The US Military blew up three drug boats traveling in a close formation as a convoy on Tuesday.
It is unclear where the strikes occurred; the US Southern Command said the vessels were operating in international waters.
At least 3 narco-terrorists were killed in the strikes. The military did not say what happened to the remaining narco-terrorists who abandoned their vessels.
“On Dec. 30, at the direction of @SecWar Pete Hegseth, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted kinetic strikes against three narco-trafficking vessels traveling as a convoy,” US Southern Command said on Wednesday.
“These vessels were operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations in international waters. Intelligence confirmed the vessels were transiting along known narco-trafficking routes and had transferred narcotics between the three vessels prior to the strikes. Three narco-terrorists aboard the first vessel were killed in the first engagement,” they said.
The US Coast Guard was notified to activate its search and rescue system.
“The remaining narco-terrorists abandoned the other two vessels, jumping overboard and distancing themselves before follow-on engagements sank their respective vessels. Following the engagements, USSOUTHCOM immediately notified @USCG to activate the Search and Rescue system,” SOUTHCOM added.

At least 30 drug boats have been blown up in Operation Southern Spear since late 2025.
More than 100 narco-terrorists have been killed in the strikes as the Trump Administration ramps up pressure on the Maduro Regime.
Meanwhile, the Democrats are attacking President Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth for vaporizing the drug boats.
In addition to a previous memo that labeled Fentanyl a chemical weapon to justify the drug boat strikes, President Trump signed an executive order earlier this month designating fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction.
The US Coast Guard has also seized at least two sanctioned Venezuelan oil tankers.
