“Would socialized medicine lead to socialization of other phases of life? Lenin thought so. He declared socialized medicine is the keystone to the arch of the socialist state.”
1945 AMA Pamphlet Warning
The Communist Workers Party published an article recently in defense of state-run medicine like the proposal that democrats are wanting to ram through in the next 10 days.

(Quipster)
From the Socialists Workers Party–
When the administration of John F. Kennedy discussed a plan for government health care that would cover people of Social Security age, the American Medical Association (AMA) fought back, along with the insurance and pharmaceutical industries, with a well-funded campaign–complete with a commercial featuring actor Ronald Reagan, who was determined to talk to America about an “imminent threat”:
Now, back in 1927, an American socialist, Norman Thomas, six times candidate for president on the Socialist Party ticket, said the American people would never vote for socialism. But he said under the name of liberalism, the American people would adopt every fragment of the socialist program…
One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project…Now, the American people, if you put it to them about socialized medicine and gave them a chance to choose, would unhesitatingly vote against it.
…Of course, the danger of creeping socialism is a much less compelling argument today among ordinary people than it was during the Cold War. If anything, socialism is becoming a preferred alternative to the mess that capitalism has made of working-class living standards…
…According to the Physicians for a National Health Program’s (PNHP) Karen Palmer, the AMA assessed its members an extra $25 each to resist national health insurance, and in 1945, it spent $1.5 million on lobbying efforts, which at the time was the most expensive lobbying effort in American history. An AMA pamphlet warned, “Would socialized medicine lead to socialization of other phases of life? Lenin thought so. He declared socialized medicine is the keystone to the arch of the socialist state.”
We are only 10 days away (or less!) from the final vote on ObamaCare. If the House votes yes on the Senate bill that is now before it, THE GAME IS OVER. Since the Senate already passed it, once the House passes it on March 18, Obama’s signature on it (which will be immediate) MAKES IT LAW.
We are about to become a Socialist country. For if this passes, it will be virtually unrepealable. Health entitlement programs, once enacted, have proven to be permanent.
Think about it. Ten days from now: Permanent taxpayer funding of abortion. Permanent death panels (yes, those are in the bill), with no appeal of their decisions. Permanent forcing of pro-life doctors to refer for abortions, under penalty of loss of their license to practice. Within five years, no more freedom to buy private policies of your choice (only policies approved by the federal government). Small insurance companies, such as the one that took such incredibly good care of my husband during his illness, will very quickly be permanently out of business.
The Democrats KNOW that nationalizing health care is the single most effective step in making the USA a socialist country. Lenin said it first:
WE MUST DO WHATEVER IT TAKES IN THE NEXT TEN DAYS TO STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING!
Now is the time to act.

Amends the Illinois Anatomical Gift Act. Provides that, on and after July 1, 2012, each resident of Illinois who is of sound mind and who has attained the age of 18 years is presumed, by operation of law, to have given all of his or her body for any organ donation purposes. Allows an individual to opt out of the presumed donation by executing an anatomical gift as otherwise provided in the Act or by filing with the Secretary of State an organ donor opt out document….the Secretary of State and his or her employees are immune from any civil or criminal liability in connection with the Organ Donor Opt Out Registry.

Best way not to have to repeal anything? Kill this Bill, make then start over! Folks this is the time to be heard. Do not get caught up in March Madness until we kill this bill!
Did I say it before? Kill the Bill!

Secondly, Capitol Fax Blog from SPFLD, IL, reports on IL State politics. Miler’s reporting that Axelrod is going to leave the WH to work on Quinn’s campaign for Gov.
Also for Illinoisans, support Bill Brady, pro-life socially conservative Roman Catholic GOP Gov nominee–not from Chicago! His big issues will be budget and corruption issues.

By telling everyone that we’re doomed if this passes, what you’re doing is setting everyone up to be apathetic in the next election. If you convince people that once this bill passes there will be no recourse, then why will our side bother voting ever again?
All we can do is tell Congress of our opposition. If Congress chooses to go ahead with this, there is nothing we can do to stop it. This will probably pass. This insistence that we stop it is pointless, since we have no way of stopping it.
The insistence that it can’t be repealed is a massively self-destructive approach. All it will do will be to suppress conservative turnout in the next election.
Seriously, explain to everyone: If the health-care reform can’t be repealed and we become a socialist state, why should conservatives bother voting ever again? There would be no point, since the war would be permanently lost, right?

You fail to realize there is always a way to repeal a law. You just do not want to think in those terms. Use their terminology against them. What is it they like to say about Mao and power coming from what? How ’bout we show ‘em? Discourse with these people is dead. They want to Rahm it down our throat? OK. Watch what we do to their throats.

Absolutely right on. We are now at the juncture where the opportunity has arisen to defeat the insanity of Leftism once and for all. For over two centuries those who have the most investment in the survival of the culture have been playing defense against these monsters and allowing them to set the terms of the discussion.
Politics and culture are not an event; they are a process. Not only can the corruption of this administration be undone and ultimately defeated, our only hope is to continue the battle until every Socialist/Progressive/”Liberal” of every stripe is ridiculed and reviled in the public square every time he leaves the house.
The greatest enemy is the apathy of the electorate. Believing that electing a Republican for whatever office instead of recognizing the true enemy is nothing but cultural suicide, and is ultimately the act of a coward.
Wake up, America!

Have they actually scheduled a vote for the 18th or is that just the day that Gibbs threw out there?
If it’s the former then they think they have the votes. If it’s the latter then they are just doing the same thing they’ve done since july (it was supposed to be done before August recess, the end of september, the elections, and the SOTU).

sorry, but that’s more doomy & gloomy than stopping the liberty killer
bill in the first place, never mind daring to express the truth about it’s passage:

is that not true??
i mean, all the damaging to our liberty entitlement
policies FDR enacted have been reversed, right??
or should we ignore the reality in much the same manner Obama ignores the GWOT, and either suck it up, or iie.. hmmm, what to do; what to do..
oh yes, yes, yes, if the bill passes, it’ll be “sunshine, lollipops, rainbows

Absolutely correct. There is *no* bill, law, program, etc., that cannot be repealed.
And, a Republican president can always just refuse funding of the program and/or the startup of the planned agencies, bureaus, etc. (118 at last count), that are to be set up to “administer this garbage.
{how ya been, dude?}

I agree with the folks that say don’t give up, even if they pass this immoral, illicit and insane bill. We can’t give up the country to these bastards. We just can’t. The vote hasn’t happened, we need to pressure them. If it doesn’t work, then we work hard to throw every single one of them and every single squishy RINO out of office, at EVERY level of government, from the most local to the very top.
Start with that in mind, not the defeatist attitude, though I know Jim is anything BUT a defeatist or give-upper. If anything, Jim has given many of us hope and strength.

Ronald Reagan in 1961 gave a speech about socialized medicine and how to defeat it. I think it is as relevant today as ever. Ronald Reagan is 50 years later spot on.
As if we’re not already overextended enough financially, the issue of National Health Care is now on the table once more vote. Here’s some perspective you might find interesting.
Now back in 1927 an American socialist, Norman Thomas, six times candidate for president on the Socialist Party ticket, said the American people would never vote for socialism. But he said under the name of liberalism the American people will adopt every fragment of the socialist program.
One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project. Most people are a little reluctant to oppose anything that suggests medical care for people who possibly can’t afford it.
Now, the American people, if you put it to them about socialized medicine and gave them a chance to choose, would unhesitatingly vote against it. We had an example of this. Under the Truman administration it was proposed that we have a compulsory health insurance program for all people in the United States, and, of course, the American people unhesitatingly rejected this.
Let’s take a look at social security itself. Again, very few of us disagree with the original premise that there should be some form of savings that would keep destitution from following unemployment by reason of death, disability or old age. And to this end, social security was adopted, but it was never intended to supplant private savings, private insurance, pension programs of unions and industries.
Now in our country under our free enterprise system we have seen medicine reach the greatest heights that it has in any country in the world. Today, the relationship between patient and doctor in this country is something to be envied any place. The privacy, the care that is given to a person, the right to chose a doctor, the right to go from one doctor to the other.
But let’s also look from the other side, at the freedom the doctor loses. A doctor would be reluctant to say this. Well, like you, I am only a patient, so I can say it in his behalf. The doctor begins to lose freedoms; it’s like telling a lie, and one leads to another. First you decide that the doctor can have so many patients. They are equally divided among the various doctors by the government. But then the doctors aren’t equally divided geographically, so a doctor decides he wants to practice in one town and the government has to say to him you can’t live in that town, they already have enough doctors. You have to go someplace else. And from here it is only a short step to dictating where he will go.
This is a freedom that I wonder whether any of us have the right to take from any human being. All of us can see what happens once you establish the precedent that the government can determine a man’s working place and his working methods, determine his employment. From here it is a short step to all the rest of socialism, to determining his pay and pretty soon your children won’t decide when they’re in school where they will go or what they will do for a living. They will wait for the government to tell them where they will go to work and what they will do
What can we do about this? Well, you and I can do a great deal. We can write to our congressmen and our senators. We can say right now that we want no further encroachment on these individual liberties and freedoms. And at the moment, the key issue is, we do not want socialized medicine.
Former Representative Halleck of Indiana has said, “When the American people want something from Congress, regardless of its political complexion, if they make their wants known, Congress does what the people want.”
So write, and if your representative writes back to you and tells you that he or she too is for free enterprise, that we have these great services and so forth, that must be performed by government, don’t let them get away with it. Show that you have not been convinced. Write a letter right back and tell them that you believe in government economy and fiscal responsibility; that you know governments don’t tax to get the money the need; governments will always find a need for the money they get and that you demand the continuation of our free enterprise system. You and I can do this. The only way we can do it is by writing to our congressmen even we believe that he is on our side to begin with. Write to strengthen his hand. Give him the ability to stand before his colleagues in Congress and say “I have heard from my constituents and this is what they want.”
Write those letters now; call your friends and them to write them. If you don’t, this program I promise you will pass just as surely as the sun will come up tomorrow and behind it will come other federal programs that will invade every area of freedom as we have known it in this country. Until, one day, as Normal Thomas said we will awake to find that we have socialism. And if you don’t do this and if I don’t do it, one of these days we are going to spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children, what it once was like in America when men were free.
Ronald Reagan was a truly great American. America misses this great man. I hope another Reagan comes along and soon. America needs a hero in this darkest hour. I don’t think Obama is the man.
