Mark Steyn: Reps Carson, Lewis, Cleaver and the Rest Have Turned Themselves Into the Congressional Equivalent of the Duke U Stripper

Mark Steyn compared the fake hate crime stunt by the Black Caucus members on Capitol Hill to the Duke University stripper episode today at the The Corner:
I disagree with John Lewis (Democrat, Georgia) politically but I have always respected him as a genuine civil rights warrior. And I feel slightly queasy at the thought that he would dishonor both the movement and his own part in it for the cheapest of partisan points – in the same way I would be disgusted by a Holocaust survivor painting a swastika on his own door and blaming it on his next-door neighbor over a boundary dispute.
But that’s what the Democratic Party has been reduced to – faking hate crimes as pathetically as any lonely, mentally ill college student. Congressmen Carson, Lewis, Cleaver and the rest have turned themselves into the Congressional equivalent of the Duke University stripper. Except that they’re not some penniless loser but a group of important, influential lifetime legislators enjoying all the privileges and perquisites of power, and in all probability acting at the behest of the Democrat leadership.
Isn’t that what societies with functioning media used to call “a story”?

Now, I’m just thinking outside the box. Since the dems finally have their “hate crime” bill, couldn’t the republicans revise it to cover absolutely every group or person when they retake both houses? Like Christians, the military, white men, hetrosexuals, grandma’s, conservatives,… everyone. Water the stupid bill down so everyone is protected under this boondogle bill.

Let us not forget that Sheila Jackson Lee (TX-18) was on Cavuto with her fire-breathing fake outrage. Bill O’Reilly openly invited Sheila to come on his show; she has not appeared and, as was announced on March 31 she is conveniently out of the country. She cannot be let off the hook …..we have to give her a “shout out”.
I will forever remember this incident, as I remember the Duke Lacrosse case…and Tawana Brawley.

When the African Anti-slavery groups went to the Congressional Black Caucus for support and solidarity, they thought it was a given.
Royal IGNORE. Total brush-off. They were shocked.
Think of it: actual former slaves trying to eradicate modern slavery of AFricans and the descendents of slaves, living well, with political power, didn’t have time for them. So, the modern, true anti-slavers Africans have had to count on … predominently white Christian churches for help, while swishy well-fed, well-housed, rich CBC members posture and intone about “oppression.”
Get the deceiving reliance on color out of this and start focussing on the political ideology.
Don’t suppose it’s too much to hope at least a couple of these crass political hacks will get a conscience and a clue as to how much they’ve exaggerated and how much the Democratic Party has USED them. If anyone one of them had a history of being sincere about human rights and truth, hope they are doing some real soul-searching as to how they’ve sold out their dignity for what is essentially just a bowl of soup.

The people cited by Mark Steyn are Reverse Racists. Yes, get the concept down. Reverse Racism is very hot among minorities now. It’s payback time. It’s a form of reparations. Something about the sins of the father being visited upon the children…….we whites today are going to have to pay over and over and over and over…..My family never owned slaves or used slavery of any kind. My family never killed or raped African American, Negroid or Black people, but today in 2010, I’m supposed to feel huge guilt and never call any AA people to task for anything negative. It really makes one wonder just exactly what the leftist dems did to make him change his mind about his support for a presidential candidate – is it the same thing that made him make such a claim as he did on 3/21 ?
The nuts running/controlling the dem party are vile thugs. They have turned what was once an honorable person that crossed the bridge in Selma into what he is now. They ruin everyone’s life and whether or not they agree but they MUST be perceived to be “on their side”.
I also think that it is more than a little coincidental that the dems/socialists (one in the same in most instances) countinue to put black democrats in front of the camera repeating remarks that relate the Tea Party to the KKK. They want to get the black community back on the streets fighting the “racists” that is anyone other than black. The blacks are just being used – yet again – by the progressives to get their agenda through. Wouldn’t rioting blacks in the streets constitute a “crisis”? A good crisis must never go to waste! What could be the result of that crisis? No elections, martial law????
