In February 2009 President Obama told a crowd of willing dupes that he was going to cut the deficit in half.
It was important.
Fast forward two and a half years.
Obama tripled the deficit his first year and it’s only getting worse…
The Obama deficit this year will reach $1.65 trillion. (The Captain’s Comments)

Oh, yeah! Those were part of his big redecorating binge.
Now, as an amateur student of Middle Eastern decor, derived from a lot of tea sipped in a lot of Lebanese salons, we’ve observed that gold seems to be the No.1 preferred color accent for the Middle East types. Root around and check out pixs of the Saudis. They definitely use gold and gilding lavishly in all their decorating.
So, when I see Obama standing in front of those gaudy damask drapes, and in the newly gold-ified Oval Office … I suppose it would be TOO much to expect to find simitar motifs woven into the design, but it’d be very interesting to have a motifs expert take a close look at the .. ah… etimology of the floral and stylized theme of the curtain material. A lot of traditional designs have meanings.
Seriously, glizy gold is not the usual American style. It does look odd.

As to doing nothing on the deficit, he lived up to that, increasing it to new record highs is quite and accomplishment. I didn’t believe that nonsense when I was voting for Democrats, and I believe it much less, now. The Democrats right now are on the wrong side of history, responsible first for ignoring the housing bubble, and then for implementing a failed overspending policy, not to mention some big, big power grabs for fake big shots in the government and operating the US budget as if it were a slush fund for their friends.
I would much prefer that Mr. Dean tell us what is valuable about the actions the Democrats have taken, and what needs to be adjusted, from his point of view. This business about blaming policy differences on lack of character is unimpressive, and unlikely to convince me that he has anything useful to say.

I’m not absolving anyone. Actually I tend to think that the President (whoever he is) generally gets more of the blame than he deserves while Congress gets very little. I’m really only pointing out that the chart is wrong. The Bush years should just be scooted over one. My real point is that the post is misleading and no one was pointing it out.
