Here’s a look at the National Mall after the massive Restoring Honor Rally yesterday in Washington DC:

And, here is a look at the Post-Barackalyptic Wasteland back in January 2009 after the Inauguration of Barack Obama:

The litter on the National Mall after the Barack Obama inauguration was incredible. Barack Obama spoke to the need for more personal responsibility.
Don’t worry about the trash, someone else will get it.

  1. Point.

  2. Don’t worry about the trash, someone else will get it.

    ===========

See! More jobs saved or created!

    Haters!

  3. One other thing – Beck’s rally yesterday appears to be at least as big as TheWon’s inauguration. From the previous thread -

Addendum to those two contrasting videos – via Weaselzippers -

NBC News (via the NYT) estimated 300,000 people attended.

Officials do not make crowd estimates because they are unreliable and can be controversial, but event organizers put the number of attendees at 500,000; NBC News said it was closer to 300,000, but by any measure it was a large turnout. The crowd stretched from the Lincoln Memorial to the Washington Monument.

Notice that the Restoring Honor Rally yesterday was at least as big as TheWon’s Inauguration!

  4. First oby and his posse trash the National Mall and now they trash America.

BTW, notice all that global warming going on there at barrys inauguration?

  5. It’s been a tale of two rallies from the beginning, complete with media compliance to the left’s political agenda this year. Aim of that agenda? Convince the left-base and independent voters that the tea party and republicans are racists. Some of us out with no political affiliation whatsoever are NOT buying it!

  6. Granny,

The Restoring Honor Rally didn’t need to be as big as BO’s inauguration to get attention. The figure 3-500,000 is an astonishing number, on par with a heavily-attended 4th of July.

Here’s something that I’m linking here, just because it was too good to miss:

  7. Nothing new. It’s standard for the species Homo Stupidus (aka the common left winger) to drop his garbage where he feels like it during such events. This behavior can be observed from Japan to India, from Germany to Great Britain.

  8. I can barely stomach looking at what they did to the mall at his takeover celebration — and that is what he wanted to do to our country.

As far as the estimates in attendance, even if you go with the lowball by nbc at 300,000 plus those of us who got to watch it via live stream and I have it screen printed at 130,363 that’s 430,363. Can you imagine what the reality count is?

Oh, and as far as wondering if we’re a minority, compare that to the 3,000 who attended Sharpton’s hatefest up the road. Uh… I’m so grateful I stand on the side I choose.

Best account of it yet, from the UK Telegraph as usual: http://bit.ly/9pejiV

  9. I believe Jivemaster was talking about the responsibility of one group to continue shoveling welfare checks, food stamps, tax credits for non-taxpayers, set-asides, quotas, subsidized rent and utilities, etc. to another group, while expecting nothing in return.

You know who is in each group.

  10. The quality of the people make all the difference in the world! One group cares and the other group feels like somebody owes them something. It’s as simple as that.

  11. The difference is that yesterday was a gathering of the we, we people, whereas the party for Barack was of the me, me people.

The we people are for freedom to live, and take responsibility for themselves and their environment.

The me people care nothing about anyone or anything but themselves.

  12. Way to listend to the words of Beckula himself. THIS is what you all consider turning to God? Us v. them? Clean v. filthy? Or do you all worship some finger-pointing Jesus according to the Gospel of “I know u r but what am I?” I’m sure Christ tried to “liberate” the “filthy” people too. It’s like I read it somewhere or something. “Least among us” people, “least among us.”

Hey, I’m not the One you have to answer to for getting wrong the message of Christ!

  13. Yep, the left is in meltdown mode!

Chicken lips (may you babble forever), this could almost have been written for you.

  14. ChknFryd pulls out the selective use of the Bible gambit. I guess he wants us to compare Jivemaster’s innauguration to Christ teaching the hungry and tired crowds.

There were more pounds of bling per capita at that innauguration than one would find at ten Beck rallies.

  15. Found this on another blog…. please spread it every where. by: Andrea Boccelli

I hope that I posted it so it goes through as a link.

  16. still peddling that stupidity Chkn crap… man up and admit it… even when the facts smack you in the face you still dont get it. keep talking you, just when i dont think you could get any dumber,…. you def. dont FAIL to disappoint. Typical lib, first if you “think” you are right, it’s you vs us, when you are clearly wrong, it’s “not about us vs them” Clearly you missed the message yesterday, it’s about accountability, BECK POINTS THAT FACT OUT MANY TIMES IN HIS SHOW, TRY AND KEEP UP. Clearly you cant see the irony, the left champions itself as eco friendly and the right as earth destroyers. The message of that is blatantly obvious but we didnt expect YOU to get it.

  17. Comments from someone who went to yesterday’s rally and also attended the original MLK rally 47 years ago.

  18. I was at a restaurant in Los Angeles yesterday and they had on CBS News. The newscaster reported the Beck crowd in the 10s of thousands. I believe it was the 4pm newscast.

  19. Wow. The Mall at the inauguration looks like the AZ border corridors where the illegal aliens travel :/

  20. good link Chisum

  21. Thanks, Sliderblaze. Poor Chickenlips’s head must be exploding.

  22. Talk about an omen. The DOTUS had arrived.

  23. Hey everyone here is a good one for chickenlip!

“It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think that you are a fool then to open it and remove all doubt”…

  24. Chicken lips seems to have forgotten who decided to make this a us and them nation, the elitist in control and the work force, forever picking up after them. He can try and spread his hate and fear but all see him for the useful idiot he is. Odd how he failed to address the point of this post, but then I suppose defending filth is difficult, or maybe in his world that is the norm.

  25. What an excellent post!

  26. Chykn Shiite is proof solid that we are winning. You don’t send people to sites where you are not wanted just for fun, no the desperation is obvious. Mr Chykn shiite you are not changing anyones mind, so why are you here?

  27. I have seen this type of good behavior elsewhere.
Go the the EAA Airventure in Oshkosh Wis.
On a typical Sunday there will be crowds of up to 300K. When the show is over the grounds are completely trash free.
Of course the folks involved are all aviation types, big on personal responsibility and attention to detail. Lacking those qualities one doesn’t fly safely (which is to say survive) for very long.
With the Obama crowds, just the opposite. Throw the trash in the gutter, thats what government is for, to pick up after ME, and give ME a job or failing that give ME,ME,ME, some money from Obama’s stash.
    You get the picture.

  28. The “Right” believe in “What can I do for my country.”
The “Left” believe in ” What can my country do for me.”

  29. Chykn Shiite is proof solid that we are winning. You don’t send people to sites where you are not wanted just for fun, no the desperation is obvious. Mr Chykn shiite you are not changing anyones mind, so why are you here?

in fact, i’d go a step further an say he/she is hurting their cause, it’s bat sh1t crazy talk like that that keeps me up at night, waiting for nov. 2nd to come around. 60 odd days of campaigning to go till nov 2nd, i can sleep on the 3rd. we have Pat Toomey up by 9 and Tom Corbett up by 10… holding strong.

  30. To be fair, most of the trash after the inauguration was paper and it was very windy–and I think the grass was dead from winter.
I would like to have seen the aftermath of the other rally going on in DC yesterday.

  31. This shows the difference between people who respect property rights and the ideals the Washington Monument represents and those who believe they are entitled to do whatever they want with no regard for anyone or anything else. Beck’s rally was about honor and personal responsibility – Obama’s inauguration (and entire administration) was about getting something for nothing.

  32. The Million Man March wasn’t – It was the 400,000 Man March.

The stink the MMM organizers raised when officials estimated the true number @ 400,000 is why they no longer estimate crowd sizes.

    Truth hurts.

What We Saw At the Glenn Beck Rally

    http://reason.com/blog/2010/08/28/reasontv-what-we-saw-at-the-gl

  34. From those noted liars at Catholic Online: ///

Glenn Beck’s Rally to ‘Restore Honor’ Gathers Half a Million Americans, Makes History

    http://www.catholic.org/national/national_story.php?id=38033

  35. The pictures speak more to an attitude about self-reliance and self-responsibility. Clearly one group took responsibility for their own garbage (and I will bet that a certain number picked up any stray piece of paper or whatever that they came across) while the other exhibited little evidence of even noticing the detritus around them…much less think to pick up even one piece of garbage. Not their finest hour.

  36. Beck has never once advocated simply surrenduring our nation or our principles to “them” Chknfryd. We are in good company. United We Stand – and we will NEVER surrender to the likes of you!

  37. epic videos.

  38. I suppose Madam Speaker will also be seeking an investigation into the “support” given each and every mall visitor yesterday – on the theory no one in her circle would willingly go there on their own, so it must be a corporate conspiracy of one type or another.

  39. Slider, if I do get you to the polls, its only becuase you are afraid to talk with me while I’m unafraid to sit among those who mean me ill will. Sounding right is not the same thing as doing right.

It’s not your sameness that makes you right, nor what makes America worth fighting for.

But, none of you heard that.

  40. First let me disclaim that I was there yesterday about halfway down the reflecting pool and everyone in our area left it very clean.

But, to be fair, this video does not show the main area that was populated by the rally goers because it is showing the area between the WWII Memorial and the Washington Monument (which is behind the person taking the video).

Notice, most of the people are walking in the opposite direction as the filmmaker (who is is walking toward the Lincoln Memorial) because they are leaving the main areas adjacent to the reflecting pool. Although there were some people here during the rally as evidenced by the aerial photos, this particular grassy location was not nearly as heavily populated as were the grassy areas adjacent to the reflecting pool.

My point is simply to say that I’m not sure the location of this video is the best representation of where the crowd was concentrated to be used for any type of comparison to any other event.

That being said, I will attest that everyone I saw was amazingly respectful. We all shared our chairs, water, food, and sunscreen with perfect strangers next to us. It was a day I’ll never forget and I’m so glad I went.

  41. This doesn’t say it all.

But. this does say a lot about the difference in how these groups see America

  42. What they did to the Mall, they will do to this country.

  43. Takes you back, doesn’t it?
