Insiders Stunned After Twitter Eliminates 4,400 of its 5,500 Contractors with No Notice

Insiders are stunned after Twitter eliminated 4,400 of its 5,500 contractors with no notice, both in the US and abroad, according to Platformer.

The contractors are not being notified. They are just losing access to Slack and email.

One contractor learned he lost his access to the Slack channel and Twitter email by reading the Platformer reporter’s tweets.

“Update: company sources tell me that yesterday Twitter eliminated ~4,400 of its ~5,500 contract employees, with cuts expected to have significant impact to content moderation and the core infrastructure services that keep the site up and running.” Platformer reporter Casey Newton said.

“People inside are stunned.” he said.

Elon Musk immediately fired Twitter CEO Parag Agrawal, CFO Ned Segal and head of Trust & Safety Legal Vijaya Gadde when he took over Twitter last month.
