Watch Pete Buttigieg Fantasize About Finding Newer Ways to Tax People (VIDEO)

Screencap of Twitter/X video.

Former transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg recently spoke to podcaster named Steve Bartlett and spent part of the time talking about new ways to tax people after lamenting that people keep finding ways to hide their wealth from the government.

This really is a window into the mind of a politician. This is the way they think. They fantasize about what they could do with your money.

The government already takes in trillions of dollars and a huge portion of it is stolen through fraud. Instead of trying to figure out how to spend that money more responsibly, they just think about ways to get more of it.

Quotes via Kanekoa the Great:

“If we had a more reasonable rate of taxation on capital gains and corporate income, and made it harder to pass along inherited wealth…”

“We’d be out of this doom loop we’re in saying… We can’t possibly do something like fast trains here in the . Of course we can. This is the wealthiest economy in the world.”

“If we aren’t collecting a fair level of taxes, then of course we’re going to come up short when we’re trying to fund those things.”

The part of this discussion that everyone in the media seems to care about is that Buttigieg is open to running for president.

From The Hill:

Former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said he is leaning toward running for president again in 2028.

“I think I’m more inclined than not, but there’s so much we don’t know,” Buttigieg told Steven Bartlett on an episode of “The Diary of a CEO” published Monday.

“There’s so much I don’t even know about what’s going to happen this year, let alone … what we need to know later,” he noted.

Buttigieg referenced the personal considerations that go into deciding whether to run for office — he and his husband, Chasten Buttigieg, adopted twins in 2021. The former mayor of South Bend, Ind., told Bartlett he did not “fully understand” the “weight” of such a decision until he was a father.

Buttigieg does not poll particularly well with minority voters. If he runs, he is going to have to face that reality.
