Sarah Palin: You Don’t Need an Office, Or a Title, Or a TelePrompter To Make a Difference
Sarah Palin lit up the Independence Events Center tonight.

Sarah Palin threw out the red meat during her terrific speech at the Winning Back America Conference in Independence, Missouri tonight. The crowd loved her. Here she urged the crowd to get involved,
“You don’t need an office. You don’t need a title. And, you don’t need a TelePrompter to make a difference.”
This is the final two minutes of Sarah’s speech where she lit the crowd up.
(Yes. I was stuck in the nosebleed section.)
Sarah Palin was terrific. J.C. Watts spoke and he was outstanding.
The Examiner has more on Sarah’s speech at the conference:
Sarah Palin felt at home Saturday in Independence as a hockey mom and as a maverick.
“Where else can a hockey mom feel right at home but right here in the home of the (Missouri) Mavericks?” said Palin, a former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential candidate, at the Independence Events Center before a crowd of 2,500 attendees. “It takes me back to 2008.”
Palin’s keynote address concluded Preserving American Liberty’s one-day event “Winning America Back,” featuring well-known conservatives providing their perspectives on the U.S. Constitution, health care reform and recently passed legislation in Arizona that affects illegal immigrants.
Before talking politics, Palin proudly displayed a Missouri Mavericks hockey jersey made just for her 2-year-old son, Trig, who has Down syndrome. Each morning, Palin said, Trig wakes up, rubs his sleepy eyes and applauds the day.
“I think that’s something we can all learn from,” Palin, 46, said.
Nice Deb has a great roundup of action from the day including video of Jon David singing “American Heart.”
And, Duane Lester from All American Blogger was also blogging today in Independence. Duane has video of Republican Stephen Broder who is hoping to defeat Texas socialist Eddie Bernice Johnson this year.

I take exception to those points. I have two things to say:
1. I need a teleprompter! Without one I would look stupider than a 2 year old child.
2. America sucks and it is not worth fighting for. That goes for America’s crappy troops whom I am trying to strangulate. I want to lose this war!
My limousine is running and Axelrod is trying to spin this terrorist plot in New York to make me look like a hero. Via La Raza. Good Evening.
Ed Schuster commented:
I’m 73 years old and never had many “heroes” in my life. The ones I did treasure were John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, and Rush Limbaugh. I’d now like to add another. It shall be Sarah Palin. Anything I could say would be redundant. She, eventually will be everone’s “hero.”

I’m trying very hard to understand this woman’s appeal. While she may be a sincere, nice person, I can’t discern any substance in her speeches. They’re cliche-ridden, devoid of any specifics. She has no political philosophy that I can see. She can deliver a speech that rouses the troops, but it seems to do so more by touching on some people’s sense of dissatisfaction and frustration more than anything else.

bg – you are so right – PALIN & WEST or WEST & PALIN – I don’t care which order – they are terrific and would make a dynamite team.
To James – Palin’s appeal is she speaks the truth and she loves this country. Which is more than I can say for the impostor now in OUR nations house.

Retired Geezer commented:
James,
Sarah Palin’s political philosophy is as clear as can be: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In contrast, Obama believes in ending viable life in the young and the old, regulating liberty out of existence and demonizing individual success. What’s not clear?
Rivka commented:
I was there. My favorite speeches were J.C. Watts and Kris Kobach. Palin was great too! What an incredible day it was!
It looked as if J.C. Watts didn’t use any notes. Someone yelled out “J.C. Watts for President!”, which everyone heard. He responded that he was trying to uncomplicate his life rather than complicate it-or something like that. He is a solid person with a solid moral core just like Palin is and that is the kind of person we need come 2012.
John C. commented:
it is absolutely essential to vote Obama out and vote a conservative Republican in — in 2012.

“I’m trying very hard to understand this woman’s appeal.”
There’s gonna be plenty of time for you to get over that problem, James, but don’t be sullying up this board with the link to that Hungarian leftist’s website.
Maybe if you didn’t fill your head with the tripe presented by the Hungarian leftist Huffington, you’d better understand our liking Sarah’s conservativeness, but I doubt it…….

Ed Schuster, If I were Sarah and saw that comment, I would get choked up. That was beautiful.
For Ed and anyone else who would like to follow Sarah on her “Wilderness Tour,” you couldn’t do better than the web site Conservatives4Palin.com. You’ll see everywhere she’s been, everywhere she’s going and everything that has been said by and about her.
Joe College commented:
The fact that the National Enquirer broke that Vera Baker cheating story may indicate that the buzzards are beginning to circle around Obama for the next presidential run. The Enquirer is said to be a Clinton rag:

Don’t forget, the Enquirer broke the Edwards affair story exactly when Obama was deciding whether to make Edwards or Hillary his running mate.
bitterclinger commented:
Does anyone know if JC Watts’s speech is posted anywhere?

On Palin, I just cannot see my way clear with her position on immigration.Otherwise I am behind her. I think if we get amnesty or Amnesty Guest Worker (no enforcement) it will be America’s Death Knell.

Hysterical, hate-filled reaction from the Obama Amen Corner in 5… 4… 3… 2…

That’s not Kool-Aid the Obama-left is drinking, it’s HaterAde.
Gregory of Yardale commented:
And I’m not the biggest fan of Sarah Palin. I admire the way she brought herself up from humble beginnings, I think she did a good job as Alaska governor until the lefty nuisance lawsuits drove her out of office, and I think she brings a lot of common sense to the political debate. I’m not convinced she’d be a great president. She would be a damn sight better than the Marxist Community Organizer in office now, and better than the decrepit RINO she ran with, for that matter. But a brain-damaged box turtle would be a better president than Chairman Zero.
But the hysterical hate that the progressive left expends on her seems like such a waste of effort. She’s not in office for Set’s sake! She’s a private citizen.
Some people just gotta hate, I guess. And in the end, the hate helps her. When the left is calling her “a dumb bitch” 20,000,000 times a day, it makes people support her out of sympathy. If the left really wanted to hurt Sarah Palin, they’d shut up about her.
But they can’t.
James commented:
I will say this: it’s heartening that right-wing voters would even consider a woman for the highest office in the land. This would have been unthinkable 50 years ago.
I guess we now see 1 Timothy 2:12* in a “new light”?
*I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man

You just posted up there you can’t for the life of you figure out what Palin’s saying and here you pompously intone an opinion based on a wheezy old stereotype borne out of political bigotry. If you operate from bigoted stereotypes all day long, not much is going to make sense.
Real people are far more nuanced.
Tawny Jones commented:
Gov. Sarah Palin enthralls & inspires the people wherever she goes. Has there ever been such a chic, charming, charismatic, consequential figure in U.S. political history? We need her strong leadership.

On topic but a little off.
I saw of Fox&Friends a video clip that Jay Leno presented at last night’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner. As his joke he showed contrasting videos demonstrating the different approaches the LSM and Fox gave on the issue of his leather jacket that he appeared to be modeling…
That second part representing the right that ended with the full screen face of Sarah smiling at him…
Leno may not have intended this but I just think that video would be a powerful political ad for Sarah. It is like he can’t escape her. She is in his head.
Anybody else see this? Can someone get this and show it here?
God bless No. 45.
This is the Bobber speakin
