For more than 100 years a statue of Thomas Jefferson has stood in New York City Hall – until far-left activists on the Public Design Commission decided to remove it because Jefferson was a ‘slave-owning racist.’
NYC’s City Council’s black, Latino and Asian Caucus demanded the statue of the Founding Father and author of the Declaration of Independence be removed in part of the Maoist revolution sweeping this nation.
The vote is expected Monday.
“How the hell can people see as a hero someone who had hundreds of enslaved Africans, someone who was a racist and who said we were inferior and someone who was a slaveholding pedophile?” Assemblyman Charles Barron asked.
“For him to be canonized in a statue is incredible – incredibly racist,” he added.
A 7-foot-tall statue of Thomas Jefferson may be removed from NY City Hall.
The City Council’s Black, Latino and Asian Caucus said the statue “symbolizes the disgusting and racist basis on which America was founded.”
