RINO Senator Thom Tillis (NC) on Sunday joined CNN’s Jake Tapper to trash Trump and announce plans to stonewall the President, only because he doesn’t have to worry about reelection.
Tillis announced last June that he would not run for a third term.
Asked by Jake Tapper if he considers himself part of a “YOLO Caucus,” consisting of “Republicans on their way out the door that President Trump has helped pressure and instigate,” Tillis took the mask off.
“I try to tell everybody, folks, if you’re not running for reelection, then that one filter that you need to make sure your words are measured,” he said, claiming that he’s not worried about “Democrats” using his words against him as he panders to the left.
He said it’s “great” not having a filter. “And I’m being unambiguous on Paxton. He is a failure. He doesn’t deserve to be in the US Senate,” he continued, in an unsolicited attack on Trump’s endorsement in the Texas Senate race.
Senate Republicans are currently revolting against Trump, in part because he endorsed Ken Paxton to replace the highly unpopular Incumbent RINO, John Cornyn, in the Texas Senate runoff election on Tuesday.
John Cornyn, Tillis said, “is one of the most powerful, one of the most influential, one of those patriotic members I’ve had the privilege to serve with over the last 11 years.”
Jake Tapper gleefully signed off on the interview, saying, “Senator Tom Tillis, YOLO a bolo,” a nod to his ridiculously large bolo tie.
Tapper: Is there going to be something of a You Only Live Once, YOLO Caucus, of Republicans on their way out the door that President Trump has helped pressure and instigate?
Tillis: It’s, you know, what I try to tell everybody, folks, if you’re not running for re-election, then that one filter that you need to make sure your words are measured, so that the Democrats can’t use it against you, and maybe some Republicans, you’ve just got to have that extra filter.
And I’m telling you, it’s great not having it, so that you can, you can get the same point across, but now you can use unambiguous words, and I’m being unambiguous on Paxton. He is a failure. He doesn’t deserve to be in the US Senate, and John Cornyn is one of the most powerful, one of the most influential, one of those patriotic members I’ve had the privilege to serve with over the last 11 years.
Earlier in the interview, Tillis suggested that he’s going to be “working with” losers like Bill Cassidy (R-LA), Cornyn, and Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to buck Trump until they’re out of office. He further attacked Paxton, saying, “To call Paxton ethically challenged is to call Jeffrey Dahmer suffering from an eating disorder. This guy is an empty suit, and will do us no service by being in the US Congress.”
“I hope that Texans realize how tough John Cornyn is, how pro-Second Amendment he is, how pro limited government he is, how pro America First he is,” he continued. “And when they go to the polls on Tuesday, I hope that they know that they’ve got a great American who deserves re-election, and the other guy is going to be nothing but an anchor on our conference for as long as he’s in the US Senate.”

This proves Trump’s recent comments about Tillis right.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Trump blasted Tillis and “his RINO friends” last week for “screwing the Republican Party,” noting that Tillis is fighting Trump and not seeking reelection because he lost the endorsement. Even Tillis admits that he doesn’t need to have the “filter” of a candidate.
“People don’t remember that Thom Tillis, the weak and ineffective Senator from the Great State of North Carolina, a State I won, including primaries, 6 consecutive times, didn’t have the courage to fight it out in the Senate, remain in place, and run again for office, a thing he desperately wanted to do,” Trump said.
“When I told him that I would not, under any circumstances, endorse him for another run, too much work and drama (he couldn’t have won, anyway!), he immediately quit the race and publicly announced that he was going to ‘retire,'” he continued, slamming Tillis as a “QUITTER.”
