Someone needs to send this to Bill Kristol

Did anyone else see Code Pink founder Medea Benjamin at the Cairo protests last week?

The radical anti-American Marxist founder of the far left group sure appeared at ease as she walked around Tahrir square and handed out roses.

Now we know why.
Code Pink and the far left has had a long relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood terror group.
They held a joint anti-Mubarak protest together back in 2008.

Here’s the video—–

“It’s the same case.”
In 2008 Cindy Sheehan said her son’s death in Iraq and the imprisonment of Muslim Brotherhood members was the same thing.
Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink held a protest together with the Muslim Brotherhood in Cairo back in February 2008.

Cindy Sheehan stands in front of a poster showing her son Casey and members of the Muslim brotherhood in Cairo(?). The sign reads, “It’s the same case.” (Aljazeera)

Cindy Sheehan traveled to Egypt in February 2008. She was there to protest for the release of the Muslim Brotherhood members detained by the Mubarak regime.
Aljazeera interviewed Cindy in Cairo:

Aljazeera: But what does the US have to do with a military trial in Egypt?

Cindy Sheehan: If we [America] really want to promote democracy in this region then we cannot silence the voices of the Muslim Brotherhood because they’re the moderate voice here and they are the ones who are actually working for democracy.

Aljazeera: Have you spoken to many of the families of the defendants in the military trial? Have you spoken to many female members of the Brotherhood mother-to-mother?

Cindy Sheehan: My conversations with the mothers and children of the detainees have been really emotional. They told me about the hardships [the arrests and trials] have placed on their families, from financial hardships to emotional and physical hardships.

It is very emotional for me because my family has gone through the same things since my son died. It has been really hard for us.

Ben Johnson at FrontPage Magazine wondered what Casey Sheehan’s death has to do with the radical ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood.
Good question.

These radical anti-American groups have been working together for years.

  1. I can’t believe how stupid these Americans are. I guess that’s freedom. Freedom to be as stupid as you choose.
These Code Pink idiots take it to a whole new level. Is Cindy Sheehan still around?

  2. Wait, but Bill Kristol and other joke conservatives told us we were imagining the alliance between the far left and radical islam!

  3. Though many of us can feel Sheehan’s pain of losing her son, it seems that event, for her, is certainly not conducive to rational thought. For many, compassion allowed her an open microphone. Now that she has risen to the level of enemy of democracy that compassion will evaporate and she will be just another screaming harridan of Code Pink.

  4. Useful idiots. Stalin was the first to realize this nature in people and then put it to use. I think he told them it was a celebration, before they were ……

    Mao took it from there.

I wonder what the outcome would have been if the people were armed?

  5. Sorry, but I still feel sorry for Cindy. She is so delusional and lost. She lost the only thing that mattered to her and she can’t help herself. Pathetic, yes. Sad, yes. Mentally ill, yes.

Code Pink is a whole other story…

  6. The people that use the 1st Amendment to destroy the Constitution and Bill of Rights are traitors to our country and have no place in our society. It seems that the left is always attacking those that stand for protecting and preserving the Constitution, while consoling those that want to do away with Liberty and Freedom. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure which direction we should be heading.

  7. These creeps are indeed allies, and the original demonstrators know it. Code Pink made an offer to raise funds for them, and some of them were bright enough to warn against accepting such an offer.

bg, do you have a link to that tweet from Sandomonkey’s place? I don’t.

  8. The demonstrators are holding out for a more credible process for reform, and the government has made some key concessions.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-12394941

  9. I bet Medea thinks the woman with the red hijab is her friend or something when she really hates her guts.

  10. There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end is death. This how I see these people. They think that they are doing the right thing and it will come back to bite them, and maybe many others.

  11. OK, I think my last post didn’t make it through, so I will try again. My apologies if it turns out to be a double.

Keep an eye on Wael Ghonim

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2011/02/wael-ghonim-google-egypt-interview-free.html

    http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/technology/2011/02/wael-ghonim-freed-google-exec-in-egypt-back-in-protests-back-on-twitter.html

I still hate Twitter, but that’s where the action is.

    http://twitter.com/ghonim#

The original demonstrators are as worried about the Muslim Brotherhood’s efforts to hijack the discussion. There is also a facebook group that has nominated Ghonim as spokesperson.

    http://www.firstcoastnews.com/news/usworld/news-article.aspx?storyid=190588&catid=6

Certainly it does appear that the Muslim Brotherhood is dominating the news, perhaps because they are the only group that is sending out press releases.

  12. What’s the relationship between Code Pink and the larger coalition of American leftist organizations/institutions/groups?

The typical response from the allegedly “adult” left is that it’s false and unfair to link Code Pink’s craziness to American leftist in general – that it’s guilt-by-association, etc. However, Code Pink is among the leftist groups receiving funding from Soros.

Hypothesis: the Code Pink-types of organizations appear to play a thankless but important role within left-activism. They’re supposed to do the most radical, fringe subversive “dirty work,” knowing that the “adult” left will publicly disown them while privately and indirectly supporting their efforts.

  13. I KNEW IT!

The leftists have created an unholy alliance with the islamists for decades.

    Enough is enough.

    They must be stopped!

  14. Send her out to get her genitalia mutilated.

Then, maybe she’ll be chirping a different tune.

  15. No, no, no.

The Democraps and liberals must not be allowed to try and distance themselves from Code Pink now that they’ve been caught aiding evil yet again.

The lieftist media routinely refers to them as “peace activists” and widely lionizes them.

Trying to pretend that Code Pink isn’t representaive of the mainstream left is like trying to pretend that moveon isn’t representaive of the mainstream left.

    BULLCRAP.

I used to be a hardcore leftist activist until a couple years ago. It’s exactly this type of treasonous crap that helped push me away.

    THEY ARE MAINSTREAM.

They have all kinds of Hollywood stars who do youtube vid projects for them, protest with them, etc.

They get praised and breathlessly defended on liberal blogs.

    Etc.

    Saw it all.

    Did it all.

Don’t let leftists try and act like they have nothing to do with these nutters.

    They’re lying.

    http://twitter.com/sandmonkey

I still hate twitter, but I am finding that it is a means of spreading news very quickly among large numbers of interested people: they can send links with short comments. So you can pick up on the news as they see it, and comment on it.

  23. “Cindy Sheehan: My conversations with the mothers and children of the detainees have been really emotional. They told me about the hardships [the arrests and trials] have placed on their families, from financial hardships to emotional and physical hardships.”

They don’t care if they are blown to bits, murder innocent bystanders, and become martyrs for Islam though. They would be much happier if Saddam Hussein was still alive and could give them some money for at least the efforts of their terrorist relatives.

  34. Our lives, our fortunes, and our sacred honor…..

bg, go ahead and post the tweets. The die has been cast, voluntarily, by the Sandmonkey.

I saw the Sandmonkey’s real name somewhere in this mess. It gave me chills, because he spent years safeguarding his privacy from the Egyptian government, which has been known to kill bloggers. The interview clip may be dark, but it would be easy enough to manipulate to get a clear picture of him, and of course, his voice is clear. So, the Egyptian government, the police, and the Muslim Brotherhood all know where to find him, now.

    This could get him killed.

But he and many of his friends are tweeting in english. I consider that permission, and maybe a plea for help.

  35. Yep, those Pinkos sure love islam. And all its “wonderful” parts. Hanging gays. Killing Christians. Oppressing women. Beating servants to death. How lovely! And the Pinkos support this.

  39. Bits and pieces of this interview of Wael Ghonim have been flying around on Twitter. Here it is, with english subtitles.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjimpQPQDuU&playnext=1&list=PLA90B1900FE67C0F5

It’s long. It’s in 4 parts. This interview took place the day he was released, I think. To me, the most surprising part was that there are elements of the Mubarak government that are paying attention.

Here’s the text, if you can stand to read it that way.

    Announcement Sunday, Feb 6, 2011: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-02-06/suleiman-egypt-opposition-agree-to-form-panel-for-constitutional-changes.html
