.

Only when a sufficient number of Americans today look upon the Democrat “Party” as an illegitimate criminal conspiracy to steal their money and ruin their lives, decide any laws or regulations they pass are not binding upon them, and deny their authority to rule them will we begin to regain the freedom we once had and have now lost.

This will not be easy and will take time. The struggle may be dire. The Gang has made vast millions of voters dependent upon stolen money, turning them into parasites, moochers, and rent-seekers who will turn to violence once deprived of their subsidies and “entitlements.” We must be willing and prepared to repulse such violence.

The fascist scam of stolen money buying moocher votes is not legitimate democracy. Those elected via this scam have no legitimate authority over us. Once again, the fundamental issue is legitimacy. Deny the Democrat Gang legitimacy. Do this, and freedom follows. Do not, and freedom shall not.

Ironically and maybe somewhat prophetical in title, one of the general officer books born of the era was titled Hope Is Not A Method. “Drawing from their military experiences in downsizing, restructuring, and reengineering….” We were not likely to ever see another heavy armored corps barreling across the plain with the ability to absolutely crush an enemy. For my liking, Clinton’s Army looked like a downsized politically correct version of Carter’s Army. He did not leave office with hostages held in Iran, but he did leave behind him the first World Trade Center bombings, the Kohbar Towers bombing, US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania bombings, the USS Cole bombing and all of them unanswered and the legacy of “that woman.” He also left us his, not the military’s, “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy meant to circumvent Public Law 103-160, Section 654, Title 10 U.S. Code passed by veto proof majorities in both houses of Congress and held that homosexuality is incompatible with military service.

In January 2009, the promise of hope and change came to the Whitehouse in the form of President Obama. Before he arrived, he told Americans his intentions. Watch the short video clip. I do not know how much hope this brought, but it did bring the promised change with the Secretary of Defense Gates’ proposal to cut defense by 400 billion over 10 years. Analysis of the Reid/Obama plan shows planned cuts closer to 900 billion over 10 years.

“Immediately the plan would cut defense in real terms below the FY11-enacted level of $553 billion and hold defense below the FY11-enacted level through FY13. It represents a $16 billion cut to our FY12 levels for next year and a $26 billion cut for the following year.”

He cheered the removal of Egypt’s Mubarak who is destined to be replaced by the Muslim brotherhood. We know how well that generally turns out. Our casualty rates in Afghanistan in the past two and a half years exceed the number for all the years prior to that. The media keeps reporting these as “NATO” losses and none of them are running the daily body count and demanding to photograph their flag-draped caskets. Much of this increase in casualties is attributable to his administration’s rules of engagement. The Stars and Stripes, the newspaper published primarily for overseas serving military members, reminds our serving Soldiers of what the administration deems most important – guidance on observing Ramadan. In his January 2010 state of the union address, President Obama reiterated his promise to homosexuals that he would repeal Public Law 103-160, Section 654, Title 10 U.S. Code. Bolstered by Whitehouse leaks of phony military polling data, his lame duck Reid and Pelosi lead Congress gave him what he wanted and he repealed the law – in spite of what most Americans and Soldiers think.

Let me see if I can sum it up. Reduce defense spending by nearly one trillion dollars. Usher in “moderate” Middle Eastern governments. Abandon missile defense, abandon space, abandon development of future combat systems and use the military as a tool to normalize homosexuality. Mr. Carter’s Army is looking pretty good about now.’

What AaronZ either fails to realize or has completely ignored is the glaring fact that when the Republicans DID CONTROL both houses of Congress AND the Presidency, instead of solving America’s debt problems, they chose instead to play nicey-nicey with Democrats and add further entitlements without reducing a single nickel of spending.

Now we’re told that ONCE the Republicans finally get control of both houses of Congress AND the Presidenty, THEN they’ll be able to solve America’s spending problems once and for all! What a joke these morons are!
