“In God We Trust” Signs Going Up In Texas Schools After Law Goes Into Effect

Back in 2021, Senate Bill 797 was passed in Texas. The bill states that secondary and elementary schools must display “a durable poster or framed copy of the United States national motto” if there is no cost associated with the display.

The bill has just recently gone into effect.

The Western Journal reported:

According to the Houston Chronicle, a bill that recently went into effect puts God and the national motto back into classrooms.

Senate Bill 797, passed in 2021, stipulates that elementary and secondary schools must “display in a conspicuous place in each building of the school or institution a durable poster or framed copy of the United States national motto,” provided that the sign has been donated or purchased with donations.

The signs also include an American flag “centered under the national motto” and a Texas state flag, as well.

This has led to a growing number of signs with this motto being displayed in schools across the state.

The Epoch Times reported:

The motto “In God We Trust” is being displayed in a growing number of Texas schools thanks to a law that recently went into effect requiring its display in a prominent location in public schools and institutions of higher education in the Lone Star state.

Texas Senator Bryan Hughes, who co-authored the bill, said that some groups are coming forward and donating the framed prints.
