Michigan men’s basketball coach Juwan Howard is starting to develop a reputation for anger issues on the sidelines.
Howard had to be restrained by his players Wednesday night following an argument with officials that became aggressively heated after Michigan’s loss to UNC.
Michigan men’s basketball coach Juwan Howard couldn’t keep it together in the final minute of the Wolverines’ 80-76 loss to North Carolina on Wednesday..
With 36 seconds left to play and the Tar Heels up 77-71, Howard lost his cool on the sidelines during an argument with an official. In video footage from the incident, the coach can be seen angrily shouting while being restrained by his own players.
Howard, who is in his fourth season with the Wolverines, also appeared to snap at Michigan players while they escorted him to the sidelines. He appeared to tell one of his players, “don’t f–king touch me.”
Michigan has now lost three of its past five games to fall to 7-4 on the season. The loss to UNC (9-4) marked another non-conference defeat for the Wolverines, including losses to Arizona State, Kentucky and Virginia.

This isn’t the first time Howard has gotten out of control.

In 2021, Howard was ejected from the Michigan-Maryland game for his behavior.
