A leader of the Muslim Brotherhood today told the Egyptian Army to prepare for war with Israel.
Forex reported, via Israelly Cool:
Mohamed Ghanem, one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, calls Egypt to stop pumping gas to Israel and prepare the Egyptian army for a war with it’s eastern neighbor.
Speaking with Iranian television station Al-Alam, Mohamed Ghanem blamed Israel for supporting Hosni Mubarak’s regime. Ghanem also said that the Egyptian police and army won’t be able to stop the Muslim Brotherhood movement.
There are doubts about the loyalty of the Egyptian army to president Mubarak. If the brotherhood takes control over Egypt, it will be very messy from the whole region.
Related… Barack Obama will go down in history as the president who lost Egypt.

This is a little daft.
So the Egyptian army isn’t so sure they’re going to shoot protesters in the street to keep Mubarak in office.
But they’re going to listen to a bunch of Muslim Brotherhood crazies and go marching off to get their own selves killed?
I’m not seeing this as a short-to-medium term concern.

enough is enough, WWIII is inevitable. we are just waiting to see who aligns themselves with the Mohammedans.
Stuart commented:
The MB had better rethink its position. Egypt is the very definition of a one bomb country. A tactical nuke on the Aswan Dam and Lake Nasser relocates itself to the Mediterranean Sea. In the process,-which would take about three days- Egypt becomes an ex nation. This event has the added feature of leaving the Suez Canal intact. Roughly 80% to 90% of Egyptians live along the Nile. Only the good will of Israel, and the fact that Israel is civilized keeps the Egyptians heads above water. In an existential conflict that good will and civilized behavior may be sorely tested.

If they want to get their asses kicked again, well, that’s up to them.
With a newly-hostile Egypt, what’s the downside to the other side of the Suez being Israel-held territory?

More fear, ok, let’s invade Egypt! Oh, wait, our Army is trashed from years of Iraq & Afganistan. Besides, there is No OIL in Egypt, not good business for military/Industrial complex.

The very definition of Stuck on Stupid you know. The Arab world has done exactly this thing in 48/49, in 1956, 1967, 1973-4, 1982-1985, with lesser conflicts scattered throughout right up to 2006. I know there was one ~70/71 because my ex’s unit was on standby for that one. In each and every case, those in “control” (or who wanted to be) in the Arab world deflected all of the thousands of legitimate complaints about their rule and Arab living conditions onto the Jews. This scenario has worked for close on to 100 years. Might as well try again.
My big worry is the “President” IWon WTF “prettiest sound in the world” Obama will, unlike past presidents , literally feed Israel to the wolves.
Blacque Jacques Shellacque commented:

Hey Stupid, read this carefully: Israel can handle them, like they’ve done several times before.
Ipso Facto commented:
And they think Israel will just sit back and take it in the shorts…I don’t think so.
They never learn. And this time with the threat from Lebanon, Syria and Iran, Israel will deal with this situation as though it is an existential matter. That means one or the other entiry will not exist after its over. Wanna bet who prevails?
Dave-O commented:
Israel would mop the floor with the Egyptian army with one arm tied behind its back – what did it take the last time around? 3 days? 6 days? less than a week anyway.
One strategic bomb to the Aswan Dam and it’s “surf’s up” for the Nile River – Israel can sit back and watch the water take 80-90% of the Egyptians for a big swim downriver into the Mediterranean. Perhaps the entire country could use a general “clean-out” at this point in time anyway and the Israelis are just the folks to “git ‘er done”

Are they checking to see how far Obama is involved in this uprising? His friend William Ayers was there training these people last year and his other friends from Code Pink are there now. How about it Soetoro? His fingerprints are all over this. He is a Muslim acting against the interests of America. I hope the FBI and others can see it now. I don’t know how much more evidence they need. He acts so, so innocent about it all, right Barry. Hillary Clinton needs to be looked at as well as the State Department. The Wiki Leaks came right from them. George Soros funded Wiki Leaks through OSI.

I call BS on this one. This is the typical dog whistle type post to get folks all excited.
The MB or Ikawan or whatever is outlawed in Egypt so it isnt like the army gives a s–t what this guy says.
Everyone should read the Looming Tower by Lawrence Wright, this explains the story of the beginnings on the MB and it’s philosophy. If we want to deal with these guys effectively we should
educate ourselves instead of believing every story someone digs up on the internet.

If the tinderbox gets lit, it will be a different ballgame for the Israeli’s. True, they averted disaster the last time, but things have changed, munitions are more sophisticated, and they will get it from all sides. I sincerely hope Israel prevails, but this one will go far longer than 6 days, or two weeks or 1 year.
I am absolutely disgusted with this gutless, inept administration for allowing this situation to occur. (or fomenting it)

I agree with Redwine. The purpose for responding to trolls is sometimes as Redwine has stated: to convince readers other than the troll. Usually you can tell if a troll is unwilling to be affected by reason and argument — the very definition of a troll, really — but there are quite a few others reading these comments, and not all who are on the fence are unable to be swayed by reason, links, facts, and logic.

what rubbish, they must have been talking to Barry..
Trust the Egyptian people
[Protesters in Egypt are not burning our flag or Israel's; they are burning images of the dictator Mubarak. If we fail to stand in solidarity with what has been primarily a secular uprising, America's lack of support for change will be touted by Islamic hardliners.]
