JUST IN: US Senate Votes to Advance Debt Limit Increase Bill – Here Are the Republicans Who Voted with Dems

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on Wednesday caved to Joe Biden and said he would agree to a debt limit increase through December.

Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer on Thursday filed cloture to end debate and the senate voted Thursday evening.

60 votes were needed to end debate and advance the $480 billion debt limit hike.

The Senate voted 61-38 to advance the debt limit increase bill.

Update: The US Senate held a final vote on raising the debt limit after voting to end debate.

A simple majority was required.

The Senate voted 50-48 to raise the debt limit by $480 billion.

The bill now heads to the House of Representatives.
