Eric Holder: Black Panther Case Demeans “My People”

What is he… A black nationalist?
What about the rest of America?

Nothing to see here folks. Move along.

Eric Holder told the House Appropriations subcommittee that the New Black Panther voter intimidation case demeans “my people.”
The Politico reported:

Attorney General Eric Holder finally got fed up Tuesday with claims that the Justice Department went easy in a voting rights case against members of the New Black Panther Party because they are African American.

Holder’s frustration over the criticism became evident during a House Appropriations subcommittee hearing as Rep. John Culberson (R-Texas) accused the Justice Department of failing to cooperate with a Civil Rights Commission investigation into the handling of the 2008 incident in which Black Panthers in intimidating outfits and wielding a club stood outside a polling place in Philadelphia.

The Attorney General seemed to take personal offense at a comment Culberson read in which former Democratic activist Bartle Bull called the incident the most serious act of voter intimidation he had witnessed in his career.

“Think about that,” Holder said. “When you compare what people endured in the South in the 60s to try to get the right to vote for African Americans, and to compare what people were subjected to there to what happened in Philadelphia—which was inappropriate, certainly that…to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line, who risked all, for my people,” said Holder, who is black.

The ACLU has replaced legal authority. This is insane!

The leftist civil rights group that serves as a de facto branch of Obama’s Justice Department is ordering California law enforcement agencies to stop arresting illegal immigrants and ignore federal detainers usually placed on those with criminal convictions or deportation orders.

I thought he was the A.G. for all the American people, not just “his people”. It is shameful that once again the race card is laid out by this administration. This has nothing to do with race, they clearly broke the law.

  • Post racial period my ass. That comment alone should be enough to remove him from office.

I wonder what Holder has to say to the elderly black women who were prevented from voting in the 2008 caucuses because they were not Obama supporters?

The Obama campaign had ACORN intimidating voters.

Typical Obama tactic, distorting what his opponent said.

Bartle Bull said it was the most serious act of voter intimidation HE HAD WITNESSED in his career. He wasn’t comparing it to what blacks endured in the South in the 60s.

Holder, like Obama, is instinctively dishonest. He can’t help it, apparently.

  • rcmor

So happy there was someone who kept pushing and pushing this back into the news. Thank you Congressman Culberson.

  • rbosque

I thought justice was blind…guess not! What he’s doing is justifying lynching back in the day.

  • retire05

Ok, so now it is clear that not only do we have a Justice Department that will uphold only those laws that Eric Holder, and Obama, feel are Constitutional, we have a Attorney General who will not uphold the law due to past injustices.

We are no longer a republic; we are a kingdom.

  • retire05

Beachcomber, let’s not forget who Bartle Bull is. He was a prominent lawyer who fought for civil rights in the South and was a state campaign manager for Bobby Kennedy’s run for president.

Bull testified that in all his civil rights work, he had never seen a case of voter intimidate as severe as the New Black Panthers case. Yet, Holder decided to dismiss a case that WAS ALREADY WON in the lower courts.

Our Department of Justice is now irrepairably corrupt and the only way to clean it up is to make Obama “one and done.”

  • Beachcomber

He was talking about his Justice Department staff, morons….

Liar. Anyone with half a brain can see that he was talking about blacks.

…to describe it in those terms I think does a great disservice to people who put their lives on the line, who risked all, for my people.

You’re saying Holder is talking about people who put their lives on the line and risked all for the Justice Department staff? Who, exactly, are those people who risked everything for the Justice Department staff?

  • CatoRenasci

Holder’s comments — especially given that Bartle Bull was not some right-winger, but a guy who was a former Democratic activist — absolutely disqualify him to be Attorney General of the United States. He should be impeached.

  • Ladue Pundit

Holder, like all the other racial quota mongering leftists, has his feet firmly planted in the South during the 1960s.

“The fact that Mr. Holder, while Deputy Attorney General, pushed for the release of 16 violent FALN terrorists against the advice of the FBI, the US Attorneys who prosecuted them and the NYPD officers who were maimed by them, suggests that he was perfectly willing to put politics before the national security interests of the country. He is not suited for the job of attorney general, which is central to the issues surrounding the disposition of war on terror detainees. “-michellemalkin.com

Did we expect anything different from Holder? odd that the only true opposition left in America is a mother of two preschoolers who’s association with the tea party is a few public meetings and facebook.

No concreteblue – you are the moron. “My people” clearly isn’t a reference to his office staff. Holder is speaking as if he is AG only of African Americans; he is so filled with racist thought that he has not accepted he is AG for all Americans.

  • toongoon

A lot of people put their lives on the line to work for the civil rights cause, both black and white. What came of that is that government bodies could not discriminate against blacks and it also brought forth legislation making it a crime for private citizens to discriminate. However, over the years they pushed anti-discrimination laws too far and while most whites were accepting blacks as friends and coworkers and even neighbors the race baiters began inflicting racism against whites and hid behind the laws and the white mans guilt and turned the tables on the white man to point that we have seen blacks get away with all kinds of reverse discrimination. The people are starting realize that it got out of hand and they’re fighting back. Holder miscalculated when he thought he would be able to sneak this past us in the justice department and people wouldn’t say anything about it because of white guilt.

Every group wants “equality” and then tries to lord it over the population; womens rights, Homosexuals. If we want to be equal, we need to stop at equal.

After reading cb’s #14, I can’t help but wonder whether he/she is a satirist, and one of us, just putting us on.

I’m serious. No other explanation fits as well at that one, except maybe….

…concreteblue is part of the Dreaded “Anonymous” group. A 4chan-type reject (look it up) would do just what this character is doing:

    1. post the most outrageous, backward, up-is-down, plain old wrongheaded comments,

    2. derail any serious conversation in the thread by making himself/herself the reigning topic

    3. (2nd most importantly) sow chaos in the thread

    4. (most importantly) ….enjoy the “lulz”. (again, look it up.)

The (IMO, demonic) net subculture known loosely as “Anonymous” which is associated with the term “lulz”, and other Netmeme-worship, is a phenomenon which many are still, after almost 20 years now, mostly unaware. And they DO what this concreteblue is doing. They do it in forums, they do it in chatrooms, they do it with prank phone calls. It’s all about the chaos and the “lulz”, which is not the same as, though derivative of, “LOL”. This is more sinister, and reliant upon causing pain, chaos, fear, and more.

Used to frequent a Christian chatroom, long ago, on yahoo. These “anonymous” folks, all from just a few message-boards such as 4chan, IRC, etc, would come in and “play-act” a person who is suffering, or seeking, or wanting prayer. They would become the center, for as long as they wished. All for the laughs. And all to sow chaos.

People are so easily deceived, and these folks know this. They called an old man in a hotel room, randomly, recently. Convinced him that there were cameras in his room, convinced him to damn near destroy the whole room, including trying to tunnel into the next room through the wall using a chair-leg or something. Talked him through the whole thing. Just for the kicks.

Satan stalks the earth, deceiving, and folks best be praying for discernment.

I think he’s real. Every now and then he gets all plaintive and querulous and complains about people being mean to him.

The problem for him is that his side is getting more and more indefensible, so when he’s confronted with something like the Holder quote, he has to spin like an Iranian centrifuge. He has to post literal insanity to try and explain what his side is doing.

So he comes across as a satirist. His side is now officially beyond satirizing.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have to add to this comment. The South is more racially “with it” than most of North America. Not the case in the 60’s….yes….I know that. BUT, we are majority REPUBLICANS now, check the political map.

If you know the Democratic Party’s history, then you know the ignorance perpetrated about today’s South is just that…ignorance, but it is willful because the truth is there.

In the 1960’s, if Holder had said “my people,” the Democrats would have strung Holder up on a tree along with his family and any white person that sympathized with him. They didn’t just hang blacks, they also strung up white Republicans with the blacks. Ever notice how no one ever mentions that?

I will tell you something that I am not proud of. My grandfather was a staunch Democrat. He confided in me once that he and a friend were flying his plane over the Mississippi River when his friend started laughing about throwing a whole family of blacks out of his plane in that very spot a year back. I nearly threw up. My grandfather cut all ties with that man. He died a Republican. Southern Democrats are running the Democrat Party, and I am frankly pissed that the progress the South has made is greatly ignored. There are no race wars here. I could go to any black family in this city and ask for help and it would be given, and likewise. We have the greatest percentage of black population here, yet no race wars? Could that be due to Republicans being in power??

Mr. Holder’s statement offends me because: 1.)Which party he affiliates with; I see them as the KKK. 2.)That he would insult my intelligence about the reasons why he is joined with the KKK. 3.)That he cries “my people” knowing that he supports the KKK. He has no “people” except his lover, Obama and whoever his lover is.

If Holder was so concerned with “my people” then why doesn’t he close Planned Parenthood? That was developed to eradicate “my people.” He’s full of shite. His people is nothing but a figment of his warped imagination.

I can tell lots of stories of Democrats here in the South, and I assure you they don’t give a damn about a black person. They wish they were all dead, and they aren’t shy about saying it to another white person. Bleeding hearts my butt…they are the most vile subhuman feces I know.

This whole administration is ignoring our laws!

Judge in Louisiana found that drilling ban was unconstitutional, they went ahead with it anyway. Same judge has now found them in contempt, they ignore him. Obama care found unconstitutional by federal judge, they are ignoring it and going on with implementation as if nothing happened. Holder has decided that the DOMA is unconstitutional even though that is in no way a function he has, especially win courts have found the opposite. Holder has refused to prosecute “his people” in opposition to federal law.

Who is Bartle Bull? Yes I do know that answer 🙂 . My point is that Bartle Bull is a Democrat civil rights person. In the 1960s Bartle Bull, a white man, along with many other white people, including Mary Jo Kopeckne marched for the civil rights of blacks.

In other words, Bartle Bull had seen the civil rights abuses of the 1960s up front and personal.

Why should the words of Bartle Bull, who saw the intimidation in PA up close and personal, and who had experienced the civil rights abuses of the 1960s be dismissed in such a cavalier fashion?

Like Auntie Em says: the Democrats were the ones behind the KKK. It was the KKK who had intimdated the blacks, and the Republicans so that the Democrats had control of the various Congresses around the country.

The intimidation was at the hands of the Democrats in the 1960s and the intimidation is at the hands of the Democrats in the 2000s.

“For 12 long years I lived within the narrow-minded confines of the ‘straitjacket world’ created by my strong belief that Elijah Muhammad was a messenger direct from God Himself, and my faith in what I now see to be a pseudo-religious philosophy that he preaches.. I shall never rest until I have undone the harm I did to so many well-meaning, innocent Negroes who through my own evangelistic zeal now believe in him even more fanatically and more blindly than I did.”

By his own words he admits these are his people. Brilliant. He is an admitted racist who wants to kill white people and their babies. He is a perfect example of what you get with the Obama regime. Perfect example.

I’m so sorry, it was Phil Hendrie and the guy’s name was Professor Emory Clayton. Worth listening to.

It appears Holder’s remark about “his people” was possibly misinterpreted:

Eric Holder is a class one ass-clown. His total refusal to enforce the laws of the land in a fair and unbiased way (as his position requires him to do) has undermined the credibility of the entire Justice Department and rendered it’s decisions virtually meaningless. So I think it’s about time ‘We the People’ started showing these idiots the level of respect they deserve by simply disregarding whatever they tell us to do. Let’s lay a little unyielding passive resistance on them and see how they like that.

When the citizens of this great country collectively decide to ignore the Administration’s lunacy and simply carry on with our lives until the time comes to replace them all at the ballot box, then there’s not a whole lot they can do about it… unless of course they want to start going all Qaddafi on us (in which case I say bring it on).

Sad, very sad — and at the same time, exhilerating, knowing that what we are witnessing is the unfolding of prophecy before our eyes, and a real verification of all we’ve believed about the Word.

The red carpet is being rolled out for Christ. The “birth pangs” have not only begun, but the “contractions” have gotten quite long. He is close, and we need to be looking up, and preparing our hearts and minds.

Victory is close, and inevitable. After much pain, shall His Glory be revealed to all.

Thank you for this Taq. I got chillbumps reading it. He is coming!!! And while those words are what I have longed to hear since age 8, as an adult, I am frightened. It is very hard to stay pure of heart and mind with all of this going on. The Word says to think on those things which are good and of good report, and that has to be our key; although, he made some of us watchmen on the wall. The balance of good thoughts and watching is a tricky one.

I had not seen the rest of this story. Wonder why the media left it out?

So what’s the problem with Holder’s comment here? Do you dispute that Jim Crow is worse than a couple of futureless wasteoids who stood outside a (as in one, single) voting station and looked angrily at people? For god’s sake, a stiff breeze is more threatening to your freedom than these clowns.

Attention white people: your voting rights are not in danger. You comprised 74% of the electorate in 2008, and +90% of people in elected government. That is all.

  • the truth always comes out. he doesnt consider himself an american first and foremost.

    and thier you have it.

    clarity.

  • anyone want to take a crack at what they think would happen to a white AG who said “my people” in reference to race?

  • ClaudiaR

Concreteblue – Read it again, “Think about that,” Holder said.

He clearly is referring to “HIS people – BLACK’S. Wake up!

  • dittoheadadt

Where in the AG’s quote is the word “demean?” It’s nowhere to be found. It’s in the story, and in the headline, but Holder (a man who I despise as AG) did NOT say the Black Panther case demeans his “people.”

What’s wrong with you people? Can’t you read? Can’t you follow a logical progression of thought and words???

What Holder said was that comparing what the Philly people endured to what the people in the 60’s South endured does a “disservice” (NOT “demeans”) to the people (NOT just blacks, but whites, too) who had to endure what was thrown at them in the South in the 60s while they tried to get the right to vote for African Americans (“my people” in Holder’s words). He didn’t even come CLOSE to saying the Black Panther case “demeans my people.” He said that COMPARING the people who suffered at the hands of the Philly Black Panthers to the people who suffered in the South’s 60’s trying to get enfranchisement for blacks is what does a “disservice” to blacks (“his people”). It’s the COMPARISON, numbnuts, NOT the fact of the Philly BP actions. Jeez Louise.

Honestly, people, you are all a bunch of ignoramuses if you have such problems with reading comprehension.

I despise the Left and Obama (my license plate says “NOBAMA”) and Holder and this whole crew, but THIS issue has been TOTALLY misrepresented and misreported. Good grief. If we’re going to attack the Left, we ought to be smart enough to recognize the issues that exist and those that don’t.

  • Dennis

And I’m guessing when the left compares Republicans to KKK members, that doesn’t demean the struggles of “his people”?

  • Mark

Let’s see…. the left calls GWB a chimp, “Chimpie”, no big deal.

Apply that to Holder??? RAAAAACIST! Grow up, learn what EQUALITY means.

  • Wendy

Time for a movement to oust Holder as Attorney General….my people? Isn’t he suppose to represent all Americans. Piss off!

  • Artie

Is this how we “unite our country”?
By exacting revenge on the white people?
Read Obama’s book “Dreams from my Father” he wrote in the 1990’s.

He tells you in his own words how much he resents white people.

  • fedup

Obama and his dirty band of hinchmen are doing everything in their power to create a civil unrest that will hopefully, on their part, lead to an uprising. Holder needs to go! All United States’ citizens should contact their Senate and Congress and request that they ask for Holder’s resignation.
