Both Milley and Austin said they were stunned Afghanistan fell in 11 days.
“The timeframe of a rapid collapse; that was widely estimated and ranged from weeks to months and even years following our departure. There was nothing that I or anyone else saw that indicated a collapse of this army and this government in 11 days,” Milley said.
According to some reports, tens of thousands of American citizens are still stuck in Afghanistan.
The Taliban is currently blocking access to Kabul airport.

Secretary Austin told reporters that they’ll only evacuate Americans “until the clock runs out.”
“We don’t have the capability go out and collect up large numbers of people,” he added.
Both Milley and Austin should resign in disgrace.
