MISSOURI VOTERS REJECT OBAMACARE!

Prop C passes in Missouri!
Over 70% of voters reject the democrat’s nationalized health care plan.

WOW! The Show Me State showed Obamacare the door tonight.
Over 70% of Missouri voters rejected Obamacare by passing Prop c.
It’s too bad local KMOV St. Louis Channel 4 could not find any one who voted for the proposition.

Missouri rejects the Pelosi-Obama Rationed Health Care Plan

All eyes were on Missouri today. The Show Me voters were voting for or against the new federal health care law.
Missouri showed Obamacare the door.
FOX KC reported:

Election officials are hoping the heat won’t keep people from getting out to vote. One of the hottest races in Missouri is Proposition C. It’s an issue that is getting a lot of attention across the country.

All eyes will be on Missouri’s Proposition C results because it’s the first time voters in the country vote for or against the new federal health care law. Basically Proposition C would create a state law against federal mandates requiring people to buy health insurance.

Missouri’s top U.S. Senate candidates are divided on the measure. If passed, it will will reject part of the new federal health care law. Republicans Roy Blunt and Chuck Purgason both support Proposition C. Democrat Robin Carnahan plans to vote against it.

Christie Herrara has more on Prop C at Big Government.

Republicans today were out in force to vote in the primaries. This likely helped Proposition C in Missouri.

Wow! What a rout!

UPDATE: Via Instapundit: Ed Morrissey: Missouri Pops The ObamaCare Media Bubble. “Bear in mind that over 315,000 Democrats turned out to cast ballots in the primary that nominated Robin Carnahan, while over 577,000 Republicans hit the polls. That is about a 65/35 split — which means that a significant amount of Democrats either supported the ballot measure repudiating ObamaCare, or didn’t bother to cast a vote to defend the program. Actually, Prop C got more votes than the combined voting in both Senate primaries — which tells us something even more about the passion in the electorate.”

  1. I want this to pass as much as you, but can you say that it passed when only a couple of precients are in?

  2. WOOOT!

  3. Guess it’s time for the journolists to go to work and tell us that this vote doesn’t mean a thing.

  4. Good on us!
    We showed em’ !!!!

    Just wait til November!

  5. Kato, and Obama won’t let a mere 70% deter his march forward in this Glorious Revolution.

  6. All the precincts are not reported in as 8:24 pm CST.

Please refrain from stating that Prop C has passed when all the votes are not in.

    Thanks.

  7. Great news! I see that as more precincts report the percentage is going up. Can’t wait to see.

  8. Looks like Missouri has about 73% racists.

  9. Yee-ha! The only concern will be when STL City and KC votes come in. But I bet low turn out in those areas on this hot, hot day.

Congrats to MO. You’re helping us all today!

  10. Makes me want to move to MO! Way to go!!!

  11. Oh boy, there’s going to be the mother of all temper tantrums in the White House tonight!

  12. And according to Hot Air, in Nevada a full 81% – yes Eighty One Percent! – of all Republicans have every intention of going to vote this time around. If we could pull off that kind of turnout nationwide this election and next we might actually have a chance of getting our country back on the rails.

  13. Peggy, it was 100 degrees today, it would take a lot of air conditioned busses, $50 SEIU issued checks and packs of smokes to get these generational democrats out the door to the polls on a day like this.
Thanks, Al Gore, for the global warming today, it’s the first thing you’ve done right!

  14. it says PASSING not passed…and in KC they are expecting a VERY low turn out today…

  15. Over 500 precincts reporting now and the percentage in favor is going up.

  16. 487 precincts, 74.2% Yes!

  17. I was an asst. supervisor today in a fairly liberal precinct. Several people told me as I was setting up their voting screen they came just to vote against Obamacare. I had to stay impartial, but inside, I was saying “YES!!!!”

  18. Heard this afternoon that Springfield MO was having a huge turnout.

For the first time in my adult life, I’m proud to tell Michelle chewbacca obama to pound sand!

  19. All i know is that the North/Mid-North St. Louis County area was reportedly VERY light turnout.. .which reportedly really helped, since it was a lot more Republicans and Libertarians voting than Dumbocrats

  20. It’s funny, I just tried to find the results to Prop C on the Post Dispatch online…couldn’t find it, even when I did a search.

  21. Eddie, you can follow the results here -

    http://www.sos.mo.gov/enrweb/allresults.asp?eid=283

  22. Missouri voters are proving themselves to be smarter than 5th graders, who are in turn smarter than a Pelosi and Reid led Congress. No wonder they are at 11% approval overall.

  23. Hoorah!

  24. Wow, today is an excellent day! MO is showin’ Obamacare the door on my 25th wedding anniversary. I couldn’t ask for more!

  25. I say that the voices of 70+% of the people (if the count stays this way) should send a loud message, but never fear the Demoncraps will just turn down their hearing aides.

  26. 842, 75.7%

  27. Granny how great would it be if the count got to– oh say– 90% We can dream!

  28. jainphx, I’m following along on that link I posted and it is now 76% – just galloping north! I’m not sure that I can recall any referendum vote on anything anywhere in the US having this high an approval. The Won is going to be an unhappy camper.

  29. While you’re watching the results have a peek at this – Congressman Calls for Execution of Wikileaks “Whistleblower”

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08/03/congressman-calls-execution-wikileaks-whistleblower/?test=latestnews

  30. Oh gee that just breaks my heart. The “One” is now about the “twenty” maybe less.

  31. jojo. I’m right across the river. I felt every bit of that 100+ today in our small town in metro stl. thank god for swim clubs!

  32. I’m a Missouri voter in the STL suburbs. The precinct was slow when I voted this afternoon and I was a little concerned. Now I’m wondering how long before AG Holder sues the voters of MO.

  33. Thank you, thank you, you wonderful people of Missouri!

  34. Proudly cast my YES vote today. Can’t wait for Obama to challenge this law, which will pass with about 700,000+ yes votes… Prop C is much more decisive and indicative of the will of the people than the piddly few hundred votes that passed Obamacare, cast by “representatives” that didn’t even read the 2,000+ page bill.

  35. Down, as far as I’m concerned we need a law in this country stipulating that our so-called representatives must personally read every stinking word of every bill they vote on. Read somewhere earlier this week that there is a bill under consideration right now that is more than 8,100 pages! (The article did not say which bill and I’m praying that is a typo.)

  36. It’s all fine and dandy but the people have no power. People in california have voted against gay marriage twice and it still won’t be approved by the judges.

Even if Prop C passes, the judges will overthrow it because they know better than the rest of us, they are the elite.

  37. Puts the elite “representative” class on notice: obey the demand of Multitude or the stakes get upped.

  38. There is a whole lot of upping of the stakes going on right now out in my former home state of Arizona -

    http://holgerawakens.blogspot.com/2010/08/video-showdowncounty-sheriff-vs-federal.html

  39. I hope doppy Holder sticks with the tax excuse to make us pay for the death care. WE The People have spoken….. Get ready the law suit is coming.

  40. Is Steny Hoyer holding a pocketbook as well as John Lewis’ hand in the picture? Looks funny.

  41. Glad for you Missouri I just other states do the same

  42. Buck Ofama!

  43. Jaimo, #42 – hadn’t noticed that. Yes, yes he is. I just fell out of the chair laughing!

  44. I love MISSOURI!!!!! Thank you, great Americans!!!!!!

Ooooo, I feel a tsunami a-comin’ in NOvember.

  45. Thanks Jim — This is great news. Bring on those lawsuits. Lets hope on this issue we are on God’s side.

  46. Missouri you showed us the way now its up to the rest of us to follow.

  47. Okay, they are up over 1600 precincts reporting, pretty close to half way and still up over 75%. I think we can call this :)

  48. Anyone know of a source for “Repeal Obamacare” yard signs in the STL metro area?

  49. But wait Al Franken’s votes haven’t been counted yet.

  50. This is what happens when the Ruling Class rules contrary to the will of the governed.

A large majority of Americans adamantly opposed ObamaCare and told that to their representatives, over and over again. But the Democratic Party in its arrogance would not listen. It imposed laws we hate, and told us to go eff ourselves.

So, as with the immigration issue, Americans have no option but to turn to their state governments. And if Democrats defecate Card Check and Cap & Trade on unwilling citizens, state governments will take back even more power from Washington.

Obama and the Democratic Party have provoked a constitutional crisis that was stupid and unnecessary.

  51. I was a poll supervisor at a Saint Ann precinct – a precinct that voted about 65% for Obama in 2008. Even in this precinct, Prop C was winning.

I don’t think St. Louis is going to shift the results away from a dominating Prop C victory.

  52. Buffalobob #53

You mean Al Franken’s votes haven’t been counted AGAIN.

  53. Bless you, dear Missouri.

  54. great news!
TYRANTS never sleep..& neither will MISSOURI!

  55. Houstonians against illegal aliens please visit my site: http://www.stopthemagnet.com I’m preparing for a petition drive for E-Verify.Join the registry.

  56. Thank-You to the patriots of Missouri.

  57. St. Louis City is in:

    12,456 – no
    8,559 – yes

That’s only a 4,000 vote margin against in St. Louis City. With a 335,000 vote lead, that’s not going to cut it. :)

    St. Louis County is in:

    47,484 – no
    74,180 – yes

That’s right: St. Louis County voted YES on Prop C!

  58. They must have heard what happened recently in what’s touted as the *best* in socialized medicine:

A man in Sweden tired of the wait in the emergency room to have his leg stitched up, so he took a needle and did it himself. He’s been reported to the police for this arbitrary act. (via Drudge and, maybe, Don Surber)

    Thank you, Missouri!

  59. I’m in Kansas City. When I entered the polling place during lunch hour, there was nobody signing to get a ballot, and only one person was in a voting booth. Two more people came in while I was actually voting. And that was during the lunch hour, so there’s no doubt turnout was pretty low.

As I’m looking at the results for the U.S. Senator, as of right now there’s about 205,000 votes for all the Democratic candidates and about 462,000 votes for all the Republicans. So about 69% of all voters today voted Republican, 30% voted Dems, and the remaining 0.5% voted other.

But Prop C is winning by 73.5%. So if every Republican and every person who voted for an “other” voted for Prop C, that means about 3% of Democrats also voted for it. (Assuming every Republican and every person who voted “other” is unlikely, but it’s a useful assumption to estimate the minimum percentage of Democrats who voted for it).

One thing is for sure, Republican enthusiasm is huge in Missouri right now for them to come out in such large numbers relative to Democrats.

  60. Thank you Missouri!!

  61. Happy Birthday obama!! A little gift from Missouri!! PROPOSITION C 75% Win!

  62. The media pundits are all reporting this overwhelming rejection of Obamacare as meaningless since federal law supersedes state law. I guess we know how the pundits all voted – LOSERS! Bring on the law suit Eric Holder. Missourians are ready to fight to defend our liberty.

  63. Victory…sweet sweet victory.

  64. Good for Missouri!

Not to rain on the parade here, but I suspect this will last only until someone with time on his hands files a lawsuit against the State of MO in Federal court to stop the will of the people.

  65. Pretty amazing how the vote results turn out when ACORN is shut down.

  66. “Down, as far as I’m concerned we need a law in this country stipulating that our so-called representatives must personally read every stinking word of every bill they vote on. Read somewhere earlier this week that there is a bill under consideration right now that is more than 8,100 pages! (The article did not say which bill and I’m praying that is a typo.)”

I used to think they DID. Until about a year ago. I thought it was their job, to read and soberly consider all the laws.

Little did I know they don’t bother!!!

And great on the Missouri thing!

  67. “The media pundits are all reporting this overwhelming rejection of Obamacare as meaningless since federal law supersedes state law.”

Maybe legally. But it makes a helluva statement and looks good doing it.

    Good job, Missouri. Well said.

Today (coming) is supposedly Obama’s birthday, based on, well, uhm, a newspaper announcement in the personal ads. That’s all we’ve ever seen. Hmmph! Stuff it, O!

  68. Jaimo #42 Great catch, looks like Nancy has Hoyer carrying her purse. What a great poster for the fall elections it begs for so many captions addressing Socialist manhood.

  69. currently 72.7% Precincts Reporting 3007 of 3354.

Missourians just don’t understand what Obamacare is doing for them. Fox, Beck, Palin, Tea Partiers, racists …Bush, etc. are all spewing misinformation and confusing the facts. It’s time for Obama to run an informational campaign in MO and get the FCC to ban those Fox people and radio, and the internet, and…private meetings involving tea party people.

Way to go Missourians. You can add yourselves to the list of Patriots like our friends in Arizona.

  70. Not to put a fine point on it, but Hoyer is also holding the hand of the guy next to him. Priceless!

  71. November is going to be vewwy vewwy interesting.

  72. Watched the video. Not only could they not find any one who voted for the proposition, they made comments to the effect that it didn’t matter anyway.

And one of the guys interviewed said it wouldn’t do anything but “cost us a lot.”

Oh those frivolous little people. They do insist on trying to have their way, don’t they? Don’t they know they should just shut up and sit down and let their rulers do as they please?

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OBAMA, you piece of garbage . . .

  73. http://www.sos.mo.gov/enrmaps/20100803/ballot_Issue_map.asp?eid=283&oTypeID=20&Tuesday, August 03, 2010

Kansas City and St. Louis CITY, the only counties opposing C (and supporting the Obamacare mandate). No surprise there. Well done, MO!

  74. Jim, I’m glad you have this wonderful piece of news to celebrate, from your home state, even, as you recuperate.

Everything you have done helped bring this about.

  75. Arizona and now Missouri, best of luck and thank you for paving the way. You grand state has upheld your state’s Show Me moniker.

  76. I wonder what the that HAG McCASKILL thinks about her constituents today.

    Spin baby spin.

  77. Heck yes! Congratulations to the voters in Missouri for being the show me state – show me the way out of oppressive federal governmental intrusion.

WELL DONE and thank you for paving the way with Virginia!

  78. UP YOURS, SOBama!

  79. Alana, that’s KMOV for you .. They’re tried to drink and spread as much of the Obamacare-koolaid as they could.

Connors sometimes ‘tries’ to show impartiality, but the entire network staff itself goes out of their way to try to back Obama at every chance they get.

  80. Happy Birthday President Obama. Don’t let this setback wreck your Birthday… remember, Flotus is out of the country, and this is only one of 57 states.

  81. Gosh, perhaps cramming this down the throat of American people was a strategic mistake after all!

This turkey will be repealed, either in 2012 when enough Democrats see another tsunami and throw Bamster under the bus or 2013 when the new president takes office.

Couldn’t have happened to a nicer bunch of fascists.

  82. Bammy! send in the tanks and drones! the 10th amendment is still alive!

  83. Thank you, Missouri and thanks be to God.

  84. I was on my knees praying for our amazing Republic the other night, as millions of others have. This is an answer to our prayers. We’re starting to see a turn-around in reaction to Obama’s socialist tendencies. We have a long way to go. Keep praying.

  85. I bet Claire “Why so socialist?” McCaskill is looking a lot like her poster at this point while seeing the writing on the wall.

  86. MO has sent Ovomit a strong message and to complete the day send the Illegal Resident in the White House a personalized birthday card…I sent mine!!

    http://www.happybirthdayfromaz.com/

  87. Obviously, us “common” uneducated folk who aren’t educated at an Ivy League school don’t know what’s really good for us.

That means more campaign stops to sell the American public on health reform. Another informercial from One Big Awful Mistake America coming to a TV near you!

  88. Andy Griffith won’t be pleased!

  89. Wow, that has got to hurt.

But it shows us all, even those who foolishly voted for Claire McCaskill, can see the light.

I mean, how insane was a large body of the American Public, who enabled and empowered this Democratic Partisan insanity in 2006 and 2008?

THREE CHEERS For the SHOW ME STATE !

Wishing I could thank everyone in MO personally, just like the feeling after the elections in NJ, VA, MA, etc., only a short time ago.

We have to send the Democratic Partisans packing, and say ‘never again’.

  90. I wish I were a fly on the wall of the room where the Punch-drunk old boxer and the BotoxBiddy were when they heard Prop. C passed! They must be gritting and gnashing their dentures!

  91. Eeeeeexcellent
    *tenting fingers like Mr. Burns*

Of course, one look at Arizona and you understand that this adminstration’s going to do what it does best- ignore the states until they’re directly challenged……

  92. The news is that the vote was overwhelmingly Yes, yet channel 4 interviews two guys who opposed the measure: the first guy wants you to pay for his insurance, and the second guy threatens you with the spectre of legal fees . . . two obvious Democrats. Fair and balanced.

  93. congrats mo – at what point will the dems stop
sqawking about the 52% obama racked up in 08′
    and maybe become more current?
and the essence of government and the not-so-bottomless pit of money – when best of intentions butts heads with reality………
    Saying Nope to SYEP
Does summer employment program deserve extra funds?
Getty Images On Monday, District residents’ tax dollars went to pay Summer Youth Employment Program participants to attend a Council oversight session at which they lobbied for more funding for the program.
It’s just the latest outrage surrounding one of D.C.’s best-intentioned and worst-run programs.
SYEP, which hires about 20,000 D.C. youth for various minimum wage summer jobs, was budgeted at $22.7 million. But it’s already $11.5 million over budget — an overrun of 50 percent.
    http://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local-beat/Say-Nope-To-SYEP-99826639.html

  94. It does not matter. Here is why.

    1. The courts are going to rule preemption.

    2. Obamacare is an entitlement and entitlement programs do not get repealed.

    3. The really onerous parts of Obamacare do not come into effect for a few years. So the Democrats will be able to say (before the 2012 election) — “look, that parade of horribles has not happened!” And once the thing gets fully into effect, it will be too late.

Sorry, I do not share the general optimism, but I cannot.

  95. Americans won’t trade freedom and liberty for a loaf of stale government bread, and they have the power to make it stick.

It’s time we showed Obama-Commie the door.

  96. The rebuke of this Administration and Democrat policies is going to be stunning come November.
Your either an American or your not. plain and simple.
    powder is dry.

  97. “Sorry, I do not share the general optimism, but I cannot.”

I do. That 73%-27% wipeout will be applied to nearly every Democrat who voted for this travesty in the House this fall.

The Democrats will cease to be anything other than the dying rump party of liberalism in this country. A permanent, hard-core, social and fiscal conservative movement is coming and entitlements are going to go the way of the dodo bird.

Time to stand on your own two feet, America. I’m not paying for you anymore and that goes for tens of millions of taxpayers like me.

  98. There are judges hating this moment. This will be plopped in front of them all over the country like the AZ case did a week or so ago. So many are liberals and will want to push forward the agenda, knowing full well when it gets to the SP they’ll be overturned and embarrassed.

    Cool.

  99. Here’s a middle finger for you Barry!

I CAN SEE NOVEMBER FROM MY HOUSE….

  100. Hey STUPID in the video! You think you are going to get hand outs from the fraud on his fake Obama care you have to many screws loose. Unless you turn muslim!

I don’t have insurance ither and I don’t want the supposed hand outs! You will pay for the frauds health care and get no services for it! You will be denied every time you call for a needed test!

Insurance companys aren’t the best but I will take them before the evil OB care…

  101. “we need a law in this country stipulating that our so-called representatives must personally read every stinking word of every bill they vote on”

In many countries – such as Great Britain, and I think also Canada – the national legislature is required to read each bill out ALOUD in the chamber before it gets voted on. A similar rule in Congress might prevent degrading farces like the clause in the financial deform law that exempts the SEC from public scrutiny. (The Democrats are now falling over themselves to repeal that clause, a few scant weeks after they enacted it. A pitiful spectacle.)

  102. ++

the more people out of work, the longer the “in need of the governments (aka: hamas et al style) assistance” line, the longer the line, the faster their (utopianists by any other name) entitlement (aka: welfare) agenda (aka: Cloward Piven Strategy: the most successful voluntary servitude [aka: slave] or die program on the face of the planet) gets pushed through via those in line via not only gratefully voting for the hander outers, but paying them for it.. /ironic truth sarc/

    ==

  103. Great Job MO!!

based on this popular upswell and other states, this will be ‘A November to Remember’

I look forward to the 2012 and 2014 Senate races too. Statistically the conservatives have a chance of a supermajority in the US Senate, the first time in 90 years. If we get that, let’s pass five (5) Constitutional Amendments that turn the tide against the progressives.

  104. So my fellow residents of Hooterville, what’s next? Shall we vote on how much we like curly fries v. roadkill?

This was great politics, but it will be lousy healthcare.

  105. I find it very ironic that all of you uber-Christians are giving this a very “Planet of the Apes” feel. Am I the only one who has a problem with the Minister of Healthcare also being the Chief Defender of the Political Faith?

    …you mainiacs…

  106. Obama overheard speaking to Rahm: “Referendum on Obamacare. I don’t need no stinkin’ Referendum on Obamacare! I won! They lost! What, Rahm, you say a majority of people who voted for me also just voted against me? Martial law! Martial law! I now need stinkin” Martial law!”

  107. Earth To Troll:

    The Autumn of the Left

The number of Americans who embrace the stupendous folly, the conspicuous malice, the selfish childishness, the sneering mendacity which struts around us wearing the label of “liberal” or “progressive” is even smaller than we have suspected.

    http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/08/the_autumn_of_the_left.html

  108. “So my fellow residents of Hooterville, what’s next? Shall we vote on how much we like curly fries v. roadkill?”

Keep effin that elitist chicken, Marie Antoinette!

  109. You’ve had some excellent people filling in during your absence, and they’ve done yeoman’s work.
Glad to see you’re feeling well enough to get back at the keyboard!

  110. What is hilarious is that many people, such as Obama and Pelosi, like to refer to our republic as a democracy. Ok, so be it. How are they going to look trying to negate the legitimacy of a clear democratic refutation of their definitive policy?

Read an interesting article the other day, can’t find it now, but it made this point concerning the lower courts injunction against Arizona. The judge has no authority in a case where the US sues a state. It goes directly to the Supreme Court.

So perhaps if Obama challenges this it can be taken directly to the Supreme Court while it still leans to the right. Let Roberts use it as a ‘teachable moment’ why Obama should not have ‘acted stupidly’ during his SOTU by attacking the court.

    Article III Section 2:

In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, AND THOSE IN WHICH A STATE SHALL BE PARTY, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction.

No lower court has original jurisdiction and a lower federal court does not have authority to make rulings.

That damned Constitution getting in the way of their best laid plans again.

  111. This is great! Also, to Jim, glad you’re back!

  112. Ha ha look at the Chkn Fryd walking around pecking at grit.
We see you for what you are.

  113. IOpian #133

The fact that the Supreme Court has original jurisdiction does not mean that it has exclusive jurisdiction. Congress has given the lower federal courts concurrent jurisdiction in most classes of cases where the Supreme Court has original jurisdiction.

  114. Robert,

    Can’t stop laughing….

  115. Bottom line according to BHO and talking points. Mo is racist and anti-American??

  116. BOYCOTT!!!

    Missouri is obviously racist.

…and not thmart, like all thothe people in New Yahk and Detroit and D.C….oh, yeah…and Austin.

    Yeah. Chkn Fryd’s funny lookin.

    Must be a city chkn.

  118. Congratulations to Missouri and America.

For the rest of the readers of this blog: THE AMERICAN CITIZEN RUNS THIS REPUBLIC AND SHE WILL NEVER BE USURPED. WE RULE! It does not matter what any court or government entity says they are going to do EVER. WE DECIDE what becomes law and what we will abide.
May God continue to hear our prayers, give us the strength to battle evil and bless his children always.

  119. Democracy is a tool of transition
from a republic to an oligarchy.

  121. We won!

We won the right to let the “free” market decide whether we deserve health coverage or not!

We won the right to see our nation’s healthcare system degrade into that of a Third World nation!

We won the right to allow profit-mad HMO executives to determine healthcare policy!

We won the right to express our inchoate rage at a mildly centrist administration in an utterly self-defeating manner!

Voters of Missouri, my beloved home, you have outdone yourselves yet again – Congratulations!

  122. “So my fellow residents of Hooterville, what’s next? Shall we vote on how much we like curly fries v. roadkill?”

    Just checked my crystal ball.

    I see a guillotine in your future…

    1. The courts may not reverse the voters. There is no enumerated authority to force citizens to purchase a product, so Obamacare is unconstitutional.

    2. Obamacare is not an entitlement program until it can deliver services which will not happen until 2014. It’s just a Medicare tax increase and a huge raid on Medicare funds to pay bureaucrats.

    3. Apparently. it isn’t necessary to tell the voters about Obamacare. This vote in Missouri demonstrates that they are well aware of what it is.

If the GOP picks up the house, all Obama’s programs are at risk. The house holds the purse strings and can zero out appropriations. If Obama vetoes the appropriations bill, he still has no funding. No Obamacare funds, no Obamacare!

Remember, Missouri is not just a swing state. It’s the bellweather.

  124. Living in KS but proud to be from MISSOURI

  125. If you count the Scott Brown election, this is vote number two on the issue.

  126. Too bad Napoleon-er-Lincoln (yes they both used Freedom as an excuse for tyranny) waged the War of Northern Aggression and forever extinguished the lamp of real Liberty in what was supposed to be Federation of Sovereign States.

No State can stand against an Imperial Federal government. They will just send in troops, as they did before, to override the will of the people. Time and time again the Congress has trampled the Constitution. That document no longer has any meaning. Even the Democrats in Congress have stated that they don’t follow it, and our President finds it hideously limiting.

The era of Pelosi and Obama is the final blow to our Liberty, but it was gone long ago..when one President realized he could have absolute power if he only shouted “Freedom!” as he conquered and destroyed.

  127. So Chkyn Fryd,
How big of a yacht do you actually have to have to become a Democrat Senator? How big does your daughter’s wedding have to be?

It sure must suck for you to see the white trash get uppity.

Remember when the downtrodden were supposed to be the subject of Democrat political help, not the object of Democrat scorn? I do. My dad was a Democrat and was buried in a Donkey tie. I am not glad he didn’t live to see this, but I can imagine what he would have thought.

This was great politics, but it will be lousy healthcare.

Hmmm . . . haughty lefty arrogance on display?

I especially like the certainty with which you mentioned the court’s likley verdict. Don’t be so sure anymore, especially after the 2nd Amendment verdixts.

Not entirely, but I just saw a court in California overturn a landslide popular vote today. I think that the situation is more desperate and dire than we realize. We retain the freedoms to RAISE these issues, but we no longer have the freedom to finally and fundamentally abolish the tyranny of the Left and their life-appointed water-carriers in the judiciary. They are one Supreme Court Justice away from being able to obliterate the light of Liberty forever. That’s too close to the edge for me, and once America is gone, there will be no home on the planet for free people.

  138. Bg & chicken fryd are so brainless and clueless that they fail to realize their faux haughtiness aimed at we the hoipolloi would not give them one drop of street credit when their leftist betters rounded them to be the first to be transported to their marxist idols’ gulags. Useful idiot never realize they are simply idiots once they have been seduced and sullied by their puppetmasters.

  139. The Elector of Saxony:

Oh Noes! We’re helpless. Good thing our Founders didn’t have your attitude way back when. I guess the states can’t push back with things like Nullification.

Read Patrick Henry’s speech at St. John’s Church again and then tell us that it’s all over.

  140. Virginia’s Attorney General, quoted in today’s Wall Street Journal:

ObamaCare…was “cobbled together in secret, passed by the Senate largely or totally unread, on a party line vote literally in the dead of the night on Christmas Eve.”

    Good work, Missourians.

  141. This does not look good for the dems in the ucoming senate race. If 70% of Missourians oppose Obamacare, and the dem senate candidate supports it, while the repub senate candidate promisses to repeal it, its likely the repubs will win the senate race.

  142. “Read Patrick Henry’s speech at St. John’s Church again and then tell us that it’s all over.”

Patrick Henry is dead, and so is the society he and his fellow English men of the Christian Faith birthed. 20% of the country would not understand the meaning of Patrick Henry, even if were translated into the polyglot of third world tongues they do understand.

If the country were still 95% White, European, and Christian, you could probably get through to them with the ideas of self-sacrifice, personal responsibility, and fighting for abstractions that they share as part of their UNIQUE cultural heritage. What we have now are sufficient millions who have no cultural frame of reference for such ideas, and wait with their hands out for whatever is on offer from the political classes.

The cry from millions sufficient to elect a President and frustrate patriots, is “Give me free stuff, and I will sell you my vote!” We have perverted the Liberty for which Henry pledged his life, such that it has become LICENSE for which our countrymen clamor. They don’t know the difference. We cast pearls before swine and are surprised when the swine don’t make necklaces and establish a pearl exchange. Fools!

  149. Ah, Missouri — 153 years since Dredd Scott and we haven’t learned a thing, bless their hearts. No matter how popular the Proposition, you all are going to see just how powerful that Constitution you carry in your back pocket really is — even popular laws can be struck down as unconstitutional. See everyone at the Courthouse! Jesus will be there (duh), and he might want to speak to some of your about your language.

    Round 1 to ya’ll.
