President Trump nominated Key Square Capital Group CEO and Founder Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary

On Friday night, President Trump nominated Scott Bessent for Treasury Secretary.

Bessent was a prominent fundraiser for Donald Trump during the campaign.

President Trump published glowing remarks about Scott Bessent today in his public announcement.

President Trump also included a brief bio for his Treasury nominee.

Bessent was a former George Soros money manager and an advocate for deficit reduction. Bessent worked on and off for Soros Fund Management since 1991.

Bessent will be the nation’s first openly gay treasury secretary.
