OUTRAGEOUS! Weak-Kneed RINO John Thune Mocks American Voters — Labels Fight to Push SAVE America Act is Nothing But a Propaganda by ‘Paid Influencers’

Man in a jacket stands outdoors in snowy weather, displaying a serious expression against a blurred forest background.

Senate Republican Leader John Thune (R-SD) has once again proven why he’s the poster child for the spineless RINO establishment.

In a stunning display of arrogance and detachment from the American people, Senate Majority Leader John Thune dismissed the growing grassroots movement demanding passage of the SAVE America Act, suggesting the pressure campaign is nothing more than a manufactured effort by a so-called “paid influencer ecosystem.”

During a conversation with NBC News, Thune downplayed the mounting calls from conservatives, activists, and voters urging the Senate to pass the SAVE America Act.

When asked about the increasing pressure to move the bill forward, Thune suggested much of the noise is coming from a coordinated online campaign.

NBC News reporter Brennan Leach caught the mask-slip on X, reporting:

“I asked Thune if he feels pressure to pass SAVE America Act mounting:

‘A lot of that is, it’s in that kind of, you know, paid influencer ecosystem,’ he said.

Adds there’s support among GOP Sens, but ‘the process & how do you ultimately try & get a result is still unclear to me.’”

Unbelievable! Thune is essentially calling millions of concerned citizens, fed up with rigged elections and non-citizen voting, paid shills. This is an insult to every hardworking American who demands secure borders and fair votes.

Thune’s “paid influencer” theory falls apart the moment you look at the actual data.

Recent polling proves that the American people, regardless of party, are sick and tired of the establishment’s refusal to secure our elections.

According to the White House:

Fresh polling underscores the SAVE America Act’s popularity with Americans:

  • 71% support the SAVE America Act — including 69% of independents and half of rank-and-file Democrats.
    • 81% favor requiring voter ID — backed by 79% of independents and 70% of Democrats.
    • 80% want states to purge non-citizens from voter rolls.
    • 75% support proof of citizenship to vote.
    • 61% support sharing unredacted voting rolls with the Department of Homeland Security.
  • 60% call the SAVE America Act a “commonsense way to stop fraud and protect the security of our elections.”
  • 58% recognize at least some voter fraud exists in the U.S.
  • 85% agree only U.S. citizens should vote in our elections — including 84% of independents and 82% of Democrats.

These numbers align with other polling that shatters Democrats’ tired narrative:

  • Pew Research Center: 83% of Americans — including wide majorities of Democrats, independents, Whites, Blacks, and Latinos — favor voter ID requirements.
  • Gallup: 84% support voter ID, with 98% of Republicans, 84% of independents, and 67% of Democrats on board — while an equally robust 83% back proof of citizenship for voter registration.
  • Rasmussen Reports: 75% support voter ID, with support increasing over the past decade.
  • Heritage Action: Strong majorities across five battleground states support the SAVE America Act.
  • Additional surveys, including from Napolitan News Service and The Center Square, consistently reveal extraordinary bipartisan support for voter ID.

The support for basic election security is not just a “Republican issue”; it is an American mandate.

Election integrity advocate Scott Pressler fired back on X after Thune’s comments, rejecting the claim that the movement pushing for the SAVE America Act is somehow manufactured.

Pressler wrote:

“Paid influencer system? I don’t receive a dime to do this work. It was after this interview with Fox News that President Trump put out a statement in support of my work & for the SAVE America Act.

Telling millions of Americans that they are a ‘paid influencer ecosystem’ —”

RINO Thune needs to go!

According to a new update from Punchbowl News, Thune clarified that his earlier remarks were not meant to dismiss the intense grassroots support the election integrity bill has generated across the country.

According to Thune, the passion surrounding the SAVE America Act is real and widespread, and he acknowledged that voters are highly engaged on the issue.

However, the Senate leader also doubled down on his concerns about social media narratives surrounding the legislation.

“Thune tells me his “paid influencers” comment re: the SAVE America Act, which sparked major pushback from the MAGA base, wasn’t intended to dismiss the “passion across the country on this issue at the grassroots level.” But he doubled down on his view that there are forces on social media aiming to “distort…the message you’re getting from that.” “So you just have to be discerning, that’s all I’m saying,” Thune added.”
