Here’s Why I Refuse as a Christian Leader to Abandon Trump

OP-ED FROM Pastor Jackson Lahmeyer, Founder of Pastors for Trump

Much of the American Church has fallen to apostasy and anti-Christian wokeness, in a reckless abandon that forsakes the core tenets of our faith.

Some churches have even welcomed hypersexualized drag performances into their places of worship, while others have placed racial makeup ahead of pure and genuine faith. When it comes to other “woke” causes, many our leaders have bent the knee to corporatism and other “promised” worldly possessions, which are in direct violation of the Scriptures.

This apostasy has been incredibly difficult for me to witness as a Pastor who strives to communicate to my church the importance of staying the course and being faithful to the Word of God. Billy Graham said it best when he said that if “America were to get back on its’ feet, the people of God must first get down on their knees.”

In his first term, President Donald J. Trump invited leaders of the American Church into the White House, giving them unfettered access, unlike any head of state before. He was, and is, a champion for conservative Christian values, having appointed the Supreme Court Justices that overturned the criminal action that has murdered tens of millions of unborn American children, known as Roe v. Wade.

There is a battle between good and evil right now for the very soul of America.

This means that we all have an incredibly important decision to make when it comes to the future of the United States.

Christian Leaders have a responsibility to lead as the salt and light of America. America is a country founded on Christian principles. Allegiance to the Almighty is found in the country’s founding documents. The United States Constitution guarantees freedom of religion not freedom from religion

Like anyone else, I am a sinner in desperate need of God’s grace, mercy and forgiveness each day. However, it is my duty as a Pastor to urge my fellow Pastors to stand up, speak up and lead the nation back to the principles- Christian principles that made America great in the first place.

That’s why I launched Pastors for Trump, a nationwide coalition to show the 45th and 47th President of the United States that we are ready for his return to the Oval Office in 2024. The article in Gateway Pundit by Jacob Engels, a contributor to this site was shared by President Trump, which drew the ire of leftwing bloggers and apostates alike.

Remember this, they have spent years hitting President Trump for his stated belief in God and the more recent redemption of his longtime advisor Roger Stone in the blood of Christ in the face of the Deep State effort to pressure Stone to bear false witness and testify falsely against Trump. Both President Trump and Roger Stone believe that Jesus Christ is LORD unlike many of those who criticize their faith in Christ.

For anyone to question another person’s redemption is not only selfish, but also diminishes the healing power of our faith. Everyone walks a different path and to judge that journey should be avoided at all costs.

According to Business Insider, several of President Trump’s prominent supporters in the upper echelon of the Christian faith have not only abandoned him, but they are actively working against him. Some of those quoted, however, insist their quotes were taken out of context or falsified entirely.

Some of these leaders, however, are suffering from short-term memory loss. Why do I say that? Actions speak louder than words. President Trump during his first-term was a man of action on behalf of conservative Christian values. Not only did he give us the Supreme Court Justices to overturn Roe v. Wade, but he also acted on an issue that several of his predecessors promised to do but never did… Trump moved the Israeli embassy to Jerusalem.

During the first term of President Trump… our economy was booming, our allies respected us, and our enemies greatly feared us.

Proverbs 29:2 says, “When the godly are in authority, the people rejoice. But when the wicked are in power, they groan.”

I, and hundreds of other faith leaders involved with Pastors for Trump, are groaning right now as we watch the degradation of America in real time. The violence, the poverty, the depravity, the ungodly displays. We understand that we have a responsibility to engage our fellow citizens, not because it stacks up the collections on Sunday, but because it is the right thing to do. I have learned to do the right thing simply because it is the right thing to do.

Collections are temporary, divine salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ is forever.

President Trump was the most pro-Christian President we have seen in our lifetime. He promised during his first campaign to protect our children, waged an earthly and spiritual war during his time in the White House to do the same, and will do so again in his second term.

It is my hope that the American people realize this, especially those who are currently working to shame him, based on fantastical lies promoted by those who hate God and His Church here on earth.

As a man of God, I am grateful and forever hopeful to continue this fight for justice, dignity and righteousness in America. God often brings us these hard times so that we can rebound and reap the benefits of righteousness that is produced through perseverance and faith in Him.

One day, here soon, I believe that we will see justice flow like a river and righteousness like a never-ending stream out of Washington DC.

In order to Make America Great Again we must first begin by Making America Godly Again.
