A tornado ripped through a residential area in Andover, Kansas on Friday evening.
Homes and cars were destroyed after a powerful twister touched down just east of Wichita Friday night.

Homes were ripped apart, a YMCA hit and cars crushed when a tornado tore through parts of Kansas Friday night.
The twister touched down near Andover, Kansas, about 10 miles east of Wichita, just after 8 p.m. CT. Video and photos posted to social media shortly afterward showed extensive damage to homes and YMCA in the area.
Andover sits near the line between Butler and Sedgwick counties. Damage was reported in both counties.

It’s estimated that at least 50 to 100 homes were damaged, a dispatcher for the Butler County Sheriff’s Office told weather.com Saturday morning.
Miraculously no one was killed or seriously injured, according to Andover Fire Chief Chad Russell.
