Killing two birds with one stone.
The left found a way to display their hate for Jesus and Sarah Palin in one art exhibit.

  1. Someone call up CAIR and tell them there’ll be paintings of Allah and Mohammed, given the same treatment.

  2. Hate crime? Oh, yeah, Holder’s DOJ…
    .

  3. Obama’s core voter base.

  4. Yeah, but the person who hates Palin enough to by the painting is going to have to look at Palin every single day.

  5. I wonder if our tax dollars supported this ‘art’ or the artist. I find this very disturbing and offensive.

  6. Who, pray tell, was the “artist” who painted this?! Names. We want names.

  7. I believe it is fear more than hate. They are deathly afraid of Sarah Palin or anyone (Real America) like her. It is their way of dealing with this fear, much as a child is taught by his father to “slay” the boogie-man who hides in his closet or under his bed.

Only, I don’t believe it’s working for the left, their nightmares are intensifying! It’s not just Palin they should fear…..

  8. That’s not “killing two birds with one stone.” In reverse, as you suggest, it’s killing two snakes with one hoe. The first snake is liberals displaying their violent hatred of a woman who does nothing but speak the truth about them. The second snake is liberals showing their oh-so-boring-and-predictable now hatred of Christianity in their iconoclastic nihilism.

Remember that there is reality, projection of reality and perception of reality. Liberals are so much more interested in projecting a false reality instead of accepting it. When they are winning in the cultural war, they pull this off with fluffy, empty emotional ideas like “HOPE-N-CHANGE”. When they’re losing, they come out with this type of thing. Fortunately, this latter display much more accurately shows everybody who they really are.

To paraphrase al-Bama: “we should be thanking them.”

  9. Oh, I forgot to add: We love you, Sarah! :-*

  10. The painting is a take on a famous sculpture from 1650 by Bernini called the Ecstasy of Saint Theresa:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Teresabernini.JPG

  11. Wait…doesn’t the left think Obama is the second coming?

  12. “Tim commented:

I believe it is fear more than hate….”

Exactly- if Sarah were no threat at all, they would ignore her.

I freely admit I’m a half-assed Christian ( and an Honorary Jew ) and this sort of childish foolishness doesn’t even jingle my chain, let alone jerk it.

Keep it up, Palin Haters- you impeach yourselves…

  13. Yet so many Americans believe that giving into this type of amoral rot is easier than standing for moral decency; if Palin is damaged goods it is due to good people doing nothing but allowing bad people the luxury to create evil things.

If good people allow Palin to be destroyed do they really think the next decent person won’t face the same vicious assults?

It is like all these ‘good’ people are standing around watching the rape of Palin and rather than going after the rapist the ‘good’ people instead are begging for Palin to go away because it makes those ‘good’ people feel bad.

Which is more hidious, the good people standing by allowing the assult or the assailants?

  14. Oh wow. Another “edgy” “art” exhibit aimed at those Christians…

Let me know when Mohammed is on the menu. Oh wait, what?

These are nothing more than frightened bilge rats.

  15. Is that Obama’s hand holding the nail? How did he possibly have time to get off the golf course and pose for that?

  16. Just another WTF moment to be filed in the scrapbook.

  17. ***yawn***
another day, another group of sad, ignorant people trying to be relevant by dissing Jesus…

  18. Hey now, leave the monkeys alone. Monkeys are smarter than the average leftist AND more talented than the average modern artist.

Looking on this list of “artists”… I have never heard of any of them and will very likely forget their names within the next 5-10 minutes.

  19. Oh, by the way… Look at the images. One could conclude that they believe that Palin is Jesus. That could lead to some interesting thoughts.

  20. Why do the leftard artists plagerize someone else’s work but insert their own characters into it? This happens a lot and not just in paintings and sculptures, but also in speeches and writing. Barack Obama has not had one original thought or antedote in any of his million speeches. But that is not what is disturbing.

The truly scary thing about this is how openly they blaspheme the God of the Universe and the Lord Jesus Christ. I am sure that this would hurt Sarah Palin because she is a Christian. She knows that just as Jesus was mocked when He came the first time, so will WE ALL be mocked before He returns. He told us. I am so saddened that such a vast population of demonically possessed people have descended on this Earth causing chaos, violence, and hatred against mankind.

    Maranatha!

  21. Well, The tax funded NEA (National Endowment for the Arts), included Andres Serrano’s “Piss Christ” in one of their exhibits a number of years ago.
Guess the leftist figured if we would allow that with only a few speaking out against it, this would be the next logical (to their twisted thinking) step.
Give a leftist an inch and they will elect an Obama too, maybe for a second term if voters don’t wake up.

  23. Wondering if it’s smart to give this leftist-anti-Palin crap more publicity by publishing it here, too…it just re-enforces the leftist vile narrative into the collective consciousness, even if it is slimy Alinsky-type smear. Better to continue posting all the brilliant representations of Palin’s integrity w/ her patriotic speechess & writing. More pure Palin in her own words & less leftist cheap shots at her.

  24. Killing two birds with one stone.

So when are they going to do an Ol’ Mo exhibit and find out what it really means to get stoned?

    jw #24

i concur, our enemies get 10 times the coverage our friends do in here.. :-(

  26. Do you remember the false claims (to support the false narrative, of course) that there were pictures of al-Bama being lynched at TEA Party rallies? Do you remember the outrage of this in the state-run media outlets?

  27. Look at the bright side, they have Jesus on the brain…

    The hound of heaven approaches.

    Pray for them.

They even have a burned out creche… great for sitting outside abortion clinics (would you think they’d mind then). /s

Some of these artists obviously come from religious backgrounds, whether they loved or hated it. It’s a cry for help.

Pray, have faith and don’t worry, all things work for the good. They’re ripe for the picking.

  28. As a Christian I am always horrified by this type of art. Honestly, most of what passes for art these days baffles me. Whenever things like this come out, I am reminded that Jesus said the world would hate us just as it hated him. However, notice that no one is rioting in the streets over this or killing people, as another prominent religion’s followers would be doing at this point.

  29. #29 Aliveritas,

    Pray, . . .

I’m not really religious, but when the time comes, I’ll pray for my aim to be true.

  30. For the Godless Left: “Sarah Palin in 2012!”

  31. It’s too bad most of these folks are such pinheads. They need Christ as much as any of us.

  32. My first thoughts were anger but then turned to pity for the brainless non believing people. My thoughts are for the Palin family.

The closer we get to the time Sarah wil announce that she is running against the kenyan fraud the hate will erupt! So hold on folks!

Our first message to those morons will be to fill Sarah’s “war chest” and I mean fill it!

  33. “It’s not hate speech if we like it”

    /The Left

  34. Bah. Another Jesus show? Those are old, tired and SAFE. When they do The MOOHAMHEAD SHOW, then they’ll be pulling out the big guns.

By the way, are they allowed to say “pulling out the big guns” in this new era of civility?

  35. Galatians 6:7

  36. Matthew 7:16 “You will know them by their fruits”

At Least Eight Killed During Koran Burning Protest in Afghanistan

  37. If anyone from LA is reading this, please go to the show and gush about what a great idea this painting is. Just carry on something fierce. Then say it’s bound to get her elected by showing the general public how persecuted she has been at the hands of the left, and it points out that the true subject she is being modeled after ROSE UP, as will Sarah.

By the way, are they allowed to say “pulling out the big guns” in this new era of civility?

    ………………………………………………………………………………………………………….

Maybe “A more forceful application of Kinetic action” would find favor with WTF’s speech writers.

  39. Even if everyone who supports Palin donates just $1 to SarahPAC, she’d make millions in one day.

BTW, Jesus rose and triumphed, right? Could someone remind the artist of that fact?

    Palin 2012

  40. reprobate minds…given over..

  41. Isn’t this the kind of ‘uncivil’ speech, that may lead unstable persons to commit violence against politicians, that the left was decrying just three months ago? Sorry, that was only uncivil speech to democrats. With respect to republicans, the democrats are engaging in business as usual.

  42. Why not? She’s crucified in the press on almost a daily basis, anyway.

Sarah Palin–more popular with Liberals than Jesus.

  43. Pilot episode, Night Gallery, Nov 1969. “The Escape Route.”
You remember it. “Put me in the picture!”
Someone owes Rod Serling a royalty.

  44. These people including Bill Maher have climbed up from the fires of hell. We need to send them back. They are loathsome. They must hate themselves so much that they lash out at everyone around them.

  45. Why don’t they show real courage a trash Mohammed. Cowards.

  46. Cowards. Like #49 says: “Show us your sharp edge, trash mo’ with your so-called ‘art’.

  48. Yawn. Another leftist punk acting out trying to get attention.

    Ignore it.

  49. This “art” is so lame and predictable. Very 2nd year art school as in trying to get attention by being mindlessly provocative. Cute!

  50. What a fine name Sarah is. Was it not her that God made fruitful with a child in her nineties? My bible schooling is a little rusty.

As I am strong in my faith, I SMILE at the displays that Satan has put out for us to view. We are doing something VERY RIGHT to ilicit such a response from his minions. I am sure Sarah smiles too. God bless and keep you, Sarah Palin.

  51. ++

uh, isn’t that hate speech, or against Obama’s UN Resolution??

    oh wait..

[Further, it is the nature of religion to include a component of exclusivity, thus making it impossible to express one’s theology accurately without making “defamatory” remarks against another theology. For example, merely preaching that Jesus is the son of God can be viewed as an inflammatory remark and an affront to Islam. Additionally, the wording of this resolution makes its violation subjectively determined and comes dangerously close to outlawing certain emotions, such as hostility toward Islam or Muslims.]

hmmm, now what was it i used to say about Islam & Obama??

oh yeah, “OBAMA & ISLAM ARE ONE WAY STREETS”, and Obama is shifting
the winds in an ugly direction as fast as he can, and seeing as how stupid
we are by not supporting true Freedom and Democracy seekers due to the
“wolf in sheeps clothing syndrome”, not to mention our transparent anti-US
and all “we” stand for revolutionist organizer aka: the #1 Wolf in charge of
US, we can, in part at the very least, most assuredly thank ourselves.. :P

God Bless America & Allies & G-Damn Obama & Enemies to Hell on Earth..

  52. “Isn’t this the kind of ‘uncivil’ speech, that may lead unstable persons to commit violence against politicians, that the left was decrying just three months ago?”

    Right.

And every time nothing happens in consequence, the theatrical fear of the Right, as acted out by those who proclaim such alarums, is shown to be patronizing demagoguery. Why they don’t know that everyone knows that, is one of those impenetrable mysteries.

What some of these artists do is offensive, though I’m not personally offended. There’s a difference between the rational judgment that a thing is offensive, and actually being emotionally offended. On the other hand, the more profound offenses in this world are offenses to reason (such as above: “why they don’t know that everyone knows that”), and in some sense such art’s greatest offense is that in a rational analysis, its actual significance falls far short of what its creator imagines it to be. It’s an achievement that doesn’t achieve. It aspires to contentfulness, but ends up contentless. If it were a business, venture capital would be fleeing it. But since artists are less about reason than aesthetics, some of them don’t think well and flatter each other with gratuitous praise.

Not the case with Muslims, as many above point out. In picking low hanging fruit (targeting the sensibility of safe Christians), the artists show themselves effete and timid even as they imagine themselves bold and meaningful.

Some of the art in the exhibition was quite well done and seemed significant. As with everything, the artistic community partakes of a bell curve. Praiseworthy material should be commended, and trash should be hauled out to the alley. The free market works in the world of art as well.

Don’t forget, folks, to differentiate good from bad. Sometimes they’re found alongside each other. There’s wheat and tares even in art.

  53. another display from hillary’s sensitivity crowd. i wonder what they think they are doing to christians self esteem.

  54. OK, so I already know the answer to this question, but I’m going to ask it anyway: does anybody here think they know what this painting is about? I’ll give you a hint…IT’S NOT ABOUT “LEFTISTS” TRYING TO HATE ON PEOPLE.

This is this art; this is culture. You’re not supposed to take it literally, because there’s irony and subtlety here.

This painting (like all art, really) is kind of a Rorschach test, and if the only message you walk away with is “my god, how deeply perverted and hateful liberals are!” you’ve failed it.

  55. The religious hypocritical leaders of Jesus’ day thought they were getting rid of Him by having Him crucified. Yet Jesus rose from the dead to reign over all just as God had planned.

So I wonder what the artist’s intended message is in this painting? I wonder if their idea is as short sighted.

  56. ++

    Blue #58

hope that brainfart didn’t hurt too much..

    ==

  57. I’m looking forward to the next exhibit.. “The Muhammad Show” Oh.. the ideas that those “artists” could conjur up.

  58. Blue #58 – Does that go for trash like Elvis painted on black velvet and dogs playing poker, too? Or is it only the trash generated for the purpose of offending those on the right that’s above criticism?

  59. Palin lives in the head of all these loons. She haunts their dreams, she is their worst nightmare. I predict that a large number of these will end up being institutionalized before long, especially when Palin wins in Nov 2012.

  60. Well Sarah was crucified and she shall rise again. Please note I’m not comparing her to Jesus. Though I fully realize it wasn’t their goal but I find the painting a beautiful metaphor. Again I know that’s not the point. When I look at it through the eyes of my own beliefs I find I like the painting. If Sarah thought getting crucified on the cross would help her country she’d take it. She’d take it like a woman. I hate to say man because the male republicans would give her the Judas kiss for all they’re worth.

  61. Well, today someone burned a Kuran and 12 people are dead. Someone mocks Christ’s crucifixion and it is art for the high falooting folk in LA.
Why do they pick on Sarah? That’s my question.
Makes me appreciate and root for her more.

  62. The R&R Gallery blog promotes vandalism in the name of “art”. It features a video of an “artist” defacing advertising posters by painting a hijab over all the people in the images.

    http://blog.therandr.org/2011/02/princess-hijabs/

  63. I like the painting, it speaks to me of our crucifixion of anyone who dares stand up and speak the truth.

  64. Auntie Madder,

No art is above criticism. But if you’re going to criticize it, you should at least understand it, and not just indulge yourself by taking kneejerk offense.

This is a Passion scene, so it’s supposed to evoke ideas about the Crucifixion; it’s about martyrdom, about the casual cruelty of people to their fellow man. Why the clownish face? Because the world sees her as a clownish person, and we’re being shown the punishment she receives for having the audacity to be herself. Look at the colors and the execution of the painting. Are there visual cues in the composition or content of the piece that give even the slightest hint that someone is trying to lampoon her? Does this piece look like mockery? Would it fit in with political cartoons? Obviously not. The painting’s tone is anguished. Compare this to the Admiral Ackbar painting or the Jesus with Llama painting, which are letting you know that the whole thing is supposed to be a joke; this painting is in earnest.

If the painter is anything other than conservative (and chances seem pretty good that would be the case), it’s something of a cautionary tale. It’s saying: “yes, she may be wrong, and maybe you’re right, she hasn’t got a single good idea in her head. But does she deserve this? Have you thought about the consequences of treating her the way you do?”

If you’re a leftist trying to disparage Palin, saying she’s “like Jesus” is a pretty bad place to start.

It’s a pity that only a few of you actually tried to transcend your partisan boundaries to actually appreciate it, because this is a anti-anti-Palin painting.

  65. Blue – Don’t pity the virtuous.
    Context.
    Libs hate Jesus and Palin.
Libs know that this will offend Christians.
The picture’s message is hate. Though libs may just laugh at it.

You’re very arrogant for someone who knows neither Jesus, Palin, nor Christians in general.

  66. Nice to have a hermeneut like Blue on hand.

Care to exegete the Cheeze-Its? Obviously the thoughtful artist is doing a parable — composing in riddles opaque to hylics but transparently sublime to the few pneumatics among us.

Or perhaps the Mon Calamari Christ would yield its fruit in season, to refresh the mind…

    Good grief.

  67. Prayer is what it takes to change. Forgiveness to this artist is what Jesus would give. Jesus said it best, “Father, they know not what they do”!.

  68. “I find the whole business of religion profoundly interesting. But it does mystify me that otherwise intelligent people take it seriously.” – Douglas Adams

  69. Yeah, I’ve always been amazed that a thoroughgoing secularist like Adams nevertheless is capable of experiencing mystery. ;-)

  70. I used to think the statement, “liberalism is a mental disorder”, is too extreme. But after seeing this, there might be some truth in it.

  71. I recently read this Quote in a Newsletter by Ken Ring and as far as I am concerned had I not known better I would have thought it had been someone like Martin Luther King, Gandhi, Mandela or some other Former President of the United States.

Sean Plunket, a prominent radio personality, is said to have commented at the Skeptics Lunch that “FREE SPEECH WAS OKAY AS LONG AS IT WAS INFORMED, ACCURATE AND RELIABLE. IF THAT IS TRUE IT WAS A PERFECT DEFINITION OF NON-FREE SPEECH.”

  72. If the artist is intending to insult, then it doesn’t really work. We know that there are similarities to the persecution of Jesus (lies, irrational fear and persecution from within the elite ruling class) and we know that Sarah Palin has remained very positive and strong throughout. The best outcome would be for everyone to congratulate the artist on capturing the hatred of the left toward this woman, and her indomitable spirit.

  73. will people quit capitalizing allah he is a false god u dont capitalize turd and thats the same thing, except turds are real
