Staffers for Seattle’s communist mayor, Katie Wilson, panicked when an intrepid reporter asked her a simple, important question about one of her policy stances.

As The Daily Mail reported, KOMO News Senior Reporter Chris Daniels interviewed Wilson on Friday about a harrowing incident that occurred earlier this week in the Emerald City.

FOX 13 previously reported that gunfire hit a building close to where Wilson was giving a press conference Tuesday afternoon in the Yesler Terrace neighborhood, which has been experiencing rising crime.

Wilson was promptly evacuated from the area by security. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

Like a good reporter, Daniels asked Wilson about whether this incident changed her previous stance against surveillance cameras.

“People in that community are concerned that there has been rising gun violence and that there should be more surveillance cameras,” he said.

“That is an issue you have weighed in on. Does that change your perspective at all?”

But right when Wilson was about to answer, one of her handlers jumped in and abruptly yanked her from the interview.

“Mayor Wilson, let’s not do that,” he said.

Then he turned to Daniels and said, “I appreciate it, but let’s keep it on topic.”

Daniels threw up his hands in disbelief while noting Wilson was about to answer his question.

Before nearly getting caught in the crossfire this week, Wilson not only attacked the idea of more surveillance cameras to catch criminals but also ripped the Trump Administration for criticizing “immigrants, trans people, and big cities.”

“Turning on more cameras won’t magically make our neighborhoods safer,” she whined on Instagram back in September. “But it will certainly make our neighbors more vulnerable.’

“As the Trump administration escalates its attacks on immigrants, trans people, and big cities in general, we need to prioritize safety, not surveillance,” she added.
