WATCH: Trump Responds to Accusations of Buying the Election and “MAGA Socialism” After Historic $5,000 Dividend Proposal

President Trump this week defended his plan to give $5,000 to every American adult if Republicans win the midterm elections, assuring Fox’s Laura Ingraham that the country can afford it despite the approximately $40.10 trillion US national debt.  The $40 trillion debt will be taken care of over time, he said, “through growth.” As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump announced that he will give a $5,000 dividend to every adult man and woman in the country if Republicans retain the House and Senate majorities this election cycle during his Wednesday speech at the Republican National Committee midterm convention in Dallas, Texas.

DEVELOPING: Rand Paul Denies Claims That Thune is Putting SAVE America Act in Reconciliation Package as Senate Remains Divided on Voter ID

As the Senate prepares to break for August recess and rushes to pass a government funding bill by the end of today, the biggest question remains whether the Senate will finally pass the SAVE America Act before the midterm elections.  Trump again called on Republicans to pass the SAVE America Act in a Thursday interview with Punchbowl News, demanding that they terminate the filibuster and pass the voter ID legislation “immediately,” along with “about 400 other things in every hour of every day.” There was a glimpse of hope for the SAVE Act earlier, when Senator John Kennedy appeared on Fox News to claim that Senate Leader John Thune is going to bring the SAVE Act to the floor today in the budget reconciliation bill, which only requires 50 votes to pass.

President Trump trolled New York’s Socialist Mayor, Zohran Mamdani, on Monday for supporting ID requirements for everything but voting and called on the US Senate to cancel or postpone its August recess until the SAVE America Act is passed.  During a July 27 press conference on his new state-run grocery stores with locked-in 30% discounts to destroy local businesses, Mamdani revealed plans to require identification for grocery shoppers.
