The generic congressional ballot tracks which party is leading heading into the midterm elections.
A new poll from Rasmussen found that 46% of voters say they will vote for the GOP in November – 41% say they’d vote Democrat.
This was up two points from the week prior.
Republicans hold a nine-point lead among independents, according to the poll.
The 2022 midterm elections are now 81 days away, and Republicans have a five-point lead in their bid to recapture control of Congress.
The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that, if the elections for Congress were held today, 46% of Likely U.S. Voters would vote for the Republican candidate, while 41% would vote for the Democrat. Just four percent (4%) would vote for some other candidate, but another eight percent (8%) are not sure.
This isn’t the only poll showing this.
A recent poll from the Trafalgar group showed 46.9% of Americans plan on voting for Republicans in the midterm elections — while only 41.6% say they’ll vote Democrat. 11.5% remain undecided.
