An aide to Speaker Johnson reportedly urged Republicans against subpoenaing January 6 ‘star witness’ Cassidy Hutchinson last June as part of their investigation into J6 to prevent the release of sexually explicit texts that lawmakers sent her, according to the Washington Post.
WaPo’s report comes as GOP-led House Committees are preparing to launch a new investigation into members of the January 6 Committee even though Biden pardoned all of them before leaving office.
Lawmakers are gearing up to issue subpoenas to January 6 Committee members and possibly witnesses such as Cassidy Hutchinson.

However, a new scandal may be brewing because lawmakers allegedly asked Cassidy Hutchinson for sexual favors and all of the explicit text messages would have been released if she was subpoenaed for documents and communications back in June.
It is unclear which lawmakers sent Cassidy Hutchinson sexually explicit messages or if they exist at all.
Without mentioning names or details, the Washington Post claims it has reviewed at least one written correspondence.

Rep. Loudermilk told reporters that Cassidy Hutchinson was not subpoenaed in June because her lawyers were cooperating with his investigation.
“I didn’t receive any direct communications,” Loudermilk said, according to The Hill. “As I’ve said in the past, we didn’t see a need to subpoena because her attorneys were cooperating with us.”
“We had numerous meetings since I reported directly to the Speaker’s office in the investigation because I didn’t have subpoena power of potential subpoenas going forward. So I don’t recall any specific, anyone saying do not subpoena,” Loudermilk said. “I mean, there were times that we laid out, hey, here’s a list of people we may subpoena or could. But as you guys know, the threat of subpoena is always more powerful than an actual subpoena.”
Speaker Johnson also said that Cassidy Hutchinson was not issued a subpoena because she was volunteering to participate.
Cassidy Hutchinson testified in June 2022 that Trump got into “the beast” after his speech at the Ellipse on January 6 with the belief that he would be driven to the Capitol.
According to Hutchinson, who received this information from Tony Ornato, the Assistant Director for the Secret Service, Trump grew angry after he was informed that he was being driven back to the West Wing.
According to Ornato, Trump shouted, “I’m the f*cking president! Take me up to the Capitol now!”
Hutchinson alleged that at this point Trump reached up to the driver, grabbed the steering wheel and tried to commandeer the presidential limo.
Hutchinson then claimed Secret Service Agent Bobby Engel grabbed Trump’s arm and took his hand off the steering wheel.
Of course, this was all a lie.
The House oversight subcommittee, headed by Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-Ga.), later found that unreleased testimony by four White House employees present for Trump’s Jan. 6, 2021, speech at the Ellipse “directly contradicted claims made by Cassidy Hutchinson. She made it all up. The woman should be hauled into court!
Later reports found that Liz Cheney coached Cassidy Hutchinson before her testimony. Another crime.
