Quick: When was the last time the democratic-media complex thought that Obama’s actions were too liberal?
Exactly… Never.

Barack Obama is the most anti-capitalist, anti-American, anti-business, anti-Israel president in history and yet the media would make you believe he represents mainstream America.

Andrew Breitbart sat down for an interview recently with Life Site News, via Free Republic.
Andrew Breitbart: “The Left Is, in Essence, The Media”

The bias of the liberal media is so deeply ingrained that it is an essential part of its structure – one that conservatives must fight hard to challenge effectively, according to conservative new media guru Andrew Brietbart.

“The left, to me, in essence, is the media,” said Breitbart an interview with CBN’s Matt Brody.

Big liberal names like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, he explained, “possess limited charms.” “Their ability to get what they need to get done is because they’re carrying the water of the media,” said Breitbart. “The media is a left-of-center ecosystem, it’s a left-of-center organism. So the media can change the dynamics of what we’re talking about.”

Known for attacking liberal media bias head-on, Breitbart is a political commentator who owns his own news web site, Breitbart.com, as well as the blogs Big Hollywood, Big Government and Big Journalism. He also serves as an editor for the Drudge Report.

“I aim everything at attacking the media for its biases and holding them accountable for their biases, and the things that they report incorrectly, or the things they fail to report,” he said.

“By aiming everything at the media I’ve pretty much done the one thing they ask you not to do. ‘Please accept the premise that we’re fair, and let’s move on.’ No. I’m not going to accept that premise.

“For these people to tell me with a straight face that they don’t come to the media and their jobs from a political perspective, from a left-of-center perspective, is just a bald-faced lie.”

When facing mistreatment by the media, Breitbart urged conservatives not to play by the rules as defined by the mainstream media. “These people don’t fight fair,” he said. “The left does not fight fair, and so I’m basically saying to conservatives, you don’t have to fight fair.”

“I want to break down this politically correct paradigm. These are rules that tell conservatives: you’re not allowed to say this, you’re not allowed to think that. This type of Orwellian thought crime crap is what I’m fighting against.

While not strongly religious himself, said Breitbart, the attack on Christians perpetrated by the mainstream media “angers me to no end.” “I consider myself to be a Judeo-Christian. … I relate to the world view that America has,” he said. “It’s a distinctly Judeo-Christian one and I think that it works.”

But Christians, he said, will only exacerbate the problem if they continue to react passively to media slander. “Christian turn-the-cheek tactics do not work agianst this crowd,” he said.

“Christian turn-the-cheek tactics do not work agianst this crowd,”

[Many who have committed their lives to working for change and justice in the world simply dismiss Jesus' teachings about nonviolence as impractical idealism. And with good reason. "Turn the other cheek" suggests the passive,. Christian doormat quality that has made so many Christians cowardly and complicit in the face of injustice. "Resist not evil" seems to break the back of all opposition to evil and counsel submission. "Going the second mile" has become a platitude meaning nothing more than "extend yourself." Rather than fostering structural change, such attitudes encourage collaboration with the oppressor.

Jesus never behaved in such ways. Whatever the source of the misunderstanding, it is neither Jesus nor his teaching, which,
when given a fair hearing in its original social context, is arguably
one of the most revolutionary political statements ever uttered.]

my understanding of “turn the other cheek” has always been
that there is a difference between REVENGE & DEFENSE..

    Is It Right to Fight?

[One other point, if everyone was a pacifist except the evil and lawbreakers of the world, then the world would be run by evil dictators or our society would be anarchy.

Pacifism in its fullest sense is untenable in the sinful world in which we live.

    [snip]

The subject “Is it right to fight?” is a difficult issue because it makes us face the awful issues of a suppressive dictatorship, evil aggression, killing and death on the one hand and the “necessary evil” of war to stop it. Could this be the reason that General Robert E. Lee at the Battle of Fredericksburg said, “It is well that war is so terrible—we should grow too fond of it.” The just war position, in the writer’s opinion, fits best with the Scriptural evidence.

Remember, it is possible to love your enemies and use force against him. The principle that love is embraced in laws of justice helps us see that loving one’s enemy is to make sure that justice prevails. In doing so, the Christian is also demonstrating “love for the ones his enemy has hurt.”]

  3. Christians need to remember what happened to the Jews in Germany when they were too passive. Our government is taking the rights away from Christians a little at a time. Now a Christian isn’t even supposed to express their beliefs in public. Just look what having no belief in God has done to our society……moral decline.

  4. It will only change when the media starts ti fear the people, we are not doing our jobs of holding the media accountable.. to enough bodies stacking up, the feel empowered to do whatever they want to.

OT.. (they too need to stop turning the
other cheek & take the Islamists down)

My Fellow Muslims, We Must Wake Up!

[When will the United States learn that our current behavior and lack of a coordinated existential strategy since 9-11 is obviously not working? As a devout and concerned American Muslim working tirelessly against radical Islam and its root cause of political Islam, I thought the Fort Hood massacre would teach us that. It did not. Witness the Pentagon report blind to ‘radical Islam’. I thought the Christmas bomber would tip us toward the battle of ideas, but nothing. And now on May 1, naturalized American citizen, Faisal Shahzad, is the next in the growing line of homegrown radical Islamists. And again the immediate fallout in the media, government, and academe is still one mostly of denial, dismissal, and fear of even mentioning the real theo-political battle we face against political Islam.

Whether Shahzad ends up being connected to a militant jihadist Pakistani Islamist network or not, he is obviously not a “lone wolf”. The ideas that drove him to act did not hatch de novo in his own mind. We cannot ignore the common ideology, the common malignant virus of the slippery slope of political Islam that takes over these growing number of Muslims.

The cases of homegrown Islamist terror mount week after week since 9-11 with a frightening uptick in just the past year. Yet, we are still ignoring the writing on the wall as we remain suffocated by political correctness and a willful blindness to political Islam and its common pathway of radicalization.

    [..]

Islamists like Shahzad want America out of their way so they can spread their supremacist ideology of political Islam. They indoctrinate some Muslims that their goal of an Islamic state and its shar’iah law is superior to our Constitutional republic. Meanwhile, other Muslims who do not believe in the Islamic state, are either ignored or silent.

    [..]

Whether we declare it or not, the United States is at war with the ideology of militant Islamism. Islamists are not afraid to call for the complete destruction of the principles that built our great country. The United States cannot afford to be timid in our response to their actions. We, Americans, especially American Muslims, must show Islamists that their ideology is beyond being simply ‘dangerous’, or ‘violent’. It is in fact treasonous and punishable as a capital crime against the state as an act of war. Our founding fathers knew how to articulate the values of liberty over theocracy. Where has that American penchant for the defense of religious freedom and liberty gone?]

  7. The predictable left-wing response is “The media can’t possibly be left-wing since they are owned by corporations.” It’s a thoroughly … excuse me … retarded analysis; judging by ownership and not by the product. It’s like saying since Kraft Foods is owned by a tobacco company, Velveeta cheese must be made of cigarettes.

It’s a weak, pathetic rebuttal… but it’s all they’ve got. All empirical evidence points to the media being left-wing.

  8. I agreed that Pelosi and Reid has limited talent and brain. The old media are just the extension of the DNC.

  9. In the 1990′s the Republicans tried to rein in spending by decreasing school budgets for lunch programs (at the federal level).

Democrats hold a press conference claiming “School children will go hungry and starve due to Republican budget cuts.”

Media runs to next Republican they see and shove microphone in their face screaming “Why do you want to starve school children???”

Now – don’t you think a fair media would have questioned the Democrats and said “Are you suggesting the Republicans want to starve school children? Do you really believe that?”

The media screams anytime an oil company is involved in an environmental study. Yet all the studies claiming the MSM is unbiased are performed by the MSM.

  10. I agree with Andrew. Look at parents and the things happening in schools they just lay down like dogs to total political correctness. I blame parents for the mess the schools are in. The parents inaction is the problem. Either that or the parents don’t believe the schools should be teaching reading, writing, math, American history and science first and foremost. The media is irrelevant and has been since Obama began campaigning. As a matter of fact this entire American socialization is the fault of uninvolved parents.

  11. My 7 year old came home yesterday and told us that the rainforests were being destroyed and we had to give money quick or all the animals would be extinct.
I patiently explained that his teacher was operating on a belief system and there were ways to research and develop whatever we thought our belief system and response should be.
My point is that there is alot to point to parent’s fault and the indoctrination is ridiculous but what is even more upsetting and I think part of Andrew’s point, is that it is really hard to find cold hard facts.

  12. Why didn’t you go to the school and complain? Why didn’t you talk with other parents and go to the school together and complain? See that’s what I am talking about.

  13. I’m an agnostic who understands, respects, and likes the fact that western civilization has a Judeo-Christian underpinning. I too am angered by the anti-Christian zealotry masquerading as a defense of the “separation of church and state.”

My fellow agnostics and our cousins the atheists are deluded if they think that morality and social standards can operate in a vacuum devoid of religion.

As to the “turning the other cheek” silliness, 1,700 hundred years of Christian dominance of the West has hardly been one of timidity and appeasement. Those traits came out when certain westerners began to abandon solid religious beliefs.

Breitbart is right that we shouldn’t play fair with leftists.

  14. As an Independent, I’ve personally grown a bit tired of complaining about the obvious left-wing bias of the national media. That’s because conservatives have every opportunity to get their messages out there, through such high volumed/viewed outlets as FoxNews, Drudge, Breitbart, talk radio, etc. And you guys do get your message out, through such outlets, to the people who decide elections (Independents). You don’t think FoxNews’ viewership is just a bunch of conservatives, do you? I’m a regular FoxNews viewer, a regular visitor to Drudge, and even like to take in a segment or two of Limbaugh and Savage when I’m in my car. (And, for the record, I also like to check out what the left-wingers are saying and doing every day). The national media’s bias ain’t going away anytime soon, but never let it be said that you conservatives aren’t getting your message out.

  15. He said to turn the other cheek, but he did not say to turn it twice. That’s my take on that.

God helped David kill Goliath. Obviously, He grew tired of Goliath’s ruthless bullying of His people and wanted him dead.

Daniel stood up to the government in his day, as did Shaddrach, Meshach, and Abednego. God protected them and blessed them.

Jesus called the politicians and freedom-suppressors (Pharisees’) of His day vipers. He stood up to them at every opportunity. He called them on their faults. Tax collectors were ruthless even in His day.

We are in a spiritual battle here. It’s bigger than losing freedoms and our livelihoods. It’s about losing our spirits and our faith. If you aren’t right with the Lord, get right. I have to do this. It’s hard, and it hurts, but it must be done. We cannot stand against the evil coming if we are not fully armored with God’s protection.

If you were asked tomorrow to take a mark and denounce your faith in Christ Jesus at the threat of losing your head, could you do it? How about your children? With an Islamic president this could happen tomorrow…

    God, we need You.

  16. The Independent Rage – #14

The importance of pointing this out repeatedly is to attempt to inform those who do not think the media is biased. As a constitutionally protected class – the Media has an obligation to be unbiased – yet they are not and help form public opinion. As you can see – the sources you cite are relatively new on the scene. See what 40 years of “unbiased” and unchallenged media has brought us.

A case in point is my oldest brother. He has been involved in 5 stories reported in the media. He admits that every one of them weren’t reported the way things happened – actually reported almost exactly the opposite – yet he does not believe the media is biased.

  17. I turn the other cheek, as I calmly seat a new magazine in the magazine well and reestablish proper sight picture.

  18. Have you seen how o’reilly contorts himself to protect obama? And fox has become very “nuanced” in its reporting. The Saudi and Soros bought a lot when they purchased o’reilly and fox.

You never hear anyone using terms like anti-Australian or anti-Swedish, as it is absurd to do so. And the same goes for anti-American. It’s an idea invented by conservatives when they have run out of ideas and can’t think of how to insult their opponents.

  23. “It’s an idea invented by conservatives when they have run out of ideas and can’t think of how to insult their opponents.”

I would like to know what Jim Hoft thinks anti-American means.

    ……………….
Benjamin Franklin and Thomas Jefferson ran into rampant Anti-Americanism in Europe in the 1780s and 1790s. The roots are in the European aristocracy which rightly perceived the existance of America as a direct threat to their hereditary power. As people up and left their kingdoms for a new start in America, the aristocracy began passing stories that America was a terrible land where people and animals got “stunted” and such scary concepts.

Add to that 50 years of Soviet Anti-American propaganda that painted America as a land of gangstas and evil laboratories that created diseases and raised the CIA to evil god-like powers, while totally not mentioning the busy busy busy undermining KGB mischief, Soviet infiltration, blackmail, subterfuge and outright undermining of governments.

As the self-serving elites cry about America the evil, the lower and middle classes tired of their “betters,” found it to be exactly what their family members and neighbors who left and sent back word, “A land of opportunity.”

  26. Turn the other cheek? reread exactly what Christ said. He was speaking to believers that were being persecuted for being Christians. He said ” If one smite your cheek BECAUSE OF ME” turn to him the other. No where did he say not to protect one’s self or his family. An eye for an eye.

  31. ANdrew Breitbart is right. Jim possed this question what, yesterday? “Which is worse, the left or the media which enables it?”

Think Breitbart is helping better define the nature of the enemy – and that’s the word for it, because we are headed for societal chaos if things continue down this dangerous path. THe media enables Pelosi, makign her better than she is, Barney Frank, Harry Reid, Ted Kennedy – even JFK ,the media hid copious information about him that the public should have known – his affairs left him, the POTUS, wide open to the worse kind of blackmail.
The American People STILL do NOT know who they have elected as president, in Obama, thanks to the media flipping on the FOG machine switch for him.
ANd Obama is so shallow in knowledge and strangely vacant at times, the media seems to give him his voice, not him, so what gives?

The scriptures do warn in the end times of a great deception. Centuries of pondering, what does that mean? Now, we have a situation in human history with a mass (global) media, that was meant to inform people, but instead has been used most consistently to DISinform them – instead of disseminating news, it has been most busy disseminating propaganda and lies.
    Very strange. Very sobering.
And Breitbart is right, do not let a single lie go past without challenging it. Enough!

  34. Thank you Mr. Breitbart. The Democrat Media Complex must be exposed. It must be defeated. At some point, maybe we can shame them into fairness (probably not). We shall overcome.

  35. JR #35 and someone before made a similar point that the media would change somehow.

    It will not.

We will have to fund and support alternative media until opportunities come for some of the enterprises to make major media acquisitions.

That, and we will have to delve more deeply into the educational system as they have done for the past 50 years.

Long, hard, and costly battles are what we must begin to acknowledge. The media is not going to change. It must BE changed.

  36. Andy Breitbart.. you’re the voice of free people.. you’re the right man, doing the right job, at precisely the right time in history. 38. Us Christians are about to discover that if we don’t stand up for our values, they’ll be taken away from us. It’s clearly time for us to become more vocal and active in our defense. Not in the immature, emotional way that Leftists endorse their world views, with outrageous claims and exaggerated rhetoric. Nor should we seek to denigrate those who don’t share our beliefs. Patient determination, without anger, should be our hallmark.
You don’t necessarily have to be a Christian to understand that there’s a lot of goodness in Judeo-Christian teachings. It almost seems as if we’re being called upon now to declare our intentions…

  39. Ah, that would be, “we Christians” backwardsboy And yes even atheist like myself find much good in the teachings of Christ. Good luck with that patience and determination without anger stuff.
