The rap world is living its own version of a ‘Me-too’ movement, with the federal prosecution of Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, and a myriad of civil lawsuits targeting some of the top performers in the business.
While most of the suits arising now revolve around alleged Diddy crimes, other rappers are also facing lawsuits over rape and sexual assault allegations.
One rapper who is NOT under fire at this moment, 50 Cent has been very vocal in his criticism and open trolling of Diddy – and now he has also reportedly gone after Jay-Z on Instagram.
On Monday (9), Jay Z made an appearance at the ‘Mufasa: The Lion King’ premiere, after being sued over an alleged rape that took place over 20 years ago.
The mogul rapper smiled alongside his wife Beyoncé, daughter Blue Ivy, and his mother-in-law Tina Knowles.
New York Post reported:
“50 Cent shared pictures of the famous family at the event on Instagram, writing, ‘Jay said they said I rapped [sic] a kid, everybody get dressed we going to see Mufasa LOL.’ He has since deleted the post.”
50 Cent has long made a habit of trolling Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who is also named in the Jay-Z rape lawsuit.
He is even reportedly making a Netflix documentary about the sexual assault allegations against Diddy.
“Sources with direct knowledge told The Post that before the allegations, it was rumored that Jay-Z and Beyoncé were not planning to attend the premiere; however, they appeared to have a change of heart after the lawsuit.”
On Sunday (8), Jay-Z was named as a co-defendant in a lawsuit filed against Combs back in October.
“In the amended complaint filed in New York on Dec. 8, the woman — identified only as Jane Doe — claimed the rappers allegedly raped her at an afterparty following the MTV Video Music Awards in 2000 while an unnamed female celebrity watched.”
Jay-Z denied the ‘heinous’ allegations, called the lawsuit a “blackmail attempt”, and demanded that his ‘Jane Doe’ accuser reveal her identity.
“The ‘Empire State of Mind’ singer also addressed his wife and three children, saying, ‘My only heartbreak is for my family’.”
