Massive Crowd at Lee Zeldin for Governor Rally with Ron DeSantis in Long Island, New York

Thousands of supporters turned out Saturday night for what one reporter called the largest campaign rally this year for New York governor, featuring Republican nominee Rep. Lee Zeldin and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. The rally took place in the town of Hauppauge in Suffolk County, Long Island.

NY1 reporter Bobby Cuza, “Biggest rally of the NY governor’s race thus far. Long Island turning out for this Zeldin-DeSantis event.”

The Zeldin campaign said the rally was announced a day ago, “INCREDIBLE turnout tonight on Long Island for our Get Out The Vote Rally with Florida Governor @RonDeSantisFL! THOUSANDS strong showed up for our event on only one day’s notice. 10 days until New York elects a new Governor. It can’t happen soon enough!

DeSantis, “NY deserves a leader who will restore law & order. @leezeldin is the man for the job. Lee will also protect NYers against irrational & liberty-infringing COVID mandates. The Zeldin victory on Nov 8th will be a shot heard ‘round the world!”

Gov. Kathy Hochul tried to fearmonger about Zeldin campaigning with DeSantis and Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin, “Lee Zeldin will campaign with Ron DeSantis and Glenn Youngkin — prime examples of far-right governors who have worked to roll back abortion rights and bring more guns into their communities. Make no mistake: Zeldin plans to bring their exact blueprint to New York.”

There were many similar responses to Hochul, but this one by Ryan Girdusky sums it up best, “God forbid our state should have low taxes, more businesses, open schools, and population growth like Virginia and Florida”
