BREAKING: Manhunt Underway For Bat-Wielding Man Who Appeared at US Attorney Alina Habba’s Office, Destroyed Property

Why did security officers let this man enter the building?

A bat-wielding man appeared at US Attorney Alina Habba’s office Wednesday evening and destroyed property in her office before fleeing the scene.

“Last night, an individual attempted to confront one of our U.S. Attorneys — my dear friend @USAttyHabba destroyed property in her office, and then fled the scene. Thankfully, Alina is ok,” US Attorney General Pam Bondi said.

“Any violence or threats of violence against any federal officer will not be tolerated. Period. This is unfortunately becoming a trend as radicals continue to attack law enforcement agents around the country,” Bondi said.

“We will find this person, and the individual will be brought to justice,” Bondi said.

“Our federal prosecutors, agents, and law-enforcement partners put their lives on the line every day to protect the American people, and this Department will use every legal tool available to ensure their safety and hold violent offenders fully accountable,” Bondi added.

“I will not be intimidated by radical lunatics for doing my job,” Alina Habba said.

According to The New York Times, the man appeared to Alina Habba’s office with a bat. Security turned him away so he returned without a bat and was allowed to enter the building.

The New York Times reported:

Law enforcement authorities on Thursday were seeking a man who brought a bat to the office of the acting U.S. attorney in New Jersey, Alina Habba, according to two people with knowledge of the matter.

The man appeared outside the Newark office on Wednesday evening but was barred by security from entering with the bat, people said. However, when the man returned without the bat, security officers allowed him to enter the building.

He then went to the floor where Ms. Habba’s office is and began yelling incoherently and smashing property, the people said. It is unclear whether he made specific threats against Ms. Habba.
