GOP Official & Boyfriend Savagely Beaten In Politically Motivated Attack – Including Broken Leg, Jaw, Concussion… Media Silent …UPDATES & Police Report

The governor’s office said Monday that Allee Bautsch suffered a broken leg and her boyfriend suffered a concussion and fractured nose and jaw in the alleged incident. (KSLA)
A Republican activist and her boyfriend were savagely beaten in New Orleans on Friday for wearing Sarah Palin pins.
Free Republic reported:
Allee Bautsch, chief campaign fundraiser for Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal, and her boyfriend Joe Brown, were savagely beaten Friday night in New Orleans after leaving a Republican party fundraising dinner by a group of thugs who reportedly targeted the couple because they were wearing Sarah Palin pins.
Bautch’s leg was broken and Brown incurred a broken jaw and nose as well as a concussion.
The Hayride reports that a source who visited Bautsch at the hospital the day after the attack says they were told the couple was attacked for wearing Palin buttons:
Two people at the Brennan’s event have now confirmed that the protest had largely broken up by the time it ended, but we also understand from someone who visited Allee Bautsch in the hospital Saturday morning that she and Brown were followed and attacked expressly because they had Palin pins on (she heard one of the attackers say “Let’s get them, they have Palin pins on” – so the attack WAS politically motivated as its victims understood it. It was not a mugging, it was not an argument gone wrong and it was not a bar fight.
The story of a Republican and her boyfriend being viciously attacked for wearing Palin buttons has yet to make national headlines, unlike say, unfounded rumors of nasty words being said by Tea Party protesters.
Related… Anarchists took to the streets in New Orleans on Friday to protest the SRLC, marching to the Hilton Hotel, where a banner was hanging from the roof which said “We won’t pay for their crisis. Become the crisis!” —- The march then headed to Brennan’s Restaurant, where a $10,000 a plate SRLC dinner was in progress.
Later today the Governor’s office sent out this email. The authorities are still investigating the violent attack–
Friday night, the Governor’s campaign fundraiser, Allee Bautsch, and her boyfriend were involved in an altercation in the French Quarter with a group of people.
While there were protestors around at that time, we are not aware of any evidence that the individuals involved in the altercation were protestors.
Allee’s leg was badly broken in the incident, she has had surgery, and she is facing a recovery time of two to three months. Her boyfriend had a concussion, and also a fractured nose and jaw. They are both expected to fully recover.
NOPD is investigating the incident and we are refraining from further comment to allow them to fully investigate and ensure justice is done. Our prayers are with Allee. She is a strong person and we are sure she will make a speedy recovery.

I am the photographer for the LA GOP and I was at the Brennan fundraiser. When I left about one hour or so after all 3 of the governors left the crowd of protesters had grown. The were very nasty, signs were vulgar using the “F” word. As I left the restaurant I was yelled at – there was a family visiting the restaurant with a baby stroller – they had nothing to do with the fundraiser and they were being heckled using the “F” and “MF” words.. A couple of them made comments to me.

UPDATE: The New Orleans Police released a statement tonight on the beatings. They are looking for two dirty white males; one with a ponytail.
Superintendent Warren J. Riley and members of the New Orleans Police are asking the public’s assistance in locating and identifying several suspects wanted in connection with an incident that occurred in the 600 block of Saint Louis Street . The incident occurred Friday April 9, 2010, at approximately 10:45 P.M.
According to investigators, the victims were walking from a function at a restaurant in the 400 block of Royal Street . When they entered the 600 block of Saint Louis Street , three to five Caucasian males made derogatory comments to the 25-year-old female and her 28-year-old male friend. When the male victim turned towards the group of men, one or more of the suspects struck the victim several times. At some point the female victim fell to the ground and screamed. The suspects then fled on foot. Officers in the area heard the female screaming and responded to the scene and broadcasted a description of the suspects and requested Emergency Medical Paramedics. As the female was waiting for EMS , she used her purse as a pillow. When the victim was in the ambulance, she discovered her purse was missing.
The female was transported to a hospital where she was treated for a broken leg. The male victim was also transported to the hospital and was treated for a mild concussion, fractured jaw and nose.
One of the suspects was described as a Caucasian male who appeared to be dirty, in his 20′s, 6’1″ tall, thin build with a thin face. He had a beard and auburn color hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a light color T shirt and dark color pants.
The incident is on-going and detectives are in the process of determining if any surveillance cameras captured the incident.
Investigators are currently working on the incident and at this time the report is not available. Notification will be made to the media when the report is complete and ready for dissemination.
Investigators are in the process of identifying the suspects, as well as a motive. Eighth District Detective Sergeant Nicholas Gernon is in charge of the investigation. Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP(7867). You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.

Absent video evidence, I am always skeptical regarding reports of alleged “hate crimes.” One of the tools of gay radicals and minority activists is to injure themselves, fabricate stories of attacks, or pretend they are threatened in order to garner sympathy and/or focus attention on the issue du jour. This is not to say that bias attacks don’t occur any more, but that enough phony attacks have happened to cast doubt on stories without witnesses or physical evidence.
This behavior is not exclusive to the left; remember that in 2008, the right at large almost became victimized by that lunatic woman who carved a backwards “B” on her face and alleged that she was mugged by a black man at an ATM and then disfigured for having a McCain/Palin bumper sticker on her car.

Remember that Ashley Todd — the perpetrator of that hoax — constantly updated her Facebook page that evening with her cell phone to track herself to the supposed scene of the crime, sending the message that she was lost, in a bad area, and yet STILL got out of her car and went to an outdoor ATM. Reeeal smart. Then, she said she was held down on the sidewalk by the knees of the phantom hulking black man, which would be a strange thing for a mugger to do — all they want is money. They don’t usually stick around to torture their victims in plain sight, especially when there is a security camera.
I honestly don’t think she was either mentally stable enough or clever enough to deliberately carve the “B” backwards. If conservatives attacked two leftists for every conservative that they attacked, eventually they’d stop, or face ongoing pain forever. Even a crazy leftist will make the rational choice and stop attacking conservatives.
It’s time to take action. Temporarily abandon your commitment to law and order and attack leftists in the same way they’re attacking us.
That’s the best way to return to civility, let them know that they’re not the only ones who will go outside the law to get what they want. Both sides then stand down and we can get back to making rational arguments to persuade voters.
But until we take action, leftists will continue to attack conservatives and we’ll continue to be pressured to hide our true beliefs.

I grew up in Pensacola, Fl. and went to NO all of my younger life. The place is as close to the old wild West as you will ever see in a modern city. There are more felons on the police force and holding public office than in NO jails. On the CCW permit issue, I have one but if you goto any event like this one where there is booze served and you partake, you cannot carry. This was at Brennan’s famous resturant and they do have some decent wine. Most of us conservatives have given up on bumper stickers ans shirts that will incite the lower IQ crowd, black or white, and in the future anyone attending a public conservative event should be aware of the element that will be watching. Try to move in small crowds. Have hired policemen standing by after the event to help people to their cars etc. The uncivil war has indeed begun and we must make sure that any escalation is by the other side. I am not suggesting turning the other cheek but pictures and recordings will be a lot more helpful than blood. Remember what the Unicorn said, “If they bring a knife we will bring a gun”.

I’ve seen the videos from the “anti-islamisation” congress in Cologne from two years ago and, while the videos showed no actual violence, they showed two things:
1) the total and complete surrender of the strong arm of the law (aka the police) to the left wing SA that ruled the streets in those days
2) lynch mob mentality against everyone who the mass of people deemed to be even just remotely “right wing”.
One incident shown in the vidoes shows a man ,about mid 30s, and his mother how they try to get through a huge crowd of leftists (most of them not even 20), not because they want to the congress, but simply because they live on the other side. The incident led to several “youths” getting into the man’s face (close to attacking him) and to thousands screaming “Nazis raus!” (out with the nazis), implying that the man and his mother were nazis. Police was present and what they did was not to protect the man and his mother, but rather banning the man and his mother from the premises (a public square in Cologne.) They were later interviewed and his mother was still shaken from this experience even days later.
There are people in Germany calling for the German army to be mobilised during such events.
May 1st is coming. Berlin always has massive riots on May 1st. This year people in Berlin are expecting a full scale surrender of the police to the rioters. Berlin has 2,000 cops, not nearly enough for the riots. Other cities won’t be able to send additional forces, because they’re expecting to have massive riots as well.
Anarchists, leftists and so called “anti-fascists” are the fascists in our streets.
Time we take our countries back from the fascists.

Paul, you don’t get it.
In the case of the false leftist claim of spitting and racial epithets, conservatives produced video showing that those claims were false. The reward that Breitbart offered for any video proving that the leftist claims were true went from $10,000 to $100,000, with no takers.
Don’t you see? The victims of that crime have made a statement about what they heard and experienced. They’re claiming leftists attacked them because they were wearing Palin pins.
It’s up to leftists to provide proof your assertion that the crime wasn’t politically motivated.
That’s what conservatives did in the case of the now disproved Obamacare racial and spitting claims. That’s the standard that conservatives have set. If we dispute what leftists say, we provide video proof.
If you’re disputing how the first person accounts by those injured victims, you have to provide the video proof. After all, that’s what conservatives did to show that leftists had lied.
Apparently the leftists outnumbered the conservatives and they attacked them. Surely one of them had a camera to prove that the conservatives attacked first?

With all due respect to several of the commentors on this blog, the hate level is significantly higher than needs to be. Yes the “thugs” that jumped this couple were absurd and yes, this might be politically motivated, but at this point we have no proof that the people that beat up this couple were part of the protestors.
A friend of mine was jumped by a group of three guys because they just wanted to beat someone up. They left his face bloodied and bruised and my friend was lucky to come out with no broken bones. (Thankfully, he wasn’t even in a rough part of town or I assume the beating would have been much worse.) The truth is, these thugs could have easily just been looking to beat up someone and found a stupid reason, “Look they’re two people, and they’re wearing Palin pins, why not?”
You may be right to assume that this was, in fact, politically motivated, but I have a hard time jumping from one person’s experience of verbal assault to a couple walking out of a very nice dinner (most probably fully dressed to the nines) just being randomly beaten to the point of a broken leg and jaw. It doesn’t fit. Street thugs fits the story much better and street thugs with some hate for anything not Obama fits almost perfectly. I don’t think they were part of the original protest group.

Even received a few friendly comments wondering what I was doing in NO.
The number of protesters outside the SLRC was not 200. Started with 5 and later grew in number far less than 200. They had Free this and Free that on their signs. I asked them if they were Free Sex since it was not on any of their signs and they said yea and Free Weed too. A lot of people were there for the music and fun verses the actual March. Even the videogrophers had to work hard to make the crowd look bigger than it was.

I am the photographer for the LA GOP and I was at the Brennan fundraiser. When I left about one hour or so after all 3 of the governors left the crowd of protesters had grown. The were very nasty, signs were vulgar using the “F” word. As I left the restaurant I was yelled at – there was a family visiting the restaurant with a baby stroller – they had nothing to do with the fundraiser and they were being heckled using the “F” and “MF” words.. A couple of them made comments to me.

We only know two facts about this incident.
1) Gov. Jindal’s spokesman reports Alle Bautsch and Joe Brown were not wearing Palin pins.
2) The attack on Alle Bautsch and Joe Brown was a group assault and the damage done to the victims is _inconsistent_with_a_mugging_.
Brown had a concussion, fractured nose and jaw while Bautsch had a broken leg that required surgery (AKA it was a compound fracture).
Such assaults usually see the males hurt worse than the females.

The AP whitewashed this group, but others have said that the group was pretty vulgar and angry and mobbish… others who aren’t “Ordained Journalists” and therefore should have as much if not more credibility than the AP, as I see it, and will continue to see it until the AP regains any credibility on these matters.

I can’t see getting upset whether you lean left or right until we really find out what prompted the attack (if anything, it could have been prompted by jealousy of the fact that this couple is well to do for that matter).

New Orleans police are asking for assistance finding suspects who participated in a French Quarter fight on Friday that led to the injury of a campaign aide to Gov. Bobby Jindal, as well as her boyfriend.
The news release issued by New Orleans police Tuesday evening does not identify Allee Baustch or her boyfriend, but notes that the 25-year-old female victim and the 28-year-old male victim were attacked in the 600 block of St. Louis Street after leaving an event at a restaurant in the 400 block of Royal Street.
Jindal’s office acknowledged on Monday that Bautsch, his chief campaign fundraiser, was recovering from a broken leg after an altercation with a group of people in the Quarter on Friday night. Bautsch was attacked after a fundraiser for the Louisiana Republican Party at Brennan’s Restaurant, 417 Royal Street, the governor’s office said.
The 600 block of St. Louis Street, where the Napoleon House Bar is located, is a couple of blocks from Brennan’s.
New Orleans police say that the incident began about 11:45 p.m. when a group of three to five men made “derogatory comments” to Bautsch and her boyfriend. When the man described as the male victim “turned toward” the group of men, at least one of the men struck him repeatedly. The woman “fell to the ground and screamed,” the news release said.
Police released a description of one suspect, saying he was in his 20s, looked “dirty,” and wore his hair in an auburn-colored ponytail. The man was 6 feet, 1 inch tall with a thin build, police said. He wore a light-colored T-shirt and dark pants.
Officers in the area responded and requested EMS assistance. The woman used her purse as a pillow while waiting for help. Once she was in the ambulance, the woman realized her purse was missing, the release said.
Kyle Plotkin, a Jindal spokesman, said Bautsch had surgery during the weekend and is facing a recovery time of two to three months. According to the NOPD news release, Bautsch’s friend was treated at the hospital for a mild concussion, broken jaw and broken nose.
“NOPD is investigating the incident and we are refraining from further comment to allow them to fully investigate and ensure justice is done,” Plotkin said Monday. “Our prayers are with Allee. She is a strong person and we are sure she will make a speedy recovery.”
Police have not yet determined whether any surveillance cameras recorded the incident. While The Times-Picayune has requested a copy of the initial NOPD incident report, the news release stated that the report is not yet available.

The NOLA report in #234 makes this attack a targeted beating.
The pattern of “Thrill seeking” beating sees the male victim getting his head bashed while pushing the female aside.
That didn’t happen here. Allee Bautsch suffered a compound leg fracture requiring surgery.
That means who ever did this took out Brown and then either used a blunt instrument or stood over and stomped/kicked Ms. Bautsch with heavy boots until her leg bones were broken in multiple places and were ripping her flesh.
Given the state of NO law enforcement, Republican Governors attending needs to ask their money bags to post a six or seven figure reward leading to the arrest and prosecution of the thugs responsible.

What you are advocating is a raising of the lowest standard from which that can be done. A decent intent, but not authorized for the federal government by the Constitution.

I know someone who worked in the building next to where the meeting was being held. That person along with others for their office left out an opposing door to the Convention Center. Some of these idiot Anarchists, lefties saw them and started chasing them down the street to attack them. The police intervened so nothing happened.
For the rest of the time, this person was met by the police several blocks from the office and escorted to work because that person was in management and had to be at work. Non-essential personnel had the week off. This person was told to leave the work clothes at home and look for the worse pair of jeans that could be found to wear to work.
Anarchists, lefties are dangerous people. They are not necessarily Democrats . . . but when you have a President who tells his followers “If they bring a knife, you bring a gun”, violence is going to happen.
B.O. and the rest of his minions are reaping what they sowed. What we need is a true statesman to step in and bring some rationality to our country. Right now, the lunatics are running the asylum. I have never been more frightened, and I don’t like it.
I won’t be carrying a gun. I have had my life threatened, I have walked through strike lines and dealt with the WTO riots. Looked all of them straight in the eyes, did not open my mouth and just kept moving.
Remember, lefties want you to react. Keep as calm as possible when faced with these anarchists. Do the most damage you can do to them . . . in the ballot box. Vote them out of office. Then their followers will crawl back under their rock.

Robert, the “things the Democrats are doing” don’t have to be enumerated in the Constitution; most of the laws in this land aren’t. The acid test is whether a law violates the constitution.
Not all traditions are good. Traditionally, women were no more than the property of their fathers or husbands and were denied many of the rights guaranteed to men simply on the basis of their gender; this country had a long tradition of slavery before it was abolished.
Our founders knew that their final document was not perfect and were smart enough to allow the ability for future generations to add to it. Thank God for that or there’d be no Bill of Rights, no Second Amendment that keeps coming up in these comments. Stating that something shouldn’t be there now if it wasn’t there from the beginning isn’t an argument that holds any weight.
I’d personally prefer that the law of the land doesn’t continue to help the richest get richer at the expense of a shrinking middle class and an expanding lower class. None of these “things the democrats are doing” are going to raise my taxes or yours (unless you make obscene amounts of money.) I prefer that the taxes I do pay go to help working US citizens get a fair shake – to have a chance to live a healthy life, to get the education they need so that the US can compete in a global economy – than to have it fund some of things we’ve paid for in the last decade. If you don’t agree – that’s fine. There *is* more than one way to be a patriot; I don’t question your patriotism – you seem very passionate about our country – I don’t deserve to have mine questioned because my views are different.
Regarding the original article: this doesn’t seem to be shaking out as a legitimate story — that this attack was politically motivated — (and I believe that Fox News would be all over it if there were a scintilla of truth to it). I hope that the men responsible for this are brought to justice, and if this attack WAS politically motivated I sincerely hope they are charged in Federal court and pay the severest penalty possible for civil rights violations as well.

I guess you haven’t been reading about the 8-K filings corporations are making regarding the multi-million dollar tax write-offs they are taking now due to the passing of ObieCare. Those tax losses will not be eaten by corporations, but will be passed on to you and me. That is a tax increase, whether directly taken from you or not.
Corporations are not cash cows, unless you think all corporations should go out of business and the only employers be the various levels of government. And just what does government produce? Paperwork, headaches and ulcers. But now with ObieCare, I guess that’s all to the good as well since government is giving us the illness and the ‘cure’.

Yes, I have been reading about it. Have you? Which is it – a tax write-off or a tax loss? It’s actually a charge-off, and it’s based on their loss of a gov’t subsidy of the health insurance packages they offer to their employees (gasp! Noooo! what are they, layabouts who can’t make their own way in the world and want a hand-out?!) If those companies want to pass on these ‘losses’ to the consumer, they can certainly do that; and in a free market, the consumer can choose a vendor who doesn’t. That is, unless Obama passes that martial law you mentioned earlier and forces us to buy Goodrich Tires (who filed an 8-k) instead of Goodyear (who didn’t.)
It’s interesting to note that General Electric didn’t file an 8-k because they’d already shifted the benefits affected by HCR to a plan that allowed them to continue offering prescription benefits to their retirees without taking the federal subsidy. Good for them for not living off the government teat.

In the 90′s during the first Gulf War I went to a protest and was attacked by a sign grabbed by a veteran counter protester meant to attack the vet next to me protesting the war. I never even got the chance to file charges of assault for the cut dangerously close to my eye, I never saw this as “the start of the revolution,” and I sure as hell didn’t go out and buy a gun to defend myself against violence-prone pro-war idiots.
