Shouldn’t she have recused herself because of conflict of interest?
gus commented:
Husband Carl “Marx” Sinderbrand is a libtard lawyer. Google him. He’s involved in many varieties of paper pushing and environmental mumbojumbo.
The NON-PRODUCTIVE among us and their love of Marxism. True Irony.
gail commented:
No…..she’s a democrat….she doesn’t answer to anyone! Why does this not surprise anyone?

That would require ethical behavior and integrity. Traits lost on most progs.
pub commented:
And Jewish, of course.
Jane Mitchell commented:
If the case before the judge involved a company in which she owned stock, she would have to excuse (recuse) herself from any involvement in the case. That’s what judges in Texas do. Hang tough Wisconsin

Wow, I smell corruption…
gus commented:
This is typical LIBTARDISM. Whole family NON-PRODUCTIVE paper pushers and libtards. They are nothing but leeches.
Whoop-Dee-Doo commented:
The Democrat Exception applies to excuse any conflict for this judge. Just ask Representative Weener, the acknowledged world-reknowned expert on judicial conflicts. He knows conflicts of interests when he sees them, and he’s never seen a democrat conflict. They don’t exist.
gus commented:
Need I remind you, her name is SUE ME.

Vote in this poll to support Gov. Walker, vote like a Dem, early and often.

This is a non-arms-length conflict of interest and she clearly needs to be taken off the case.

I agree. But what’s sad to me is that so many have an outdated idea of what corruption is. They think corruption must involve money, when oftentimes it doesn’t, not anymore. Helping a family member from the bench is corruption.
BurmaShave commented:
Activist judge Maryann Sumi should be impeached.
squeaky commented:
so much for the ability to put one’s politics aside to judge strictly on the merit of the case. when the political agenda guides the outcome and disregard oaths.

So liberals believe Clarence Thomas should recuse himself from cases because his wife does independent political work. But Sumi shouldn’t recuse herself because her son is a tool of a party who is before her court. Liberal logic puts pretzels to shame.
Darwin Akbar commented:
Liberals also had no problem when the 9th Circuit judge refused to stay the gay marriage decision notwithstanding his wife’s participation in the case.
#5 pub: What does her being Jewish have anything to do with this?
LibertyAtStake commented:
#5 dnb: The real question is what is the mechanism in WI for having her removed – for failing to recuse herself for the OBVIOUS conflict of interest.
The makes her a J.A.U.L. in robes.

is everyone in wisconsin working for a union? northern people don’t know how to work unless they work in a union?
if i were walker, i would pack up my family and get the hell out of this hell hole. move down south where you would be appreciated. leave this awful state.
does wisconsin have people have any redeeming qualities, they are a lawless state, their own police will not enforce their laws, they even have corrupt judges. how can a few republicans fight this kind of situation? where are the people that elected the republicans, what kind of support are they giving these republicans?
RedBeard commented:
This judge, as others have pointed out, was placed on the bench by a Republican. Shades of Earl Warren and David Souter.
We can never depend upon the “R” rump stamp to mean anything. Elect conservatives.
truth teller commented:
Jesus…these fat, lazy slobs don’t stop…
Why do they think they “deserve” anything? Who raised these people?
Listen up commented:
Conflict of interest BIG TIME…her ruling should be invalidated due to her son being a union fat cat.
L.E. Liesner commented:
I guess that these activist judges are not only above the law (conflict of interest) but also above the rules of common sense too. When a judge substitutes politics for law, that judge needs to be impeached and removed from the bench.
nhale commented:
Oh shameful, shameful…but Ginny Thomas is another matter completely, of course.
Mick commented:
The Gov needs to exert executive orders to set aside this absurd ruling on the basis of conflict of interest. Put the law in force and if the judge continues objecting, arrest her, charge her with public corruption.
fightinggranny commented:
Typical JUSTICE and UNION hacks to boot.
Tim commented:
Gee, there’s no conflict of interest. Her interest is in protecting the communist unions and from her standpoint…no problem.
SM-AZ commented:
Rotten to the core! Thank God for conservative media/patriots for uncovering this travesty! Right on Jim for getting the truth out! This is why the left wing loons are getting more and more underhanded and desperate…..because they no longer can keep their dirty deeds hidden!
burt commented:
County judges have no say about rules made by a state legislature. This woman has made a total fool of herself.
layne scheffer commented:
Do we think we could find a judge that does not have connections on both sides? I am sure most conservative activist judges have relation that works in corporate america and stand to profit from RTW passage. These people on either side of the isle do not get there without having friends and relation in powerful positions. A judges job is to remain fair. Since she does not stand to profit from this I see it as LESS a conflict than a judge who has political motivations and is in the pocket of big business. Which is what it sounds like the majority of comments here favor. “I dont want YOUR partial judge, I want MY partial judge” ????
Freddy commented:
Never forget to FOLLOW the MONEY!
Every day that the bill is delayed in implementation is another day that the unions collect money DIRECTLY from the state of Wisconsin.
Look for EVERY public union elected stooge in the great state of Wisconsin to protect this CASH gravy train for as long as they can!
No doubt, there will be some glitch in their state payroll systems that will require months, or even years, to correct the automatic transfer of cash to union bank accounts. Here in California, it would take at least 10 years, at a cost of tens of millions of dollars, to fix such an issue!
Carmen commented:
Hi, Layne. So, working for a company (otherwise known as a corporation) disqualifies a person from being against public employee unions? Liberals never debate the issue – in this case, the judge’s obvious bias. Let me explain real slowly, Layne: unions give money to democrats for their reelection campains > unions negotiate with elected leaders (i.e., Dems) > Dems give away TAX PAYER money, not their own > Tax Payers pay, Dems get more union donations next election Cycle > Rinse and Repeat next election cycle.
Repeat until the state or city has been cannabilized, that is. Take a hard look at CA and Detroit if you have the intellectual honesty to do so. I doubt you do.
Mad Hatter commented:
Amazing how the Alinsky Media isn’t reporting this. (cough cough)
It’s also amazing how she thought she could get away with this.
Madoc McFie commented:
Judge Sumi has added another straw to break the proverbial camel’s back. Isn’t it interesting that the fore-mentioned beast was a camel? And now the camel jocks seek to take over this country and ride it into the ground. And we shouldn’t be surprised at the underhanded, deceitful mechanisms they employ – as Mohammed proved again and again, honesty, honor, and tolerance are effectively missing from the jihadist vocabulary. Yet, they accuse us – the US – of hatred. As another “old saying” goes, “That’s the pot calling the kettle ‘black’”. Chin up, good people of WI. Don’t let them whitewash this and pretend it isn’t “as black as sin”.
Earl P. Holt III commented:
Failing to recuse herself SHOULD BE grounds for impeachment.
Let’s see if anyone has the guts…
Paul commented:
Hello!? McFly!!!!! She is not ruling on the actual terms of the law. So who her son is, in this case, is not in the least bit relevant. She is ruling on the legislative procedure used to pass the law. If this case was about the constitutionality of the LAW itself, it would make sense for her to recuse herself. Just like SCJ Thomas should recuse himself, as he is getting income to his household from anti-health reform organizations that are paying his wife, who he sleeps with in the same bed. Does anyone know if Judge Sumi’s son is living with her? And Earl, please, you can’t impeach a judge for not recusing themselves. That in itself is not illegal. Get a hold of yourself.
we see it all commented:
This idiot judge can not overturn a legislative decision in Wisconsin.
IT is not within her duties or power granted her by the WI constitution.
She’s just another radical progressive who is now whining right along with her dem
friends because they have lost their power. Go figure. Her kid is a radical with SEIU.
Why doesn’t this surprise me. Governor Walker and the Repubs will win this one and
will bring WI back to the fiscally sound democracy that it once was. That was before the
dem’s started spending us into oblivion because of their union friends and they have
been bought and paid for by them. Think about it: a dem could never get elected in WI
if it weren’t for the union money that buys them. Take a seat SUMI! You will loose your job
also. And the governor does have the power to do that.
