Trump Trolled Schumer and Jeffries With ‘Trump 2028’ Hats on Resolute Desk During Oval Office Budget Showdown (Photos)

revealed Tuesday night in photos posted on Truth Social that he trolled Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) during Monday’s budget showdown in the Oval Office by setting a pair of red Trump 2028 hats facing them on the Resolute Desk.

The meeting was held to try to avert a government shutdown Tuesday night by funding the government with a short term seven-week clean continuing resolution passed by House Republicans. Schumer and Jeffries refused to budge on their demands for over $1.5 trillion of new spending to keep the government open.

The government is heading for a shutdown Tuesday night at midnight as only two Democrats and one independent voted to break the 60 vote filibuster threshold on the House Republicans’ clean continuing resolution. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) was the only Republican to vote no, making the tally 55-45.
