Worst. President. Ever.
In January 2008 Barack Obama told the San Francisco Chronicle:

“Under my plan of a cap and trade system electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Businesses would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that cost onto consumers.”

He promised that his plan would cause electricity rates to skyrocket.

He wasn’t kidding.
In January the Obama Administration, for the first time ever, blocked an already approved bid to build one of the largest mountaintop removal coal mines in Appalachian history.

And, on Wednesday it was reported that Obama’s energy plans will cause electricity rates to necessarily skyrocket…
Just as he promised.
Via US News and World Reports:

Two new EPA pollution regulations will slam the coal industry so hard that hundreds of thousands of jobs will be lost, and electric rates will skyrocket 11 percent to over 23 percent, according to a new study based on government data.

Overall, the rules aimed at making the air cleaner could cost the coal-fired power plant industry $180 billion, warns a trade group.

“Many of these severe impacts would hit families living in states already facing serious economic challenges,” said Steve Miller, president of the American Coalition for Clean Coal Electricity. “Because of these impacts, EPA should make major changes to the proposed regulations before they are finalized,” he said.

The EPA, however, tells Whispers that the hit the industry will suffer is worth the health benefits.

For the record… For every green job created by the Obama EPA, four jobs are lost in the economy.

  1. I guess we’ll be back to burning wood in no time. Hey, trees grow back, so it may be considered renewable, right?

  2. Every syllable he uttered to the families of the dead miners was perfunctory and otherwise completely disingenuous. He had every intention, and stated so prior to his election, of hammering the coal industry as soon as the politics would allow, counting on the poor memories of the American people about the miners. His fanaticism for leftist destruction of the energy industry and the American economy continues unabated.

  3. and Americans will put him back in office in 2012….

You reap what you sow America..

  4. And John Boehner wants to play golf with this cretin.

  5. He’s not out to destroy the economy except when he’s out to destroy the economy (e.g., Dodd-Frank; EPA; FCC, etc). This is ridiculous and scary b/c the MSM COVERS for this clown and his crap policies….

  6. Do we still need any more proof that this marxist is an enemy of our country ?
Do you still don’t get it Congress ?

  7. promise kept

  8. Mr. President, “I’m” capping greenhouse gases? How about “Our” elected representatives voting on this?

  9. It’s way past time Obama was impeached.

If the GOP had any balls they would start proceedings just to take up time until we can get his Commie ass out of here.

    I hate that bastard!

  10. Sonofabitch! we can barely afford our freaking utilities as it is! Damn that bastard straight to hell! He is deliberately destroying Americans and our cowardly gutless GOP does not an effing thing to stop him. Useless jackasses all. Why will nobody impeach him or hold him accountable for his repeated acts of treason and attacks against the American people? What do we pay them for?

  11. Well like little barry said “energy prices will
neccessarily skyrocket.” Hence the current day market. All of us over 40 know we have our 401k’s in the energy market, He’s killing us…

  12. Obama knows what he’s doing…he’s purposefully shoving his idiotic, dopey anti-American left-wing agenda. He is screwing with our GNP. Does he not know that we run on Coal and oil? Yet he continues to attack those industries.

And he calls himself an American President? At least the ChiComs leadership is doing all they can to make THEIR nation prosper. Hard to believe.

  13. See, I’m not a liar.

  14. And why the Rep. Congress doesn’t make a huge to play to defund the EPA is beyond me!
It won’t get anywhere but if they draw attention to this OUT OF CONTROL ADMIN….day after day after day….it’s the push back we’ve been screaming for!

  15. Katy at 14: I think it is a lack of leadership from Boehner. With aggressive leadership there could be a vote everyday in the house to stop these outrages. Instead, silence.

  16. I would look to see him making even more extreme Marxist policy changes over the next few months if he thinks he’s not going to be re-elected. This will probably include measures to undermine any free election. He has to make his mark while he has time, and he has to try to make the changes permanent.

Of course, if he’s re-elected in 2012, it will be much, much worse. America will have ceased to exist.

  17. The whole damned government needs to be removed. Just what in the hell are those idiots in congress doing? It is apparent to the most causal observer that they are not doing their jobs. The first step should be defunding all these departments that are make these crazy rules and regulations, step two start acting like congressmen and senators by employing the checks and balances and rein in this out of control executive branch, step three start impeachment proceeding on all activist judges. Every damned one of these people took and oath of office to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic” , if they can’t live up to that oath they are the enemy.

Yes. Instead… he goes golfing with the communist who is destroying the country.

  19. katy 18: Boehner golfing with Obama is a huge Boehner mistake. He does not understand that we are at war with Obama, who is attempting to destroy America, and that fraternizing with the enemy is not a virtue. There are millions of not very engaged voters out there who will see pictures of Boehner and Obama golfing together and conclude that there really is not much different between the two parties, a disastrous result for all of us who are attempting to reverse America’s destruction.

  20. And what is Congress going to do about it? Nothing? Great thing to do in a bad recession. We’re screwed again. How long is this nightmare going to last? It’s gotten to the point I’d like to deck anyone who voted for this arrogant socialist. I despise him.
