Kevin Spacey is Finally ‘Uncancelled’ as He is Honored With Lifetime Achievement Award in Cannes

Nearly eight years after the outbreak of the era, it appears the actor Kevin Spacey has finally been uncancelled.

Spacey will be honored at Better World Fund’s 10th anniversary gala dinner at Cannes’ Carlton Hotel, where he will receive an award celebrating his contributions to film and television.

He is also in town to promote his latest project, The Awakening, and is seeking distribution deals during the festival.

According to the Better World Fund, the award acknowledges both his “artistic achievements over decades” and his “lasting influence on cinema and the arts.”

The Awakening is being showcased at the Marché du Film, the festival’s official industry market located beneath the Palais des Festivals.

In July 2023, Spacey was acquitted of charges involving alleged sexual assaults on four men following a high-profile four-week trial at Southwark Crown Court.

The year prior, he was also found not liable in a separate civil case in New York.

Since 2017, over 30 individuals have made accusations against Spacey, leading to his removal from the final season of the Netflix political House of Cards and the cancellation of a planned biopic on Gore Vidal.

Earlier this year, Spacey responded to remarks by fellow actor Guy Pearce, who claimed that Spacey had behaved inappropriately and targeted him on the set of 1997 film LA Confidential.

“We worked together a long time ago,” Spacey said in a video posted on the X platform.

“If I did something then that upset you, you could have reached out to me.”

”We could have had that conversation, but instead, you’ve decided to speak to the press, who are now, of course, coming after me, because they would like to know what my response is to the things that you said.

”You really want to know what my response is? Grow up.”

Spacey confirmed his return to acting last October, posting an image of himself on a horse while filming on location in Phoenix, .
