WGAL reported:
A police officer was killed and two other officers were wounded while responding to a domestic disturbance in Lebanon, according to Mayor Sherry Capello.
Capello said police were called around 3:36 p.m. Thursday to a home in the 1100 block of Forest Street.
Shots were exchanged with officers at 4:24 p.m., and three officers were hit.
“In a moment that will be remembered as a sad day in the city of Lebanon, a Lebanon city officer was fatally injured,” Capello said.
Capello said another officer is in critical but stable condition at a hospital, and the third officer is in stable condition.
“As one can only imagine, I mean, it’s clearly a traumatic event,” police Chief Todd Breiner said. “Our guys are strong but we’re human and we have families and people were injured today. We’re all affected by this. And with the help of our families and every other law enforcement officer around this country, we’ll get through it.”
Breiner said the subject of the domestic disturbance call, a 34-year-old Lebanon man, is deceased.
