Charles Krauthammer was not impressed with Barack Obama’s latest offer from earlier today to “discuss” cutting entitlements. Krauthammer had this to say,
“We know the president has no plan… Everything is killed in the senate. It is a place where all bills that solve this go to die… This man is still back in discussions which he gave a year ago. But, he discusses, gives speeches. Nothing is scored. Nothing is estimated. He has nothing in a plan. In public, no cuts. Nothing.”
Don’t hold back, Charles.

Charles is just pissed that Boehner didn’t follow Charles’ long game plan, i.e., raise the debt ceiling today and kick the entire can down the road until such time as when the Republicans simultaneously have control of the House, a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, AND the Presidency. Once all that happens, Charles says Republicans can FINALLY deal with the debt.

I can’t wait to see what Kraut’s sage advice is going to be when this joke of a bill is made even sillier and is sent back to the House. I’m guessing swallow.

It is the Republican leadership’s fault that Obama is still playing hide-the-ball. On Monday night, in his reply to Obama’s speech, Boehner could have said “If the Obama plan is so great, then the American people have a right to see it – I am going to be sitting by my fax machine tomorrow morning waiting for it. If it doesn’t come, then we will know that he is just playing games.” BUT HE DIDN’T DO THAT. Nor have the Republicans ever made the common sense demand that they will not even consider a debt increase until the Democrats submit a real budget, which they have illegally refused to do for the past two years. The only conclusion I can reach is that the Republican leadership, for all of its brave talk, is not eager to see the Democrats put their budget plan in writing.
Major Kong commented:
Obama never needed a plan. He’s got something much better. He’s got Schummer, Durbin, Feinstein, Boxer, Kerry and a gaggle of loud-mouthed demagogues the media just L-O-V-E!!! While the republicans have Mitch McConnell, John McCain, Lindsey Graham and a host of milquetoasts. Who would you rather have fighting for you.

Sauron enabler and shire spy Krauthammer knows that passing the Boehner deal, not the House deal (which was CC&B) is merely predicate to passing the Reid deal. Boehner knows that wiith Mordor’s forces behind him (the entire Democrat caucus) he only needs maybe 25 establishment types to give the dead beat in chief a blank check together with tax increases, no BBA and definitely no cuts.

This whole no plan drama that oBama is putting on for the masses is, I think, his PLAN which really is about centralization of power. He will, in classic narcissist style, after creating this crisis, use executive orders to raise the debt ceiling and the next time the debt ceiling issue comes up the Executive branch won’t even bother to ask for congressional approval. Same thing happened with the War Powers Resolution. Good bye Congress, you’re irrelevant. Good bye Constitution.
I pray I’m wrong.

I am amazed as to the narrow mindedness of those posting on this forum. I cannot believe that ANY American could possibly suggest that the ONLY working program in American history be meddled with. I would hope that none of you here ever need a Social Security check or Medicare because with the present “Boner” thinking, you will not receive enough to survive or to be kept alive. I am still in wonder that after the fiasco over holding America hostage over unemployment that trying it again would ever be a consideration. I cannot wait until the next election so that Americans will be rid of this bullying as a tool to try to push an agenda. Any one that would support what is going on right now should be ashamed to call themselves Americans. I am neither Republican, Democrat, or Independent, I am however, an American and can see when something is bad for the majority of the people in this nation. Some facts for you all to mull over: Forget that your “golden-boy” is trying to pull what he terms as “entitlements” out from under the American people, even though the “Big Three (Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid), have nothing to do with the national debt or a balanced budget. Forget that these are not entitlements what so ever, (We are forced to pay these every week out f our pay checks and it is matched by our employers). Forget that these so-called entitlements are fully supported through the year 2038. Forget that the Bush tax cuts have cost this country, in real revenue, more than the 2 wars and the bail-out combined. What are you left with? A crying puppet of the tea-party that has won nothing and most likely is going to lose his and many other politician’s jobs because they did not want to raise a debt ceiling that is usually done routinely, (18 times alone under the Reagen Administration and 17 times under the Bush Administration). 80% of all Americans do not want any one touching the “Big Three”, perhaps you should call your “patron saint” and let him know that he is about to do unrepairable damage to your all ready on life-support party. And by the way, MY facts and figures are SUPPORTED and I forgot to mention that the 80% that I spoke of above are from every race, creed, social, and economic status in this country. The real question is: Why are the Republicans or the Democrats not going after NAFTA/GAFTA, Illegal Immigration, Aid to Illegal Immigrants, Big Oil subsidies, Pay cuts for politicians, Lobbyists, and speculation in the markets? These are the things hurting the American economy, not the poor or elderly. Think about it…..Seriously.

My, you certainly don’t sound bipartisan.
80% of every race, creed, social, and economic status agrees with you and Obama on everything. I am not arguing at all. You won. Why complain about an insignificant Republican majority in the house? By the way, most of those Republicans are in collusion with the Democrats to keep up the spending level. Tax and spend isn’t solely relegated to the Democrats. Ask Republican Senator Brown. He bends backwards and sideways for the Democrat establishment every chance he can get. As a reminder, Liberals control the media,Dept of Education, Presidency,Senate,Judicial,Unions,Regulating bodies, etc… 80% of billionaires and millionaires are made of democrats and support the Democrat Party. Reminds me of a Zombie Apocalypse movie where 80% of the people are infected Zombies and the rest of the people are trying to stay alive. But I digress. There’s a small faction of people, mainly conservatives, who believe in the near future we will all be eating from cans of Obama’s Zesty and Hearty Soylent Green. Why do I need to worry about the future?I am sure a liberal will have my best interest in mind. I just need to learn to shut up and let them drive. Maybe in the future, there will be a pill i can take.

To DA_STALKER
Even if we forget about defending Bush actions or policies (among other things, Congress agreed, and war is provided for in the constitution whereas a welfare state is not…) it becomes a question of degree.
The Bush deficits were large, but the deficits under a Democrat Congress and then the Obama presidency have been much too large. $5 Trillion+ deficit in one presidential term is far and away the largest deficit ever recorded, either in real money or as a percentage of GDP.
The historical percentage of GDP carried by government spending has been in the 18-19% range. We are now at 25% of GDP as government spending. This also gives the government too much influence over the entire sphere of American life.
And besides, who ever said that government spending even had to be allocated as a percentage of GDP. It’s too damn much, and the government is too damn big. It’s as simple as that.
We also have the numbers in and of themselves, now into $Trillions. Over $14 Trillion deficit, with spending scheduled by automatic spending to be expanded at 8%/YEAR!
Nobody else’s pay is increasing 8% per year by automated decree. And taxes won’t either, nobody has the money. You can’t even get that much from the rich, as if you would even get a dime from them.
So stop drinking th3e Kool-Aid, have a cup of coffee, and get real.

ROFLMFAO – Are you delusional.
FYI
The Social Security Trust Fund is already gone. It’s been pilfered to nothing. SS is paid for from borrowed money. Why else would the Idiot in Chief warn us that if the debt ceiling is not raised, SS checks may not go out. The SS Trust fund is gone and will never be paid back. Even if it was repaid tommorrow, it would become insolvent in 2036, which is the year I would become eligible.
Medicaid and Medicare will be bankrupt by the end of THIS decade. I don’t want to point a finger at the greatest generation and the Baby Boomers, but they are in fact being a bit selfish. Yes, they have payed into Medicare and SS their entire life and don’t want their benifits REDUCED. I understand that 100% especially during the Obama Depression.
But what about me and my generation. I will end up paying into SS and medicare for somewhere in the neighborhood of 55 Years (27 years to date), not to mention 10 Fold in dollars what the previous generations paid in, yet there will not be one single cent for me when am older.
Not one F-ing cent.
SS should be individually privatized.
There is no solution to Medicare. People are far outliving what they paid into the system.
One bypass surgery costs way more than anyone will ever individually pay into the system. However, we could start by tackling the fraud and lining up all the lawyers and shooting them. Also, another thing that may help would be if medical science could cure the mental disease known as Liberalism. That would save Trillions.

DA – stalker……you’re not too bright are you? Your last sentence about the “poor and the elderly.” Yes, they are hurting our nation! If you are poor, and you can’t find a job, MOVE and find one. That is the problem- too many “poor” want to take some $ from people who do what’s necessary to survive. The elderly aren’t elderly at 65! SS was originally a fund for widows and orphans. The age of 65 was PAST the average lifespan. Time to readjust for reality. WE as a people need to live in the real world – which includes people who can vomit exactly word for word talking points from the democrats playbook, are we not created equal? So we need to work equally as hard for the Republic to survive.
