A failure by the Kansas City judicial system has allowed a wicked individual to commit a gruesome crime that is sending shockwaves throughout the community.

Court documents obtained by The Olathe Reporter reveal that 27-year-old Kwan Noble Trezvant of Olathe was arrested after stabbing an innocent 38-year-old woman in the face. Trezvant was out on bond for a previous offense at the time.

The incident occurred at a local park in Olathe just after noon.

Here are the details via KSHB:

Around 12:05 p.m. Thursday, police and paramedics were dispatched to the 1000 block of N. Ridgeview Road near Olathe Two Trails Park on an aggravated battery.

When they arrived, they located a 38-year-old woman suffering from apparent stab wounds. The woman was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

A short time later, police located the suspect, later identified as Kwan Trezvant, and took him into custody.

Police are treating this attack as a random incident because Trezvant and the victim, who was later identified as Jamie Trumpp, did not appear to know each other.

Two anonymous witnesses have claimed that Trumpp, a choir teacher at Indian Trail Middle School in Olathe, was attempting to stop Trezvant from kidnapping a child before she was knifed in the face by him.

This information has not been confirmed by authorities, however.

Trezant has a record of multiple arrests in Johnson County over the past two years. These include a 2024 misdemeanor battery-on-an-officer charge and a 2025 possession charge.

News and arrest records show he was released each time on low bonds, including $5k for the most recent one.

The Olathe Reporter reveals that Trezvant has been charged with first-degree attempted murder and is being held at the Johnson County Adult Detention Center on a $500,000 bond.

He was scheduled to make his first appearance before a judge this afternoon.
