White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Thursday said Russia is “wrongfully detaining” Brittney Griner even though she broke the law.

“[Brittney Griner] should never had to endure a trial in the first place,” KJP said. “We have repeatedly called for Russia to release her immediately so she can be with her wife, her loved ones, friends and teammates.”

Karine Jean-Pierre said the Biden Regime continues to “work aggressively” to bring home Brittney Griner.

The United States is currently offering to exchange Russian prisoners for Griner and Paul Whelan, a former US Marine.
